"I think back to those days, and it feels like more than four years have passed. I feel as though it were another life, completely disconnected from this one. As if in those days out in the mountains’ passage, leaving my kingdom behind… I was reborn."
- Frejyalen Ruyalen, from her memoirs

At a glance...

Queenie Glance.jpg

The first that most would notice is her stature; Frejyalen is above-average in height for her usually diminutive race, with a poise that only accentuates this fact. Though she appears to be a proud and regal woman, she is quite approachable and honest, with a keen eye that is always pondering on the words, body language, and actions of others. She prefers to keep herself well-kept and proper, wearing lavish jewels and fine silks for special occasions, but her greatest accessory is her enigmatic smirk.

She can be found perusing the street vendors and stalls in Ul'dah, often flanked by attendants, her snowy white hair braided loosely behind her head and her face adorned in the traditional painted symbols of her people. Folklore and riddle-tales are her favourite to share, but she can be tight-lipped as to her own thoughts and feelings, preferring to listen rather than talk.

Recent Developments

KeyuZephyr desert.jpg

Lady Frejyalen, Master Rahdias, and Master Keyu continue their travels around Thanalan, studying the Amalj'aa and their cultural history. Though Lady Frejyalen and her Legion are mostly motivated by personal interest, the Immortal Flames have asked them to report anything that can help bring a peaceful resolution between Ul'dah and the Amalj'aa. So far, there have been no breakthroughs in this endeavor, as the Amalj'aa are still weary of the outsiders' questions and interest in their ways.

(( I am currently looking to collaborate with other Balmung RP'ers for this arch of storyline ))

Lady Frejyalen has been a bit pensive as of late; she has been reminiscing about her homeland and praying to Nymeia for the opportunity to find a place in the Realm where she can preserve her own culture for future generations to learn about.

Biography

To be expanded at a later date.

Childhood

Life in Ul'dah & Thaumaturge Training

"I spent a year with the mages of the black in Ul’dah, honing my craft…and often in solitude, something I had seldom been granted as a Queen-to-be.
And over time, my understanding of my abilities began to change… the flow of energy, aether, magic… it coursed through me so strongly, fluidly, a’rush in my veins… it was as if it transformed me, heightened me to a state of being that was not possible for just anyone.
It felt as if the magic was mine to wield and bend and overflow, and these feelings both terrified and mystified me."

Present

Ruyalen Folklore & Witch Queens

RUMORS

Some of these rumors are untrue or are greatly exaggerated. Please feel free to add your own rumors under PC!

◢ Common Rumors (Easily overheard)
"She's not from any o' the city-states, but some o'er place. Likes the finer pieces in my collection, she does." - Ul'dahn jewelry merchant
"The Ruyalen family are good people. Leave 'em be." - Momodi, Proprietress of the Quicksand
"Ooh! I seen that one, very tall 'nd proper-like! Ne'er did see a lalafell quite like 'er from 'round here. Always has a piece o' coin fer the waitin' hands, yes. Sometimes she stops t' talk, just cashul conversation and the like, yeh know. Why, jus' th' o'er day I seen her wit a couple'a miqo fellas.." - rambling Ul'dahn beggar
◢ Moderate Rumors (Moderately difficult to overhear)
"I hear she's lookin' t' purrchase land somewhere in th' mou'ains." - Miqo'te housekeeper
"I don't know how she does it, but Queenie seems to inspire the people around her to do their best and push ahead. It's eerily similar to the stories I've heard about a certain hero-king back home... I still have much to learn if I want to be like them someday." - Ayra Sagramore
"What does the Legion do, eh? Well I've jus' joined 'em, so I really couldn't tell yeh. The're givin' me a place t' rest m' head, so ther's that." - Miounne Rondelet
"Our daughter...yes, she is our pride and joy. She is spirited, a great gift from Nymeia to our people. However, I'm not inclined to divulge in any other questions." - Heraya Ruyalen
◢ Rare Rumors (Very difficult or rarely overheard)
"Yeah, I still call her my Queen. Callin' her anythin' else would be an insult to our history, and our future." - Keyu Zephyr
"Yes, the Ruyalens came to Ul'dah not more than a year ago... think their heir, Lady Frejyalen, is trainin' with the black mages of Ul'dah." - chatty Sultansworn
"There's supposedly talk among the beast tribes of a lalafell fitting Frejya's description. 'Beware she who walks the land, draped in the fur of wolves, for she can bend the wills of wolves to do her bidding.' Sounds like a load of crap if you ask me, but maybe I'll go ask a few questions myself." - Giganziel Talres
