P E R S O N A L I T Y

Xiv looks at the world around him with fascination and wonder, as if seeing almost everything for the first time. Quite tall for a Miqo'te and muscular.

While not really of body-builder size but rather that of a hard-working athlete. His dark skin is surprisingly smooth and his features are rather delicate, almost uncannily so for someone who has had a rough life on the streets. When looking at him you can tell that he cares about his apperance, his hair is almost always feathery-soft and his clothes clean and well-kept. His eyes, white and almost glowing is rarely still and focused, darting from place to place as things catches his interest. Moving with grace and confidence he is rarely seen without a smile on his face. If it wasn't for his lighthearted disposition he would probably be seen as very arrogant and stuck-up. He geniunely enjoys helping people, in his own way. Recently he lost his right hand just above the wrist and has has prosthetic that Locke Rinannis made for him. He usually keeps it concealed under a glove and unless you look really close, you wouldn't be able to tell. Xiv loves learning new things and absorbs knowledge like a sponge. He is always seen with a smile on his face and is friendly and open to everyone he meets.

■Childhood

Both his parents, his older sisters and brother were killed by Garlean soldiers when he was about 7 years old. Somehow he managed to get to Ul'dah and ended up living on the streets there. Stealing what he needed, he was soon picked up by a small street gang.

■Teens

His entire adolescence is a bit of a blur as he spent most of it high on all kinds of drugs. Always in the search for money for his next fix, there as no limit as to the things he would do to get it. Whoring, stealing, mudering. He even killed members of his own gang only to get to their stashes. A few attempts was made on his own life as well, but he managed to escape from it by the hairs of his tail.

■Present

After the Calamity, Xiv decided it was time to change his way of life. He tried to enlist with the Pugilist guild but was thrown out as he could barely stand or talk straight. He was found crying outside their gates by Old Man who decided to take the ragged Miqo'te in. Old Man taught Xiv how to care both for his body and his mind as he trained him in the ways of the Monk. Five years after the Calamity, his mentor passed away from old age, leaving Xiv all his belongings.

T R A I N I N G

Xiv was trained by "Old Man" in the ways of the Monk. Strong and confident, he faces any threat head on without fear. On the battlefield he is focused and calculating, taking down his opponents with exact kicks and punches. While he is proficient with weapons, he prefers to battle either completely unarmed or with knuckle dusters. To keep himself in good physical condition Xiv does a lot of different exercises that he tries to combine with his adventurer-work. Xiv's biggest source of income is doing jobs for the Immortal Flames, usually the off-road monster-hunting kind. He also frequently visit the other Grand Companies as well as Notice Boards to see if there is anything he can do for coin

Old Man taught Xiv the value of being flexible, hence, Xiv is a sort of Jack of all trades and Master of none, except for the Monk style.

■Spears: "Stabsticks" as Xiv calls them. He has been training off and on with them a while, his skill is moderate.

■Axes: Not his favorite. He can swing one well-enough to cut down trees or enemies, but nearly not as well as with the spear.

■Pickaxe: A recent favorite, Xiv consider it to be good training in hacking away at rocks. While his technique might be good, his eye for actually finding the precious gems is lacking to say the least.

■Mathemagics: Xiv recently started to study how to heal people from the Arcanist guild. He has made some progress and can do simpler spells to close wounds and ease pain, Jino'ya has also been helping him.

■Conjuring: Not as much as learning new healing skills, Xiv has taken up Conjuring in Gridania. While he find the art itself interesting and somewhat easier than the Arcanist-studies, he probably won't pursuit this much further.

Xiv really likes hanging out with Inarah and wish he had more time with her. Mostly though because he thinks it's hilarious to tease her so her tail starts whipping. He has a great deal of respect for his 'boss', despite his teasings. J'kilid Tia ( ♦✔ ) - Killer. While he might not have been around Kilid as much as he might want to, he never miss an opportunity to litterally get in to the Seekers face. P'etri Ksobwa ( ♥ ) - Pets. Xiv's Thoughts: "Pets, I miss you so much sometimes. Thank the Twelve for letters! I hope we will see eachother again sometime in the future, and if nothing else, I hope to see your student! I bet you're an excellent teacher." Xiv has the utmost respect for P'etri and her combat skills. A deserving drinking buddy, he's a little sad that the Seeker is no longer with him. However he does keep a semi-frequent contact by letter. Helia Haloren ( ♦ ) - Hels. While he considers Helia as a bit of a 'too serious' person, he does think she have her moments. And he loves listening to her stories. Myra Tyra ( ● ) - Maja. Xiv's Thoughts: "She threatened Gin. I threatened her back." Although Xiv has tried really hard, he has a slight problem in seeing any redeeming features in the little lala called Myra. He think it's a good thing she left. Stone Wall ( ♦ ) - Tin. Xiv appreciates Stone's simple mind. Someone who is easily influenced and rather innocent in his point of views. Lately though Xiv has noticed a change in the large Roe that makes him worry a little. Thya Kahzuun ( ♦✔ ) - Tea. He thinks that the shy Thya has improved somewhat as of late. Not quite sure what to make of her stares sometimes, he likes talking to her, even if she doesn't talk much back. Yoral Porral ( ♦ ) - Yoyo. Even Xiv thinks that Yoral is a little weird, but ever since the lala left for the Shroud, he's been missing the little gyu's antics. Z'thara Dhen ( ♥✔ ) - Star. Xiv's Thoughts: "Star is always so kind to me and she always looks so pretty! I love her with all my heart and we support eachother when times are tough. I hope she will stay with me forever." Xiv cares greatly for Thara and wants her to be happy, always. He is determined to stand by her side, no matter what. Aeron Volkova ( ♥✔ ) - Air. Xiv's Thoughts: "Air, hm. He's a tough one. Sometimes all jokes and flirting, then othertimes, clammed up like an oyster. I hope he has found balance now with Odie after his old girlfriend's passing. Lately, it sometimes feel like our friendship as been damaged somehow..." Aeron is probably Xiv's best hyur friend, mostly because it was one of the first he befriended. He likes Aeron's flirty style although lately it seems that the noble has mellowed out and become more serious. Xiv is unsure what to make of this but as long as Aeron is happy, Xiv'll be happy. Garrison Krios ( ● ) - Geri. The old warrior impressed Xiv greatly as Kilid went up against him in some sort of trial. He sees some of his old master in the man, although his elusiveness makes Xiv thinks that he doesn't take his apprentices too seriously. Platinum Mountain ( ♦✔ ) - Plats. An alledged Dragonslayer, this little lala has impressed Xiv with his knowledge of the healing arts, at least since it was sort of damaged after watching Yoral work his magic.. Jino'ya Traore ( ♥✔ ) - Gin. Xiv's Thoughts: "Gin is awesome! One of the best Jackasses ever and my Brother-of-choice! I will do anything for him, he deserves it!" Xiv loves the little keeper a great deal and wants to make every effort to make him feel safe and comfortable. It brings him great pride to see Jino finally fully stand on his own legs in life and is very excited that he finally got a girlfriend. Bert Brewforge ( ♥✔ ) - Bart. Xiv's Thoughts: "Bart is the best guy ever. He's gruff and grumpy at times, but it's all surface. Underneath, he's the cuddliest and softest person! One of my best friends definitely. I love him." The rough-looking Highlander is always making Xiv smile, mostly without even trying. He would consider him one of his best friends as he is a very honest man. They enjoy training together on a regular basis and lately he has been bonding quite well with the Highlander. Zhyalyhe Loeshaksyn ( ● ) - Bee. An old friend of Inarah, Xiv doesn't really know Zee that well. But he is a little suspicious of the Roe that seem to like treasures a lot. Romimo Romi ( ♦✔ ) - Momo. Xiv's Thoughts: " Momo? I like... it? It's hard to tell sometimes if lalas are girls or boys, even by their name! Apparently an old friend of Lickers too. I don't see.. it around much, it's probably a busy person. It's good it's back from the dead too." One of the agents of the company. Xiv hasn't really had a chance to form a real opinion about her as they seem to pass each other a lot in the hallways. Cassandra Lachance ( ♥✔ ) - Sassa. Xiv's Thoughts: "Sassa? I like her! She has very nice feet that she should take care of. I think she might be brooding excessively though sometimes but recently she seems very happy! The animal sanctuary she made is also great for sadness therapy. Also her doggie is super cute!" Xiv has a lot of compassion for Cassandra and is worried about her. He considers her a good friend and hopes that she can understand that what she has done in the past shouldn't matter. He is very excited that she's finally gonna take her relationship to the next level. Kheja'a Akhabila ( ♦✔ ) - Geya. Xiv's Thoughts: "Geya? I like him! He's a very nice guy, although I think he tries a little too hard. Maybe a little less logic and a little more alcohol would make him more balanced, yeah?" Since that Truth or Dare night in the kitchen, Xiv is a firm believer that no magic users can handle large amounts of liqor. He is still waiting for that sparring-training with the Keeper that was promised ages ago. Ludivine Goultard ( ♦✔ ) - Lu. Xiv's Thoughts: ""Lu? I like her! She's tall and quiet and grey, kinda like an elongated Tea! I hope she'll be allright, she's been through a lot lately!" Ludi has always kinda stuck to the background. She functions as a scout when they go out on jobs and seems to have an alchemical past. Xiv couldn't really care less of her past, he just wishes he knew more about her in the present. Locke Rinannis ( ♥✖ ) - Lickers. Xiv's Thoughts: "Lickers Knickers? I like him! He's very kind, and very helpful when it comes to machines. I think he, like seemingly a lot of people, underestimates themselves. Plus is wife Silly is really cute! He's helped me out so much lately, I want to repay him but he says I already paid him" While not showing it outright, Xiv is very interested in the knowledge of machinery that Locke has. His tinkering and inventing impresses the Keeper greatly and he is forever thankful for his aid in constructing the mechanical hand he uses. Miir Raj'ar ( ♥✔ ) - Mere. Miir reminds Xiv a lot about P'etri, although her mouth is a more crude than his brother's. He is happy in her company though, and hopes they can have a good sparring match someday. Ruran Vas ( ♦ ) - Ghost. Xiv met this mysterious masked man by pure chance one day on the way from the Mist towards Limsa. There was something familliar about him and Xiv could also feel the man carrying a heavy burden. Since, they have met many more times, always by chance. W'gahr Lupercal ( ♦✔ ) - Wagon. Nowadays a fellow Jackal, Luper has helped Xiv upgrading his mechanical hand and maintaining the item. Xiv is impressed by the Miqo'te's engineering skills and is eager to learn more about the man.
