A'sana was born in a small Miqo'te settlement somewhere in Gyr Abania though the location of which has long since been lost. She spent the first five years of her life living with her tribe along-side her sister, Delesta, who was three years her senior. Her memories of their life among their tribe are limited due to her age and maybe due to the fact that she tries not to remember what she had because of how violently it was all taken away. Just barely five summers old, A'sana and Delesta were hidden away by their mother just in time to escape their entire tribe being slaughtered in the wake of the Garlean Empire's annexation of Ala Mhigo and her surroundings.
Among the refugees that fled Imperial rule, A'sana found herself in Ul'dah with her sister. Most of their time was spent focused on survival. Pickpocketing, begging and generally doing anything they needed to in order to keep themselves fed and safe. It was with Delesta's encouragement as A'sana started to demonstrate some apttitude towards magic that A'sana started training with the thaumaturges around ten summers old. Her skills and mastery over the basics grew in leaps and bounds until she started taking on more advanced studies. If she couldn't learn from her masters, she would seek and even steal the books she needed to further her training. In the midst of her studies, she also worked alongside her sister, running a crew on the street.
Just shortly after her 21st nameday, everything fell apart. Delesta was caught and sent to prison, having made her last act before capture to warn A'sana to get out of Ul'dah, sacrificing her freedom for Sana's. Heading to Gridania, A'sana would spend some time there studying Conjury before running into an old friend who took her on as his apprentice and an amateur adventurer. Under his instruction, she learned sword play and a new way of combining her knowledge in several schools of magic to better effect. After a time, she would part ways with him to go on her way, traveling, studying and taking most any job that peaked her interest, legal or otherwise. Her voraciousness for knowledge led her far and wide.
Eventually, she would feel the call to return to the only home she's known, settling once again in Ul'dah with the release of her sister after six years of imprisonment.
A'sana is a very toned 4 fulms, 11 ilms tall. Built much like an overly busty dancer or gymnast, she's graceful with the occasional hit of flourish. Her brilliant red hair and striking white eyes tend to be the most recognizable feature of the Miqo'te, her sun darkened complexion offering a startling contrast to her eyes that tends to make them stand out more. Sana tends more towards ornate clothing, usually not afraid to show off a bit of skin from time to time and her rapier is more often than not by her side. She does almost perpetually wearing glasses, though when she doesn't have them on her vision doesn't seem to be affected.

Magic & Aetherial Studies: She’s been studying most everything there is to know about various forms of magic and aetherial influence from a young age. She knows a fair amount about various schools of magic and has practical skill in at least two that most know of.
Martial Arts: A talented swordswoman in the use of a rapier with skill and knowedge in unarmed combat.
Grifting: Though not commonly known, A'sana is a skilled grifter, not above using wit, wiles and flat manipulation to get what she wants.

Her older sister that she will do anything to defend and back up. Though they had a bit of a violent falling out, recent events in A’sana’s life have led to her reevaluate what and who she holds close, her sister being among the few people she holds close to her. Delesta sacrificed much to ensure that A’sana had every chance in life and she credits her sister for making her the woman she is. They are rebuilding from their falling out, but tension in their relationship won’t stop her from killing to defend her sister.
Character's Thoughts:“I wish work hadn’t kept me from keeping up with the few friendships I have. I would have liked to have gotten to spend more time with her…”
Hana was a friend, one of the few A’sana actually called her friend, from the Black Card Society. Recent events have led to the disappearance of Hana and A’sana is fairly certain her friend is no longer among the living.
Character's Thoughts:“She’s...and odd one. Determined to be my friend and to help me defeat a demon from my past. I trust her...I don’t know why, but I trust her.”
Zaya is another of the few that she has bothered to consider a friend from the Black Card Society. They have bonded over shared, similar histories and traumas and Zaya knows of one of the darkest times in A’sana’s life.
Character's Thoughts:“He’s quite literally insane and one of the most sadistic people I know besides a very limited list that I can count on one hand. I can see why my sister likes him...doesn’t hurt he’s not hard to look at.”
A recent addition to her life, A’sana considers Asema a friend as well as being a lover. Chaotic, sadistic and violent, she likes that he doesn’t balk from a side of herself that she’s trying to reconnect with.
Character's Thoughts:“She’s this odd mix of sweet naive, innocence...Battle happy warrior and well...sultry minx. She’s interesting and I like her. I see why Del is head over heels for her.”
Still getting to know Hayle, A’sana likes her enough to consider the woman a friend as well as her being a new lover.
Character's Thoughts:“He was my mate. Was being the key there. He walked out on me. He walked out on the Society. How do you tell someone you fucking love them and then just leave like it’s nothing?”
Until recently, A’sana was devoted to Aether. She still has feelings for him, still loves him, but she hates him for breaking her heart and leaving. He knows things about her past, truths that she’s told very few. Some things even her sister doesn’t know. If she forgives him is currently up to her mood towards him when he comes up in discussion, ranging anywhere from simply not wanting to speak about him to raging about wanting his head for leaving. His leaving was the final straw that led to A’sana choosing to abandon her post as a leader within the Society.
Character's Thoughts:“She was supposed to be my fucking friend, but all she did was bitch and be angry at me for all the stupid shit. I don’t care if she’s breeding, I’ll fucking kill her. Bitter ass bitch.”
The relationship between Veicette and A’sana has been rocky from the start. Conflict and a lack of understanding between each other seems to be the main drive for their hatred. Veicette was the driving force that would lead to A’sana being punished harshly by the leaders of the Society, which led to the scars that A’sana carries on her back. While there was a time where they had come to an understanding and were even friends, recent events led to an explosive change of feelings between the two and A’sana eventually leaving her post as a leader within the Society due to it and other factors.

Xavion comes from a dark period in A’sana’s life. A mark who turned the tables on the grifter, A’sana found herself at his mercy. The things he did to her and made her do haunt her in heavily repressed memories and dreams. He has been the driving factor for her to risk anything and everything to gain more and more power in recent years, but she isn’t sure that everything she’s learned will be enough.
