[edit] Details Personality Relationships Rumors Gallery OOC Notes GENERAL INFORMATION Born into House L'stelle, a noble family sworn to House Haillenarte, Arianase grew up in the upper ranks of Ishgardian society. A quick wit and the mind of a strategist carried him well through his studies, and subsequent enlistment with The Temple Knights. With spear in hand, he was eventually promoted into the Order of Knights Dragoon, where he had been up until the end of the Dragonsong War. A chance encounter while away from Ishgard introduced him to Quaesitum Noctis, who extended their hand to him as a way to use his skills for the greater good. As his Order no longer had a purpose due to the newfound peace with the Dravanians, he accepted their proposal and now serves as Lord of Lancier, commander of Quaesitum Noctis' medicinal, magical, and combat forces. Due to unforeseen circumstances, however, he has taken up active leadership of the company, along with proposing a reform to its ranks to better manage its members. APPEARANCE An Elezen of average height, Arianase has a slightly wirey build, made of lean muscle due to his profession. He keeps his black hair short and slicked back. His sea-green eyes are often sharp, giving him a harsher exterior than he truly holds. Notable Traits: ■ Eyepatch - More often than not, Arianase sports an eyepatch over his right eye so as to cover an injury he sustained during the Dragonsong War. The skin beneath is discolored and jagged, and he has lost most of his sight save for dim shifts of light. His right eye has since developed a film, fading the color. ■ Ears - As an Elezen, pointed ears are the norm. As a noble, through generations of 'selective breeding', his ears are quite long. Some say it gives him an appearance higher than his station, but he often just laments on how difficult headgear is for him. ■ Scars - Most visible to others is the long scar on his left cheek, several years old and slightly raised on the skin. Disrobed, he has a few larger scars along his body (burn scarring along his shoulder, a puncture scar in his side, various laceration scars). Though he has no shame of how he received his markings, he is sometimes insecure, finding a choice few to be 'unsightly'. PERSONALITY ISFJ L I K E S ■ Name - ■ Name - D I S L I K E S ■ Mistreatment - Though born noble, he was never one to hold his standing above others, and those that do so will be quickly corrected if in his vicinity. Accounts of him intervening with nobles and commoners are well into several dozen at this point, much to his Father's chagrin. ■ Hot Weather - Being born in the North, he has a fairly strong tolerance for cold. Unfortunately, Quaesitum Noctis' has its headquarters in the Goblet district in Ul'dah. Don't expect to see him outside much. H O B B I E S ■ Reading - On his (very limited) off time, Arianase can often be found with his nose in a book. His collection largely contains books on the histories Ishgard (though with the revelations post-Dragonsong War, he's looking elsewhere for truth) and other lands, or borrowed volumes of the arcane arts, of which he has little talent for. The remainder of his collection contains tomes on metalwork and armor crafting, and a small journal of recipes from one of his family's houseservants that has since been scribbled in by himself as well. S T R E N G T H S ■ Strategist - Disregarding his military training, Arianase has always had a knack for planning, and the creativity for unorthodox methods. Efficiency over all is usually his goal, of which he is especially thoughtful when others are involved. ■ - W E A K N E S S E S ■ Recklessness - Despite his ability to formulate plans to the T, he also has a penchant for sending himself headlong into danger. When it comes to the safety of others (so long as not to their detriment), his heart goes before his head, and he has no issues with carrying out what he finds right. ■ Workaholic - If not out on a mission, or training new recruits, he can usually be found in his office. His desk is often littered with paperwork, and tomes and scrolls. He's very much one to take on more tasks than he can handle individually, partly of the mentality of 'if you want something done right...'. M O T I V A T I O N S ■ Redemption - With the current state of Ishgard, along with the rather unsavory history that has been dug up, he finds himself out of place. Over a thousand year old war, of which he became a dragon slaying specialist for, now in a gray zone. Though difficult, he intends to move forward, to fight for something more clear cut, and extend his skills to those beyond the walls of the North.
