Basic Info

A seemingly young Xaela woman who claimed to once be part of the Garlean Empire. Defector, traitor, spy; considering her current whereabouts, a handful of labels can be applied to her. Whether Eorzeans would let bygones be bygones though, well, that was a matter up to each individual. Garlemald left its mark and Alunshar accepted the skepticism and distrust thrown her way. That being said, it hasn't been easy adjusting to a life outside of Garlean rule. Since she took up residence in Limsa Lominsa, Alunshar's frequent visits to the local fishermans' guild are met with little joy.

Biography

Alunshar’s humble beginnings began on a river shore somewhere within the Othard Steppes. With a mother and father, she was born into the Ejinn tribe where she was taught to swim long before ever taking her first step. Many of the children found curiosity in the depths of the rivers and lakes they roamed and Alunshar was no different. She developed an interest in the bones, discarded weapons, and oddly shaped fragments of rock buried beneath the riverbeds. This is turn quickly developed her body to stay underwater for long periods of time--a notable skill all her tribeskin proudly acquired over the cycles. However, due to the Ejinn's preferred method of travel, Alunshar was unable to keep many of the treasures she found. Not to be dampened by such things though, she often sat with the older members of her tribe to hear stories of the many things she came across. Many members thought she would have grown to be a storyteller, but that dream never came. Sadly, not long after her sixth cycle, Alunshar's life took a drastic turn. A powerful storm struck the area the Ejinn were residing at the time which made the water too dangerous to be in or around. They took to higher ground to escape the following flood but even then their safety wasn't guaranteed. Among several unfortunate elders and a handful of children, Alunshar was swept away by the raging waters. Miraculously though, she survived the ordeal.

Stranded and alone, it wasn’t long until Garlean scouts stumbled across her. From there, she was seized and put into the Empire’s regime as as Alunshar aan Domitius. While a language barrier muddied the beginning of her training, the Xaela's culture of war and subjugation were similar to those displayed by her captors. She understood her life from there on would be different, so she obediently followed the orders of her superiors in return for mercy and an 'enlightened' education. Immediately after graduating from training, Alunshar was sent to monitor a Doman village for a handful of cycles. During her time, she discovered and reported a rebellion scheme which was swiftly dealt with. This became her first and only meritable action but the relationship she developed with the local Domans turned into bitter hostility. Surprisingly, not long after the Calamity, Alunshar was pulled from her post in Doma to receive the title of Centurion. Thus, Alunshar quo Domitius became her new name. Once again, however, Alunshar's life took a turn. Newly appointed and suddenly in charge of some eighty soldiers, she was given a brief time to acquaint herself with her men before being sent to Castrum Meridianum. She quickly grew discontent with her superiors as well as her connection to the Empire. When Operation Archon hit the Castrum at full swing, she slipped into the Thanalan desert amidst the chaos.

From there, she spent some time acclimating in Ul'dah. Having to unlearn the strict mannerisms ingrained into her from her academy days, Alunshar found it difficult to properly mingle among the local Uldahns. Understandably, many found her odd and intimidating which didn't side well in addition to the rather lukewarm reception of the growing presence of Au Ra in the city. In time, Alunshar acquired enough gil to settle elsewhere and traveled to Limsa Lominsa. She immediately desired to start anew afterward and sought a way to live in relative peace. It came to her attention that diving would easily be a forte of hers, so Alunshar decided to find a humble life in that.
