Basic Info
Hikaru Kayle [Hih-kar-roo Kay-ale] is the older brother to Seto Verasse.
History
Hikaru was born into the K'ayle tribe as K'hikaru Tia, a first born to his mother K'yana. Just like the others in his tribe he spent his early years following the teachings of the tribe, learning about the history of the Miqo'te and their Goddess, Azeyma, the Warden. During these years he never doubted the teachings and he followed and obeyed them like many of the children around him. However at the age of 14 he managed to get his first look at the outside world, a beautiful place filled with races of all kinds a far cry from the dangerous plane his elders once taught him. He learnt of other cultures, over religions and began to question his own.
At the age of 15, Hikaru began to challenge the teachings but made no mention to what he was told or what he based his challenges on. Due to the upraor he caused and his challenges of imperfection in the religious beliefs, him and his mother were banished from the tribe.
Even though word had got around of Hikaru's lack of faith, the leader of the small newly-formed tribe of V'erasse took pity on them and allowed him and his mother to become part of their tribe on the promise that Hikaru would work hard and earn his position. During the first few years, Hikaru kept quiet about his past rantings in not to shame is mother. Many members of the tribe didn't trust him so he spent a lot of time on his own away from them. When he was 16, his brother V'Seto Tia was born.
From the day he was born Hikaru spent a lot of time with his brother, helping his mother to look after him while shielding him from the testimonies from the tribes religious members. He would often clash with his mother in regards to how V'Seto would be brought up, always arguing he should have a free mind and not be tied down by the ways of the tribes people. V'Seto idolised his older brother and would fall asleep listening to Hikaru's stories of great worlds and the different people and creatures.
Feeling the pressure of being a brother to look up to at the age of 21, Hikaru made a bid for the title of the tribes nunh and he won, gaining the name V'Hikaru Nunh. It was at this point other tribe members started to respect him even though he was classed as an outsider. During this time war had broken out in the world of the Hyur against a clan of beastmen's that had settled in the mountains, the Hyur had sought refuge with the Miqo'te but were turned away by their elder. They were however granted land close by. Against the elders wishes Hikaru would sneak out into the camps of the Hyur soldiers bringing them food and herbs. It was here he met Eden, a young male soldier who was fascinated by other cultures and races – just as he was.
The pair would meet up on nights in which Hikaru was supposed to be performing mating rituals with the female clan members – they would spend evenings talking and laughing sharing stories of distant worlds and Eden educated Hikaru in the ways of the Hyur filling in the blanks of stories that Hikaru had come to create himself. This was when Hikaru first felt the feeling of love – though they did not lay together, it was true, Eden loved him and he loved the Hyur. Still, war would play a pivitol point in their story, seperating them forever – Hikaru would never see him again.
It was time for Hikaru to be the nunh he had competed to be but he could not shake the feelings he had experienced with the Hyur boy. Hikaru had refused to mate with any of the female offered instead he tried to remake the feeling of happiness, of laughter and love. None of the clans females were interested in a sentimental, gentle creature and this once again would bring downfall on his position in the clan. Rumor spread that he was incapable of being a nunh, that he had the inability to mate and became the laughing stock of the tribe. Then once his secret travels into the hyur camp were discovered, he decided – to save his mother further embarrassment – to leave the tribe for good. He bid them farewell, leaving his brother a single quiver from his trust bow and arrow and off he went to do what he had dreamed of for years. See other lands and experience new things.
Thus he ended up in Gridania, working as a hunter for the local butchers and fishmongers. People knew his name and they liked him. He for the first time in his life felt like he belonged.
Personality
Hikaru is mature beyond his years and has little time for immaturity and children. As like most Miqo'te, he leads an isolated life, working for the people who buy his hunts and spoils and interacting with the locals around him, without getting involved in any deep conversations or relationship.

Affiliations
Seto Verasse: Seto is Hikaru's younger brother. They have a different last name as Kayle took on the last name from the tribe he was born into and Seto has taken the one he was born into. Hikaru was fond of his brother but the pressure of being someone to look up to lead him to attempting to become a Nunh and then failing to for-fill that role, thus leaving the tribe. He hasn't seen his brother since he was 21.
