Suen the Pilgrim, Clumsy Suen, Left-handed Suen, Suen the Misfit, Awkward Suen, Suen Butterfingers... All nicknames the mousy-looking girl got almost instantaneously handed by her family and kin for the terrible string of bad luck that constantly lurks after her, and her almost otherworldly ability to screw up things in the most dire situations.
She is a born Keeper of the Moon mi'qote hailing from the Twelveswood, coming from a clan living on the outskirts of Gridania.
Often oblivious of everything by nature, Suen is the perfect example of the scatterbrain individual, often letting her thoughts run wild in all directions.
Suen's story is still told occasionally in her family, for its rather peculiar and fuzzy nature is often pointed as an example of all things wrong that proper Keeper of the Moon offspring should never indulge in. Born in the Twelveswood and enjoying a life in the outskirts of Gridania, expected to follow the long standing tradition of botanists in her family, she chose instead to grow a certain fondness for everything exotic, new, or just outright spooky, as her propensity to scare her siblings clearly showed. Overall, she was misunderstood since her early years.
Despite her affliction that appears to jinx everything she does, it never seemed to bother the elementals of the Twelveswood, that wholeheartedly embraced her as she showed strong natural bonds with the wood and the wilderness. She was often seen to spend her time directly around, or perched on trees, leading some to call her various names like the 'tree-hugging lass'. It was not really surprising to see her assigned to conjuring circles, but her somewhat random inability to learn and properly cast spells without collateral damage soon made people rethink twice their decision to let her deal with aetheric powers. Her rare natural gift of Hearer pushed her not to cling too much to her conjury circles to instead go wander in the woods, at times trying to sneak on padjals and hear their stories.
Her coming of age saw the apparition of two events that were to change her life forever. The first, her family welcoming one of the wandering Keeper males and trying to set her up with him for his stay, just for the poor guest to inexplicably fall off a cliff, leaving him with only half of his senses. And the second not that long after when Suen inconspicuously freeloaded into a garlean magitek armour near the brand new Castrum Oriens, eventually leading her native village to be burned to the ground. A fact Suen does not know though, is that the incident proved more impressive than really harmful, and nobody really got hurt.
While she got without news from her family for a few years, trying to survive and leading a carefree life on the road, Suen never tried to reach them out, the same way she was too scared to get back to the village to look for survivors. This leaded her to feel even more remorse over her deeds, and the emotional burden she now has to wear has brought her to hide behind an exaggerated lack of seriousness, which she rarely breaks out.

In spite of her nerdy ability to get overexcited at the mention of new horizons, obscure lore, and technology (especially Garlean and, cream of the cream, Allagan), Suen shares the solitary nature of her kin with great zeal. She is often found lost in her thoughts, or outright living in her own world, and it can get pretty difficult to snap her out of her bubble. Her clear lack of realism or even sense of danger or dread can make her engage into incredibly risky situations that no sane person would consider even vaguely safe to do, which can lead her into pretty upside-down situations.
Due to her affliction, she is for most people a walking danger that should be kept away, hurting her relations in the process, a fact that is not helped either by her mi'qote Keeper tendency to follow a solitary life. Despite her showing clearly otherwise, she is acutely aware of this and it tends to comforts her into keeping her true self shut close to her. In direct relation to that, she totally lacks of self-confidence and often tends to put herself down, preferring heavily to rely on others to take important decisions.
Suen does not truly follow a religion proper, albeit she certainly shares an affinity for Thaliak, her guardian deity for which she shares a true passion for discovery, as well as Nophica who holds a major significance for most Gridanians. She happened to show more recently a certain curiosity for Oschon, as after all, she now shares his vagrant life. Elementals and manifestations of nature being to her like a second skin is also more a matter of everyday life than religious, albeit still slightly spiritual. Of course, the thrill of new knowledge, edgy and creepy stories, and any kind of advanced technology could be argued to form her true 'religion'.
Do not read this paragraph if you do not want any spoilers on the core personality of the character
Suen's demeanor and the personality she created around her character is a way for her to hide the mental wounds related to her past. She is unable to properly face what she caused, and she unconsciously tries to flee whenever she is reminded of it, a way for her to shut herself off from a harmful past.
The pilgrimage she took upon herself to do as such has no clear destination even to her, and she likes it that way precisely because it allows her to evade the time when she might have to come to confront her past, and eventually to go look for what really happened to her family and their whereabouts.

Rather small in size even for a mi'qote, and frail in stature, Suen still developed the necessary stamina to wander the roads everyday. She tends to exhibit a mousy, tomboyish appearance. Her hair is taupe, as well as her eyes, with slight, light amber tones, and her pale complexion is typical of the Keepers of the Moon, albeit without showing too much some of their blue-ish undertones. Suen's rather delicate features are often hidden behind dust or dirt, depending where she tends to wander carefree, and her hair most of the time disheveled. Her innocent appearance has often fooled people into supporting her in shady dealings until it was too late to back away.
Scars & Markings: None noticeable. Her skin is generally pretty flawless, when clean.
Voice: Suen obviously speaks with a deep Gridanian accent that can also show hints of Mi'qote Keeper tongue. Her voice tends to be somewhat high-pitched, but not crystal clear, rather hoarse. Overall, not the aristocratic type.
Clothing: Suen is often seen wearing simple, ample, yet sturdy clothes cut for travel and woods. Overall, it often gives her a rather rugged, rogue aspect.
Under her talents for the worst to happen and her utterly clumsy manners, Suen hides a keen and cunning mind that can awaken either at the weirdest times, or when the situation is dire enough to warrant it. Left alone, she remains rather resourceful and can get as crafty as foxes, either to survive, or in pursuit of her goals when fate has not conspired against her. Her pragmatic gridanian upbringing in the woods taught her to do with very little and simple things, and she rarely requires a lot for subsistence, used to take from nature what nature gives. However, she can sometimes get lost on matters of survival in foreign, alien looking lands.
Like most of her kin, she inherited of some of their traits, like better legs, ears and smell, although certainly not in an order of magnitude similar to those shown by the hunters of the family. She often tends to rely heavily on her magical perception rather than her physical senses.
Suen's primary weaknesses naturally include a disastrous luck often leading her otherwise simple and pleasant life into an endless catastrophe and unexpected shifts of situations from the daily blunders that can include butter fingers or bruises to the rarer but nonetheless impressive backfires that afflict the few spells she can be called to cast. Moreover, most of the skills she might express are often totally overshadowed or outplayed by her clumsy affliction, where everything good, or paved with good intentions, gets often turned into pretty grim or outright dreadful consequences.

Suen was not especially favored among her kin for her martial or hunting prowess. While not outright weak, she remains a frail individual. Most of the handful of situations where she got in trouble necessitating to resort to combat, she was too scared to do anything else than panicking, which leaded her most of the time to... interesting results, to say the least.

Sigurd is the first person Suen encountered in Mor Dhona on the way to her pilgrimage, which whom she kind of kept contact when he offered her a linkpearl. Not especially sure what that bizarre vintner clad in armour was up to with this linkshell, she decided to investigate.
Aeon
Leon was the first to introduce Suen to that group of mercenaries called 'Aeon', when she was looking for directions in the Goblet. He has so far shown a steady welcome toward her, and proved to be very supportive, and even receptive to her debatable wits. Leon is also willing to help Suen learn to defend herself through physical arts. Leon proved to be a caring friend to Suen when she needed it the most.
Aeon
Aurou has always been around Leon. Having learned of her Sharlayan origins as well as her studies of the art of conjury, Suen's interest has been piqued even further. The quiet tranquility of the mi'qote sometimes succeed in snapping Suen out of her bubble and make her take her responsibilities. Aurou offered Suen to help her reconcile with her broken conjury. As for Leon, Aurou proved to be the most caring, full of insight, leaving very few secrets in the way.
Dread Wyrms
Maybe feeling a certain familiarity for a fellow Keeper of a similar age and their similar tastes, Suen connected immediately with the gridanian mi'qote, who seems to struggles with similar past issues. Suen feels very admiring and maybe a bit envious of Raih's self-assurance and carefree life. She found a confident and unexpected promising good friend in Raih, who exerts a certain magnetism on her.
Aeon
Ferus mostly left an impression of coldness and appeared as a no-nosense, rude, unwelcoming character. His insistence in trying to marginalize her tends to get on her nerves, but nothing to really rebuke Suen for now, who also actually enjoys his grumpy and cynical side. Suen learned that the man is ala-mighan, though his cynical stance toward most of them confuses her.
Aeon
Brave Horizon showed immediately that she was a considerate person, and her involvement in the Airship maintenance and design of Aeon sure proved to be a point of interest for Suen.
Oathforge
U'xi is part of Yashaix' little gang of Keepers, and the one that abducted Suen for her. Suen appreciates her social flair, but her often lewd, flirting comments and manners tend to weird her out.
RareX
Suen got abducted and nearly physically tortured by a band of shady individuals lead by this tall mi'qote woman, that took her for someone else. Suen is still deeply shaken by the experience, the first time she had to look at death in the eyes, but she is slowly healing through it. Since then, Yashaix proved to actually be a very caring, gentle Keeper mother with a strong sense of kin.
Trident
Sami is the daughter of Yashaix, and proved to have quite a different personality. Suen immediately got along with a simplicity they both share. They promised to see each other again.
Aethereal Warriors
Paul caught Suen in Uld'ah when she got the attention of the authorities by sneaking into the area around Castrum Meridianum. He was a reminder of the consequences of her actions, but not really interested in taking her to the Blades, he offered her to do some investigative work for him instead. She eventually did the work that culminated in the death of a target, and got cleared of her warrant afterwards.
Jackal & Hide
Suen met Haydn'to through her acquaintance Raih. Sharing the same native homeland, he proved to be friendly enough, accepting her as a friend of Raih, and a fellow Keeper from the Shroud. Suen enjoys a lot his alarmist stories on the primal Odin.

Roleplay, stances
Stances on RP: Usually 'heavy' kind of RP, with emphasis on character development and growth. Modest characters, lasting plots, but open to most RP really. Suen is mostly designed as a supporting character, even if she has her own story. Hooks and relationships: Totally open to any idea that can provide potential RP with my character. If you feel that my character profile can provide a hook for a story you have in mind, don't hesitate to reach me out to see what can be done! I am also definitely open for family ties, or background connections between characters. RP combat and injuries:Open for most systems as long as they make sense to me. I can roll random dices or settle it through a fully organic RP exchange without any other tool, or a combination of both. As long as both players are conscious of the limitations and strengths of their characters, it should flesh out pretty good situations. As I am a strong supporter of dealing with the consequences of every actions our characters do, I will go by almost anything that can happen (except when true death, or other very dire things have to happen).
