As a child they were timid but a good study, doing as others willed of them. When their friend in question was executed, they became scared and shameful. Angry at their clan that they once held in high regard, they fled, their cowardice getting the better of them, and arrived in Limsa. In Limsa, they sought to pass their days quietly, learning smithing and armorcraft as a trade, for their hands were strong from constant training. They met a conjurer who needed a rush repair job but had no gil, so in exchange they showed them a few healing spells in which he/she had a knack for, their attachment to wanting to do right and closeness to the water and wind of Limsa fuelling their aptitude. They were convinced to travel to Gridania and found the guild, learning and feeling they were making a difference.

Born into a ninja clan specializing in assassination techniques, she/he had grown to know only violence. Their high position in the family kept them to training and they made few friends. The one they did make was later found to be a traitor and they were given to him/her as their first assassination assignment. Confronting them and telling them to run made no difference, they learned it was indeed a ruse but that it evolved into a real friendship. Furthermore, if he ran the family would know and they would both be condemned. The family had no lenience for betrayal, not even for one of their own.
Escape to Limsa: In tears, and learning of just how deep and corrupt (and hated) their family was, they abandoned their position after killing their friend (though their friend gave it a little push) and fled to Limsa Lominsa, the only boat they could take, shortly before the uprising in Doma. There, they made a living doing honest work in the trades, shelving their daggers. It was during one of the trade jobs they met a conjurer who noticed their talent with magics and offered a few healing lessons in exchange for the repairs and work they did. They became friends over the time and convincing him/her to come to Gridania and study conjury was easy. He/she sought out healing, feeling as though they found a sort of redemption for their auctions. However, one cannot run from their past.
Present: In Doma, their family was one of the first to rebel and thus caused a massive wipe under Garlean hands. The few that remained sought refuge in Eorzea, particularly their younger sibling whom they had left the legacy to. Seeing them in the boat of refugees when they came to offer their primed healing services; instant recognition. Immediate distrust, and long ago repressed memories flood back. The sibling was left alone and despite the relations they shared as children, those were nothing more than memory in their eyes. He/she said they would fulfil one request as payment for their siblings sacrifice, and upon meeting, they wanted only one thing: Return to the clan and help us rebuild. This meant returning to the life of the dagger, even more useful he/she was for their new healing talents. Undoing years of good service for the sake of a promise and blood ties... The hope of convincing them to dissolve the clan or let them go. The journey has yet begun.
