Lawful Neutral. General Information Kharin is a Thavnairian blade dancer of Radz-at-Han, the Near East's capital. He previously belonged to an organisation called the Seekers, an elite among the noble guard in the Thavnairian Court. However, he was left the lone survivor of the Seekers after a battle with a djinn in the city, losing his fiancé in the process. Devastated by the loss, he made the decision to journey to Eorzea, having promised his beloved that he would follow his heart, and try to live a happy and fulfilled life as an adventurer. Bearing Laterality Scars Markings Style Proud, Determined Right-handed None Back tattoo Traditional Hair and Eyes Kharin has mostly shoulder-length brown hair, with a slight reddish tint to it. He does have one longer part, worn in a long braid at the back of his head that falls down his back. His eyes are typical of a Seeker of the Sun, a leafy green in colour. Physique and Markings Kharin has an athletic, muscular build by Miqo'te standards. He has danced all his life, and his enrolling in the Seekers only brought him more reason to train himself physically. He bears a tattoo on his upper back, left side, depicting a rose in memory of his late lover's favourite saying. Hygiene and Attire Kharin keeps himself extremely well-groomed, and you would be very lucky to find him ever letting himself go. However, his sense of duty always comes first and that occasionally means setting luxury aside. In terms of his attire, he usually wears a traditional Thavnarian dancer's outfit in combat, switching to something a little more comfortable when the situation allows. Personality Personality Kharin is a man who has seen great difficulty in his early life; being a child of poverty in Radz-at-Han was not an easy thing, and he stayed optomistic in the face of what was a slave-driven economy at the time. He has been called stoic in the past, often putting the needs of others before his own and suffering in silence. He is not often very vocal about his feelings, quite happy being the quieter person in a conversation and letting others talk while he listens. He fights with a fierce dedication that is only rivalled by his loyalty: a true believer in paying one's personal debts. Voice Click for a voice reference! History Sixth Astral Era Childhood Kharin was born to slaves in the slums of Radz-at-Han. In a life he does all he can to forget, he was passed around from house to house among the noble families, separated from his parents once he was old enough to be put to work. He learned to dance in an effort to keep himself clear of the more dangerous duties slaves were made to perform, often managing to get himself better living conditions in the process. Some families treated him as no better than a pet due to his Miqo'te features, others being kind enough to treat him as a guest in their homes. Eventually, once he came into adulthood, Kharin was bought out by the captain of the city guard, Feroze, so that he could join the ranks and live the life of a soldier, rather than a slave. Seventh Umbral Era Adulthood Kharin and Feroze fell for one another during their time in the city guard, and together they climbed the ranks to join the Seekers, elite guardsmen who serve in the Thavnairian court protecting the nobles and Seers. After a Djinn attacked the capital and caused unforeseen bloodshed in the streets, the Seekers fought it off, with Feroze giving his life in the process. The lone survivor of his brothers in arms, Kharin could not bear to stay in the city a day past Feroze's burial. He journeyed to Eorzea - his lover's blade carried alongside his own - in order to fulfill a promise he made to Feroze, that he would live on and see the world for the both of them. In Recent Times Moving Forward Since coming to Eorzea, Kharin has found himself plenty of work as a sellsword, mostly working from the desert oasis of Ul'dah. He is currently continuing on with his adventuring work so that he can raise funds to buy a house, rather than having to stay at The Quicksand each night in one of the various inn rooms.

Life before him is a foggy memory that I do not care to remind myself of, and life after him is... quiet. I look down at his blade now and I still see him holding it, sparring with me as we did so often. I loved him - I still do, but I know that won't bring him back to me. Kharin left the city, but as he did not officially step down, he could still be considered part of the city guard.
