[edit] Details Personality Relationships Rumors Gallery OOC Notes GENERAL INFORMATION Damien Takayama, originally born of the Tumet tribe, was born a "cursed" child. Sharpened teeth, slit eyes, and a face which showed no emotion, not even to cry earned him the nickname, "Cursed One." From then on, he was ostracized from the tribe's children, and even looked down with disgust by some of the adult's, due to his lack of expression, and for the fact he seemed to feel no pain. Up until the trial where the children were given a chance to receive their name and enter the tribe, he was constantly beaten, abused, and mistreated. When time came to escape the bonds of the tree, he was the first to escape, but the only one not to return to the tribe. He began to travel the Steppes alone at the age of ten, encountering countless dangers and trials, finding three years slowly passing by. It was when he reached the age of thirteen that he was found by an old, retired Sharlayan researcher, Damien Caelcator. The researcher took him in, a nameless child, and brought him back to his home in Kugane. It was there that the silent and reserved child learned of true love and affection, the researcher having taken him in as his own son. The years quickly passed, and once 18, the child, though he could no longer truly be called so, had to see his father figure pass away from old age. Before he passed, he bid the child to take his name, and to live a new life as Damien. Damien soon found a new home in the arms of a small Yakuza gang in Kugane, where he quickly climbed the ranks with enormous strength, a numbness to pain, and an extremely large metal club. He continued this life for seven years, and was given the surname by the gang's boss of, "Takayama." Soon after he turned twenty-five, the small gang was struck by a much greater foe, and was forced to disband, else face death. It was then that Damien Takayama boarded a ship to Eorzea, becoming a wanderer in search of something more. APPEARANCE Damien, like many Xaela, is tall in height, nearing seven feet, with a built body frame honed by years of fighting and club swinging. His most unique features are on his face, though he tends to wear face masks or coverings whenever out in public. These features include his heterochromatic eyes, with pupils that look seemingly like slits. His teeth since he was born were sharpened, hence why he was often seen as a cursed beast by his original tribe. He dyes the top of his hair white, though the reason behind this is kept a secret. His scales are a deep black, except for certain spots where a deep red can be seen, usually on his extremities (e.g: tips of horns, and the end of his tail. PERSONALITY Damien would be described by some as cold, emotionless, and distant, though the truth of the matter is that he is simply a quiet, and reserved person. He tends to keep people at arm's length, his past experiences making him reluctant to get close to anyone. His voice tends to reflect this, as he would often speak in a low, monotone manner. Those who would be closer to him though would find he is actually quite emotional, however he is reluctant to show this on the outside. This is what leads to the rumors of his calm ruthlessness, which is actually caused by his ability to completely bury his emotions from showing on the surface, despite the torrent of emotions he is feeling on the outside. L I K E S ■ Scenery. Damien absolutely adores enjoying a quiet day, simply looking out and enjoying scenery. Doubly so when he has a warm drink by his side. ■ Nature. Though he spent some time in Kugane and other city-states, nature is much more comforting and relaxing for him. Whenever something bothers him, he tends to wander in nature as he seeks peace. D I S L I K E S ■ Noisiness'. While loud noises do not necessarily bother him, purposeful cacophony of sounds created with malicious intent is one of the quickest ways to anger him. ■ Wastefulness.Much of his life was a fight for survival, and he accustomed himself to using everything around him, so when he sees frivolous waste, he can become irked. H O B B I E S ■ Sparring/Training.Damien is a firm believer that the person you must be hardest on is yourself. Therefore he enjoys training himself and honing his skills through sparring. ■ Gardening. One of his better kept secrets, Damien enjoys gardening, though on a small scale. He particularly enjoys growing his own tea leaves. S T R E N G T H S ■ Physique. A mix of aspects make his body one of his greatest strength. His large frame built over the years, along with his inability to feel pain, makes it so in a fight he is quite frightening, and difficult to put down. ■ Understanding. Despite some believing him to be an unfeeling machine, he is extremely understanding of other's situations, having experienced much strife in his life. He is willing to accept even the worst aspects of those close to him. W E A K N E S S E S ■ First Impressions. His cold, emotionless tone, along with his tendency to hide his face from others, usually causes misunderstandings and poor first impressions. ■ Socially Unaware. Despite being a part of society for a while now, he can be completely unaware of his poor attitude, or the fact he is leaving a bad impression due to his words or actions. ■ Unexpressive. His inexpressiveness causes many to see him as a cruel and ruthless person, when the reality he is just hiding his emotions deep within, and carries out his actions in a pragmatic fashion. I have been RPing for a while, and recently took a break from the game for a couple of months, and have decided to get back into it. Damien is my new character who I have been working with, and essentially my main focus right now! I am up for most RP, preferring more mature, possibly dark RP, though I do also enjoy more light hearted, slice of life RP as well! I am based out of Texas on the CST timezone, and am usually in game in the evening into late into the night. I RP both in game and on discord, but know I can sometimes take a bit on discord! I am a bit shy when approaching people, so I am sorry about that haha, but either way I look forward to RPing with y'all! ALSO, I am looking for an RP FC, and am open to anything, though I would prefer a more mature RP FC! If Damien seems like someone who could possibly fit in to your FC, please let me know!!! Personal RP Limits I am up for most RP, as long as it does not maim/kill/ or cause some kind of damage to my character unless it is extensively talked about before hand. I do enjoy mature, and darker RP, and my limits for such RP can be talked about if you are interest in RPing! Also I am not a big fan of ERP so please do not expect any kind with Devrim, as romance is something he has absolutely no experience with. CHARACTER TIDBITS Potential Plot Hooks If you have a character who is more privy to the going ons of the darker side of Kugane, you have likely heard of Damien. So feel free to approach him with this in mind. If you are someone who is interested in Damien fighting ability, he looks like someone who can easily carry himself in a fight, especially with the large club he tends to carry over his back. Most RP I am up for, so if you simply interested in walking up to Damien because you are curious, please feel free to do so! Though in game, unless I have the RP symbol up, I am not RPing at the moment. Character Lore Adherence I do not mind at all if you lore bend or if your character as some unique aspect that is not fully explored within the game. I will however not enjoy someone who is an extreme lore breaker which detracts from RP.
