This character article or section of a character article is a stub -- a small, but growing, work in progress. If you're the creator of this character, why not consider expanding it?

Fenenoix Ekrent is a wanderer, a fighter, a former mercenary, and an adventurer (he notes that mercenary and adventurer are almost identical jobs for him, the only difference being the guilds and ratio of jobs he is willing to carry out). Years ago, he fled his home city of Ala Mhigo after the gruesome butchering of the Resistance there, shortly before the Calamity. Though the Eorzean gods were banned in the city while he was living within it, he quickly took to the goddess Nymeia, the weaver of fate, after he left the city-state for other parts. He keeps up a cheerful and carefree demeanor, though anyone able to become close enough to him may be able to tell that this demeanor is not always genuine.

Character

General

Fenenoix Ekrent, or "Fen" for short, is a wandering adventurer from Ala Mhigo. Those who meet him generally remember him for his theatrics, his near-constant smile, and his scatterbrained behavior. Of the city-states, Fen seems to prefer Ul'dah for unknown reasons, though he visits the others for various reasons, ranging from catching shows at the ampitheatre in Gridania to eating out in Limsa Lominsa.

Appearance

Fen looks about his age (20), maybe younger, with youthful features and a chipper smile. However, evidence of a hard-fought life is scattered all about his body in the form of small scars left over from numerous fights. His emerald green eyes sparkle from behind messy, dirty-blonde hair that falls in front of his forehead. His height is a bit on the short side for most Elezen, and though his skin has a small bit of a grey hue to it, his clan is difficult to distinguish from appearance alone. Pearly white teeth show when he grins... which is often and a short, blonde beard graces his chin.

Clothing of choice varies. When he's on-the-job, he'll wear very light armor, favoring blues or browns. When simply out and about, he is often seen wearing a brown, caped greatcoat over his shoulders, collar turned up, with a light tunic underneath. He tends to like sandals as far as footwear goes and seems to enjoy wearing turbans.

Behavior

For the average individual, Fen is... unpredictable. He seems to do as he pleases, which varies depending on the situation, and appears to do so without much thought given to it or its possible outcomes. To the more perceptive, however, they might see Fen as an impulsive person, but clever, prideful in many respects, but also kind. It's true that he does as he pleases, but when push comes to shove, he will help nearly anyone in need, even at his own expense. He generally disregards the opinions of strangers on him, but greatly values "presentation" in almost everything he does. The motivation seems more to please himself than to present a pleasing image to those around him.

Fen is notable for being almost constantly cheerful, and happy grins are common from him in all manner of situations, from simple conversation to combat. He is not necessarily what most would call a "player," though he has admitted to enjoying female company and tends to passively flirt with the opposite sex when in taverns and such. Curiously, he gets embarrassed if the flirts are returned or if he is forced to go more in-depth into his otherwise passive... well, passes. He seems to flirt merely to have fun, not generally with any plan in mind for an end result.

The Elezen often acts quite impulsively, but when given time enough to think out a plan, he is, in fact, rather clever and ingenuitive. Unfortunately, Fen is also easily bored and will seek out ways of entertaining himself, such as picking fights with people he dislikes, chatting up taverns, or any number of other things. A common excuse for when he doesn't want to do things is that it "isn't very much fun."

Combat

General

Fen's specialty is close-up, melee combat. In Ala Mhigo, he trained in a form of hand-to-hand combat ((Akin to real-world Tai Chi Cheun)) that he has since adapted to a set of fighting claws, his weapons of choice. If need be, he will switch to a pair of hora, though curiously, his talent when using these weapons is noticably less than when using claws or his bare hands. He focuses heavily on disorienting his foes, disarming them, literally disarming them, or otherwise incapacitating them. He tends to have tunnel-vision when in a serious fight, though in more casual situations, he becomes more easily distracted.

On the side, he is also a surprisingly good aim when throwing knives, axes, or even his own claw sets.

Relationships

Family

Fen presumably still has family in Ala Mhigo, though he rarely speaks of them for whatever reason. He was an only child, raised apart from most cousins or non-immediate family, living with his father and mother.

Friends

Despite his cheerful attitude, Fen rarely gets too close to people. As such, he has numerous "friendly aquaintences," but few people he considers total friends. Part of this is due to his wandering nature, but part of it appears to be a conscious effort, for reasons he generally keeps to himself. He will occasionally mention a "good friend" in Ala Mhigo, though he keeps many details of her ambiguous.

Enemies

Fen considers himself an enemy of the Empire, but has made few true enemies over the course of his wanderings. He says that he leaves towns at the first sign of him wearing out the welcome, so this may contribute to the low enemy-count.
