Appearance
Hair & Eyes
Al'vain's sun bleached hair typically hangs loosely down to his shoulders, kept down with his wide brimmed hat. He has two dark eyes set in sockets that seem perpetually ringed with fatigue. Closer inspection of his eyes would reveal they contain no irises. They are unnaturally black from sclera to pupil.
Physique & Markings
The sun has long since darkened Al'vain's fair complexion and has given him a rather grizzled presence. The man is thin without looking scrawny, a body used to being on his feet or in the saddle most of his days. The only distinguishing marks, apart from is unnaturally black eyes the the long scar trailing up from his lower lip to his cheek.
Hygiene & Attire
Al'vain wears dust almost as well as his rough leather clothes. He typically is seen in dark browns or other earth tones, designed to help blend in with the dark earth of Gyr Abania.
Personality
Psychological Profile
ESTP. The Entrepreneur. ESTPs are spontaneous, active folks. Like the other SPs, ESTPs get great satisfaction from acting on their impulses. Activities involving great power, speed, thrill and risk are attractive to the ESTP. Chronic stifling of these impulses makes the ESTP feel "dead inside". Gamesmanship is the calling card of the ESTP. Persons of this type have a natural drive to best the competition. Some of the most successful salespersons are ESTPs. P.T. Barnum ("Never give a sucker an even break") illustrates the unscrupulous contingent of this type. Almost unconsciously ESTPs look for nonverbal, nearly subliminal cues as to what makes their quarry "tick". Once they know, they wait for just the right time to trump the unsuspecting victim's ace and glory in their conquest. Oddly enough, ESTPs seem to admire and respect anyone who can beat them at their own game. "If I was any better, I couldn't stand it!" To an ESTP, admission of weakness feels like failure. He admires strength in himself and in others. "Shock effect" is a favored technique of this type to get the attention of his audience. ESTPs love to be at center stage, demonstrating feats of wonder and daring.

Low and with a slight rasp, Al'vain speaks in a distinctive Ala Mhigan accent. Though he is well educated, he chooses to speak with a lot of inflection and slang.
Philosophy & Mannerisms
Al'vain does not care about you. He does not care about your family. He does not care about your thoughts or feelings. You are simply another target to him, one that he has not yet been paid to collect. He has a few quirks that he exhibits in everyday life. He is often rude without being crass, he will often act more polite around women, and typically treats them with an outward display of respect, and while he usually wears his distinctive wide brimmed hat, he always removes it when in doors, makeing a point to correct others who abstain from this practice.

Silent Watchers: Al'vain is almost always tailed by several members of the immortals. These silent figures are masters of subtlety and stealth, able to blend into crowd and landscape alike. Their ability to seemingly blend into nearly any environment make their exact numbers unknown.
All Seeing Eye: The black eyes of Al'vain are uncanny in their sharpness.
Character Spoilers: Al'vain's eyes have been replaced with biological magitek hybrids. With them he is able to see a much broader range of visible light including ultraviolet and infrared. They are so acute that he claims to be able to see the vibrations of a mouse as it scurries through the desert sands from 30 paces.
Combat Abilities
Note: These are used within the Obsidian Court's original battle system. These may not necessarily be relevant in standard role-play.
Called Shot: Al'vain aims and fires and a specific point on his target's body. Various effects result from this hit.
-Head: The bullet grazes the target's head, stunning them for 1-3 rounds. (Roll vs Roll)
-Stomach: The bullet pierces the target's gut. This extremely painful shot nauseates the target and causes bleeding damage.
-Leg: The bullet strikes the leg knocking the target prone and, impairing their movement. Their move speed is reduced by half as they become hobbled.
-Softpoint: The bullet strikes a soft spot on the target, either causing max damage or a specific action. (i.e. Shooting a saddle strap to unseat a rider.
Draw: Reaction. Al'vain draws his pistol and fires with unnatural speed, shooting the weapon from his target's hand, negating their attack.

Elasium
Elam Al'vain was born Elasium cen Artis, a citizen of the Garlean Empire. While being loyal citizens, Elasium's parents were mere hyurs and lacked the proper pedigree to rise beyond their more modest lives in the empire. Once Ala Mhigo fell to the empire, Elasium's father left to the west, thinking they could use the oppourtunity to carve out a new life in the new territory of the empire.

RP Limits
I like to consider myself a flexible player who is willing to commit to a number of different types of scenes and role-play scenarios, but I have limits. If something is on the play list, assume it means yes, as long as it's within the context of the current play or ongoing plot. No's are typically a hard no but given appropriate context we can discuss it.
I will play just about anything mature within reason.
Ask about injuries, dependences, and relationship advancements.
I won't play I generally will accept most RP as long as it is relevant to the situation. I reserve the right to back out of a RP if I do not like the direction it is headed.
RP Hooks
While the below is by no means comprehensive, it's a kind of spring board for walk-up RP. Longer plots that are meant to run for more than a few quick RP's, please feel free to send me a tell so we can work out a good reason for our characters to get to know one another. I'm always looking for RP, so please consider the following as for reasons you may know of Dovienya:
Underworld Contact: If your character is well versed in Eorzea's seedy underbelly, then you may have heard of 'The Immortals'.
Business Contact: If your character is heavily involved in the mercantile arts, then perhaps you would know to be wary making shipments through Gyr Abania. It's said that the Immortals take their toll from passing through their lands.
Ala Mhigan: If your character is involved in Ala Mhigo or the Ala Mhigan provisional government, you may be familiar with Al'vain, or at least the steep price on his head.
Liberation Veteran: If your character is an old mercenary or soldier that fought for Ala Mhigan liberation, you may recognize Al'vain as one that killed for the Garlean Empire on a few occasions.
Garlean Empire: If your character is involved in the Empire, especially during the Ala Mhigan occuption you may be familiar with the contract killer known as 'Al'vain'.

There is a lot of information on this character wiki, but it is by no means completely comprehensive. There are chunks of backstory that are left intentionally vague so that details can be later added as developed through creative writing or in role-play revelation. Feel free to use Common or Uncommon rumors freely, if you want to use a Rare Rumor as a plot hook or to spark RP, I would ask that you send me a tell first, to make certain it's acceptable. The line in between IC and OOC is very important. While I do seek to make friends and connections OOC, Dovienya is not a good person IC. If I ever say something to offend, kindly let me know OOC!
