Physical Attributes

Lucien has medium-length, feathery platinum-blonde hair, fair skin, and sea-green eyes. He is of a middling size, shorter than elezen, roegadyn and male Au Ra, but likely taller than most miqo'te and au ra. His visage seems to be well-kept, and his hair fair and soft, albeit with some strands sticking out. His build is slim and can be called handsome, not terribly muscular but clearly quite lean and able.

Voice & Personality

Lucien is almost always seen to be calm and composed. Cool and rational even in a situation worthy of panic, Lucien is a clear leader of men in spite of his tender years. His voice, too, is clear and easy to listen to: quiet and boyish at most times, but easily able to be raised to shout orders in battle. His personality is one of his greatest assets, oft giving him the reputation of a charismatic young tactician within the Holy See. His dialect is clear of any profanity at almost all times, and anger very rarely reaches it, and he tries his best to show respect and dignity to even his enemies. He does, however, refuse to go all-out unless they prove themselves to be worthy opponents.

Lucien has a great sense of justice, which is sometimes not terribly flexible. Having grown up wishing to be, and training to be a knight, he has a strong desire to protect the weak and help those in need. He is, however, oft naive when it comes to the world outside Ishgard and Coerthas, and is known to easily believe others about certain customs and history until he properly learns about it. He also is not terribly good at comprehending sarcasm and jests.

Being a tactician and leader of men, Lucien is a veritable prodigy in strategic games such as chess, Triple Triad, and many other board- and card-games. He is also fond of studying history, whether it be focused on famous leaders, battles, or politics between nations.

Combat

Lucien is an incredibly talented swordsman and martial artist both, combining these skills with divine magic. In his signature armor, he wears a sword at the hip (somewhat hidden under his cape), but will refuse to use it in a one-on-one battle unless the opponent proves themself to him. When protecting another, however, Lucien will do all he can to obliterate the opposition before others can come to harm. His armor itself is quite the potent weapon, the gauntlets and sabatons outfitted with materials allowing for him to channel holy aether into them, causing dazzling arrays of martial moves, as well as allowing for him to coat his sword, "Retribution", in its signature holy blaze that Lucien oft calls "the Fury's Gaze" as a sort of blessing. The knight foregoes a shield, instead combining his practiced yet flashy swordplay with divine magic and augmented martial arts with his free hand (unless wielding his blade in both hands for a certain motion or spell), legs, and feet.

Dress

Lucien can be seen in a wide variety of clothing and armor sets, most of Ishgardian craft. His signature and favorite armor set consists of a uniform oft worn by holy knights and paladins, consisting of a long blue cape with an inverted red interior, white plate gauntlets and sabatons, and a decorated armored tunic. Lucien usually foregoes a helmet, wishing to show his face both for his friends and for his enemies as a gesture of respect.

History & Identity

Lucien Thevenet was born under the jurisdiction of House Haillenarte, initially growing up as a very handsome and notably intelligent young servant-boy. In his spare time, the boy trained with knights of the high house, and was shown to have an incredibly high natural aptitude for a single blade, though shields were heavy for the young lad. Because of this, he chose not to use a shield all the way into adulthood, instead mastering use of a single sword and a free left hand, using his body as a weapon in of itself in a manner similar to pugilism while wielding a sword. Impressed, the higher-ups of House Haillenarte allowed Lucien to train as a knight, and upon coming of age, he entered the service of Ser Aymeric and the Temple Knights of the Congregation of Our Knights Most Heavenly, where he quickly rose in the ranks due to his intelligence, charisma, and loyalty. He served in the ranks directly under Ser Handeloup de Daimbaux as a leader of men, oft willing to take the Temple Knights on expeditions away from Ishgard in order to see the world and fight the enemies of the Eorzean Alliance that the Holy See so recently joined, in order to repay them for their services.

After some time and after a particular Gyr Abanian mission, however, Lucien decided to resign from the Temple Knights now that Ishgard is in a state of peace and stability, and venture out to learn more about the world. Lucien found his way to his allies he worked with in Gyr Abania, joining their Free Company, "Winds of Hope".
