Hailing from the now frozen land of Coerthas and the Holy See of Ishgard, Reinhold is a Knight Dragoon that has led a rather long life of conflict and grief. Born of a noble family he had never wanted for much aside from companionship and to make a difference which brought him to join the Temple Knights when he was old enough to enlist. From there life became and endless cycle for going from one battle to the next, resulting him in witnessing the death of countless comrades and friends. Yet still the man pushes on despite the effect this has had on him, and continues to present himself as an ever calm and polite Knight. Most recently after a rather bizarre and nightmarish set of events that stole nearly two years of his life, Reinhold has retired himself from the Order of the Dragoon and the Temple Knights so as to handle the affairs as Lord of House Allemand, and so he can pursue his interests with the Pathfinders. After awhile of acting as a bodyguard for Madison Brookstone and filling the unofficial role of a Company Officer, his position with the company has become more official. Though difficult so far he has managed to juggle the responsibilities of his House back in Ishgard and his duties as a Pathfinders Vice Captain. As of late though with all that has happened within the company he seems to be taken on more and more of the responsibilities of leading the company as other leaders are forced to deal with events happening around them.

Nature & Demeanor

Nature & Demeanor

Demeanor: Reinhold is always a gentleman first above all else. He is polite, generous, and does not hesitate to help those around him if they let him. Yet at times cracks are seen in this demeanor when those in his charge are threatened or insulted spurring the Knight to action.

Nature: It can be said that Reinhold was born the perfect Knight. His duty comes above all else, never lies and views corruption with no small amount of hatred. His loyalty to Ishgard can never be called into question and those who earn his trust and respect can always count on his lance or sword.

Religion: As a dragoon and a noble of Ishgard, Reinhold is quite religious and reveres and follows the doctrines of Halone like most Ishgardians. That said he is also respectful and pious towards the others in the pantheon.

Notable Features

Notable Features

Common Appearance: Reinhold has fair skin with shoulder length white hair. Despite his hair color and age Reinhold looks younger than he is most likely due to his constant need to remain at a physical peak. His eyes are a very light blue and he has white facial hair.

Scars & Markings: Reinhold has a scar running from his ear to his chin, as well as several severe scars on his abdomen, the pattern suggesting something rather large tried to make the Knight its next meal.

Voice: His voice a bit on the deeper side and at times can be rough, yet he always speaks in a polite and soft tone which masks that natural roughness at times.

Clothing: Outside of his home in Ishgard or his current accommodations in the Pathfinders Estate, Reinhold can either be seen wearing a mixture of light chain and plate armors. Inside he is often found wearing clothes more proper for a noble to be seen in.

Strengths

Strengths

Due to his training as a Dragoon, Reinhold has exceptional strength and agility often times beyond that of normal men, though this is done through the expenditure of his aether. Yet even without the aether reinforcement Reinhold still has a natural strength to put him on an equal playing field with most fighters.

Weaknesses

Weaknesses

While Reinhold is able to use aether in the normal ways a Dragoon can for physical reinforcement as well as certain dragon slaying techniques, his over all prowess with aether is quite low. In addition his attitude and need to protect those around him will often cause him to sacrifice the advantage in a fight to see to their safety.

Combat

Combat

Reinhold has been trained to fight either with a lance or a sword and shield. His lance capabilities are on a mastery level and can be considered one of the best after his long years of training and preferred use. As for the fighting style used he favors the obvious style of the Dragoons of Ishgard, leaping above his enemies to deal devastating blows, or using aether reinforced attacks to overwhelm them. When using a shield and sword he adopts a different style as while he is a capable fighter with them it is not at the mastery level of his lance work. Thus he instead takes a more cautious approach, deflecting his opponents attacks and only countering with light strikes until he has his opponent's style down. Once he sees an opening he charges through it without hesitation and drops all pretense of defense.

Name () - Trygil Allemand
Reinhold's father Trygil led the Allemand family from the age of 19 until recently when illness forced him to step down in favor of his son at the age of 59. He was a strict father that always pushed Reinhold to his best, but was always critical of Reinhold's choice to enter the service of the Temple Knights and later the Order of the Dragoon. His opinion was that Reinhold should focus more on the family and settle down with a wife of his own, but was forced to watch as his son put his life on the line constantly while not seeing him take much interest in the women of the Pillars. Now at the age of 62 his illness has almost completely robbed him of his life and currently lives in the estate not leaving his room. Lord Trygil passed away during an arson attack on the family estate on the 13th Sun of the of the Fifth Astral Moon in the the Seventh year of the seventh Astral Era.
Name () - Emilie Allemand
Reinhold's mother was far more caring than his father, and encouraged him where his father disapproved. Even when during his musical studies he showed an interest in the flute, more specifically music from outside of Ishgard, she did not stop him in fact she hired someone to teach him and offered them to stay within the Holy See as a Ward of the family. Even when he left to do what she thought was the unthinkable, she never once told him to stop, but instead told him to follow where ever his heart desired. Now at the age of 61 she currently spends most of her time caring for her husband with his illness and is rarely seen. Lady Emilie passed away during an arson attack on the family estate on the 13th Sun of the of the Fifth Astral Moon in the the Seventh year of the seventh Astral Era.
Name () - Ebraux Pidame
Ebraux is Reinhold's manservant, and more importantly a father figure. Ebraux was assigned to Reinhold not long after the lord's birth, and thus Ebraux had a very influential hand in raising the man. Like Reinhold's mother Ebraux was always very supportive of his lord, and grew to become quite proud of the man he was becoming. Ebraux's never wavering support through the years has always been a source of strength for Reinhold, especially amidst his father's negativity. During Reinhold's absent Ebraux stepped up to ensure that very few knew of his disappearance and ran the day to day aspects of the family. Ebraux's only worry about his lord is his apparent loneliness, not one to take well to the way most women of the pillars are, and has grown increasingly worried as his charge gets older still with no sign of settling down. Yet he was not remiss when he saw his lord's affection for one who recently helped him and his done much to encourage Reinhold forward. Ebraux passed away during an arson attack on the family estate on the 13th Sun of the of the Fifth Astral Moon in the the Seventh year of the seventh Astral Era.

Relations (PC)

Relations (PC)

Overview
During Reinhold's time in Eorzea Unexplored his initial encounters with Eddard were hostile and involved kidnapping the man. Yet now free of the control that had forced him to do such things the relationship between the two can be described as tense, and that is putting it lightly. Though there is a form of grudging respect between the two for their martial skill, they remain at odds at each other for many reasons. As of late that has been seen even more as Reinhold is suspect of the man's activities, most notably his recent outburst and the connection to the man who set Lady Madison's rooms ablaze.
Overview
Since her drive to free Reinhold from the control that held in thrall for two years Reinhold has remained grateful to the woman for all that she has done for him. Steadily through his interactions though he has started to fall for her despite the complications that has caused. To those who see them interact, which is quiet often as they are very rarely seen apart, one begins to wonder if there is not more between them than that of a Knight and his charge. Yet if anyone confronts him on such things he deflects the conversation or plainly states its no ones business but his own. As of late though something seems to have come between the two as Madison is never seen anymore and any mention of her around Reinhold only causes him to look pained and angry. Even more noticeable is that the bracelet he always wore marked with the sign of the Spinner, that appeared on him when he nearly fell during the fight with Eorzea Unexplored, is no longer being worn by him.
Overview
One of the newest recruits to the Pathfinders, and a very recent acquaintance of Reinhold, Abagail has managed to secure the knight's trust. After a period of poking and prodding Reinhold finally managed to learn the secret he knew she kept. Yet even finding out about her past and her identity as a Garlean has done nothing to change his opinion of the woman. To him she is still a trusted physician, and now a close and trusted friend. Even with his moment of telling her secret to someone without her permission, while he believed he did the right thing he still felt terrible and guilty about it. Now the two seem quite lose, often sharing each others company, though Abagail has developed this extreme need to make the man uncomfortable and blush. Still she is one of the few he will turn to when things are going poorly, whether to vent, get ideas, or just release tension with one of their extremely reckless and dangerous spars. Most recently though he has begun to realize that through her constant need to see him smile and be happy that he has developed something for her. He doesn't know what just yet and is still confused with all that is going on, but one thing is for certain they are indeed growing closer. Update (9/10): Having worked through the confusion after he realized what he was feeling Reinhold made it clear to her that he wanted to be with her. Though not in a rush for anything more serious just yet, he has shown no difficulty in saying how he feels to others. Even if the announcement of it was in response to a dare.
Overview
The initial relationship between Reinhold and Zigovali was without a doubt strained. The man held a grudge at first against Reinhold for his actions when he was acting under an alias and under an influence he could not control. Yet over the course of Reinhold's presence with the Pathfinders the two have come to a better understanding with one another. While it cannot be said that things are always positive between them they do, for the most part, have a positive working relationship. Each seeking the other out with assistance for things in areas not of their forte.
Overview
Ehfi is a hard one for Reinhold to get a read on which almost always leads to him getting in trouble. He respects her abilities and her willingness to help without fail, but he has also seen the firmer and darker side of her. Having witnesses her unflinching reaction to his torture of a captured slaver as well as her demeanor when Abagail and he became far too reckless with their spars he knows not only can she take care of herself, but those that upset her should probably get away quickly.
Overview
Yet another Pathfinder he had a rocky start with both Jin and Reinhold are seemingly quite comfortable working with each other, and to some may start seeming more like friends. For his part Reinhold respects the Xaela and his abilities greatly, and agrees with many of his assumptions on how things should be handled.
Overview
One of the few Pathfinders he had little issues getting along with right away Reinhold easily counts Miss Himeko as a friend as well as an ally. He finds no issues speaking with her, nor with being blunt as is his way for the most part. He also is quite appreciative of the fact that she is one of the few that is not constantly hounding him on whether or not there is something between him and Lady Madison, making him trust her even more. If he were to say there was anything he would take issue with in regards to her it would be her need to seemingly constantly overwork herself. With her recent issues of realizing that her appearance as a Raen was nothing more than a glamour, one broken by her brother, he spared no effort to convince her to remain with the Pathfinders. The now hyuran Sharlayan still holds a place of trust with him and he wishes she would take his advice and go on a vacation. To him she /really/ needs it.
Overview
Keigan is one that constantly perplexes Reinhold. While at times he things he has the man figured out there are other times where Keigan surprises him. The man seemingly comes off as rough and rather blunt and childish, yet at times he has a way of convincing others that is rather devious. Such as his trapping Shou in a web of words in regards to how she felt about the truth of Abagial, or even his trapping of Reinhold himself in regards to his beliefs on sentient technology. He has learned to trust the man's judgement for the most part, but still reserves his judgement until he is certain there are no more surprises.
Overview
Of all the things that Reinhold has learned of Eaubront it is that the man loves his drinking games. Any time there seems to be a gathering of Pathfinders he is certain you can find Eaubront in the middle of it supporting the idea of a drinking game, often times with a drink already in hand. Otherwise Reinhold respects him to a degree and even was surprised by the man's martial prowess, not thinking much of him at first. Still there are times he finds it difficult to take him seriously, but then again when one is following through on a dare to kiss a man he dislikes, or sleeping with a brothel worker in the middle of a mission it's not hard to see why that is.

History

Glass-circle.png History

Having been born into nobility Reinhold's childhood held very little that could be described as negative except for a disapproving father. His days consisted of martial training as well as other normal school lessons, though his favorite tended to be his music lessons arranged by his mother. His fondness for foreign music resulted in a tutor from Gridania being hired before the Gates of Judgement were closed. As he grew he showed a great talent with the lance, though he was also formidable with a sword in hand as well.

When he came of age he wasted no time in joining the Temple Knights, despite the objections of his father. During his service to the Temple Knights he threw himself into the way of danger without thought to his own life, his only priority being the protection of his comrades and the citizens of Ishgard. This quickly earned him the respect of those in the Knights as well as others as he seemed to be more in line with the way of thinking of those who grew up in the Foundation. Many battles were fought during his time with the Temple Knights, but the moment that would propel him further happened three years after he joined the Knights. His unit was out on patrol near Steel Vigil when they came under attack by Dravanians. The fight went south for the group quickly and they found themselves pinned as a wyvern sought to make short work of them. As he had before, he threw caution to the wind and charged forward to meet the beast head on. He remembers the moment vaguely as adrenaline flooded his body and he reacted more on instinct than any rational thought, but in the end he skewered the wyvern and by doing so turned the fight around until the unit sent the Dravanians into retreat. Word of his deeds, and further deeds as more dragons fell at his hand quickly reached the Order of the Dragoons, which a year after his first kill offered him the chance to join their number.

His time in with the Dragoons was one that he will never forget, as they fought without any regards to themselves, only the fact that they were the first line of defense against the dragons. Time after time he brought those attacking Ishgard down under his lance, and his reputation among his fellow dragoons became well earned. One time in particular remains etched in the memories of those who witnessed it. Reinhold and three other dragoons had been summoned to Stone Vigil, but they were so badly out numbered that the three with him fell and Reinhold himself was left severely wounded. When he finally came to at Camp Dragonhead he was horrified to learn that his comrades had all been killed, but his actions after that marked the first time anyone felt any fear around him. His anger had been so great that he seemingly shut down and stopped caring. Over the next few weeks he could be seen stopping by a blacksmith seemingly trying to get new suit of drachen armor. Three weeks after his comrades had been lost Reinhold set out once more, this time in a set of metallic blue drachen armor, and a lance of unknown make giving off the same eerie blue glow. He set off in hunt of the beast that slew his fellow dragoons and eventually he found it, and engaged it alone. Those that witnessed the battle are likely not soon going to forget the resplendent blue flames that lit the night during the battle following every strike of Reinhold's lance, even when the battle turned against him and the wyrm managed to get its jaws around his torso he did not give in. With sheer force of will he drove his lance through the beast's eye and all the way into its skull. Shortly after that Reinhold was given the task of training new recruits in the Order and saw less time in the field because of it.

Then two years ago following a mission to locate a possible allagan relic he and those with him disappeared. During this time Ebraux kept running the house as if nothing changed, and even seemed to have found the funds to do so as well. Recently Reinhold returned to the Holy See and turned himself into the Tribunal claiming that he had committed acts of Treason, but did so against his will. While he felt that he was guilty of the charges he knew he needed to do something to preserve the honor of House Haillenarte and House Allemand and so requested a trial by combat. While victorious he still walks around with that sense of guilt and will stop at nothing to atone for his sins. To help ease his guilt he offered his assistance to Lady Madison in order to provide information on the true mastermind behind the Eorzea Unexplored Free Company. After several grueling and devastating battles the Pathfinders along with Reinhold confronted the mastermind and finally brought this chapter of the man's life close, though Reinhold himself almost paid the ultimate price for the victory as he had stayed behind in the collapsing compound to ensure the safe retreat of his new found allies.

While he escaped death he was not given much time to recover, for news of Nidhogg's impending attack reached the Dragoon, as well as orders to return to Ishgard at once to help in the defense of the city. Despite the protests to the one closest to him he did so, and once more stood between the Dravanians and the citizens of Ishgard. It was gruesome battle as Nidhogg's brood held nothing back in this assault, a battle that once more nearly claimed the knight's life, an occurrence that was becoming all too frequent. News after the battle was scarce, and at first those waiting for him to return were only brought a broken piece of his lance. Much to everyone's great relief though Reinhold himself finally appeared once more, broken and barely stitched back together again, the man vowed that was the last time he was risking his life for the Holy See, a vow that was quickly followed by his retirement from the Temple Knights. Once more he returned to the Pathfinders as they moved into their new estate, one that was supplied by him no less, and began the long road to recovery. Everyday was a challenge for him at this point, being unable to walk of his own accord due to a leg injury was something that seemingly infuriated the man who was accustomed to conflict.

As his recovery neared an end he became embroiled in Ishgardian politics with his ascension to Lord of his house, a fact that did not thrill him in the slightest. Yet this brought him closer to some of the company as they helped him with the transition and showed him support. In return he gladly gave it his all to assist them, most notably Zigovali in his conflict with a mentor who seemed to be more than the young lalafell had known. It was perhaps during this time though his constant closeness to Lady Madison began to be noted, though he continues to deny anything is there and that he remains as her bodyguard. Yet when a move against a man name Trevaine resulted in many Pathfinders, including Madison, to be greatly injured Reinhold confronted Zigovali in anger. It was decided then that should any further action be taken by the Pathfinders that it would be under Reinhold's approval, setting him up to have a more permanent position within the company. Most recently said action against Trevaine resulted in a tie to Reinhold's past with Eorzea Unexplored to come to light, a tie that Reinhold himself was unaware of, scaring the man greatly. In addition the consequences of their actions began to berate the Knight as Zigovali was taken captive, and now Reinhold must deal with the guilt of not having enough control of the situation to prevent that from happening, something that was his responsibility to do.
