Character

General

Lady Nadeau Adrienne Celeste- Savoire, leader of the Traveling Templar of Ul'dah. The young woman before you is so much more than she seems, and very often people do not take time to look beneath the surface. Nade is a talented mage, who will study any sort of magic she can get her hands on, and often enough will venture into dangerous places in search of ancient tomes to study.

The fastest way to win her over is to talk about magic, alchemy, or botany.

Appearance

Nadeau is of average height for a midlander nothing impressive or unimpressive about that. Her body is soft and curvy, with a bit more fat than you would expect on your average adventurer, her former life of pampering shows clearly on her frame. She is however perfectly healthy, and can easily keep pace with anyone in a venturing party. Alas, nothing she does seems to remove that last bit of chub. She is often described frame was as "having been well cared for".

Her face is youthful and round, people often mistaking her for much younger than she is. Her eyes are described as "dark", quite a rich color of brown with a hint of red to them lined with thick lashes. Her cheeks seem to be kissed with a permanent blush, and a small birth mark sits under her left eye. Her nose is of a pleasant shape, and her lips are full around round. She is rarely seen with out her glasses.

Nade's natural hair is a chocolate brown and of a wavy texture, however the young woman currently wears her hair straight with the ends dyed a shade of minty-teal left over from when she ran from home and changed her hair. On very humid days, the hair around her cheeks will curl a bit, giving a hint to the true nature of her locks.

Nadeau is well dressed and takes pride in her appearance. She will always match, and is often seen in her signature color of saghain. She would rather wear skirts than pants, and pairs them with a variety of tops. Nade is very modest in her attire, and does not care to show a lot of skin. When at the beach or hot springs, she will often chose to wear a chaimese with her swimsuit bottoms rather than a pair it with something more skimpy.

Behavior

Nadeu is calm and well mannered. She has been breed for a life of privilege and this often reflects in her outward manners. She is ever the lady on the surface, and some may even think she is stuck up. However, she is always kind, even when the attention is undesired, and remains graceful under pressure...However there are limits to her tolerance, and she has been known to snap and blow up in a fit of yelling from time to time...this is a rare extreme however.

Once Nadeau is comfortable with a person, she will relax and start to joke around with them, playfully teasing them. She comes off as sweet and caring to those closest to her...

However inwardly, Nadeau is very serious and goal driven. She is strong willed and wickedly intelligent. She is driven by the quest for knowledge. At this point (11/13) she has more or less sealed her heart after much coaching from Varus to better excel her in her studies and seal out distractions.

She can be cunning and devious, and develops a personality to suit the situation. Where as she never lies, she has learned how to state things a certain way to bend the will of those around to her needs.

There is little she won't due to obtain her magical goals.

Nade's personality and actions are often influenced by those around her.

Combat

Nadeau is a black mage and is highly ill-suited for close combat. When she does venture out with a party, she remains on the back lines firing away spells. Although she doesn't have a great affinity for healing magic, she has learned a bit through the arcanists and conjurers to better keep herself alive in dire situations.

When appropriate she will call on the abilities she has learned from her mentor and use a type of crystal magic. These crystals both store or drain aether and bend to the wielder's will. She has also learned a bit of blood magic, both healing and offence, however she is not as well skilled in this art just yet.

Family

Nadeau's family life is rich and complicated...

The Savoire- Nadeau's paternal family. The Savoire Family hails from Limsa, and boasts to be one of the city's founding families. Whether this statement is true or not is unknown, however their family records date back generations and are kept in a family vault under the manor. The family made it's fortune in chocobo breeding originally, but has recent turned to the shipping industry bot import and export along with the actual building of ships. Very recent family ventures have turned to airships, although they have yet to construct a commercial fleet.

The Savoire family is proud. Too proud at times and are quite racist. It is unclear as of why exactly that is, since the family seems to have descended from Elezen, only the past few generations have been of Hyur blood. Nadeau's father and grandfather have a distinct hatred for the Elezen race. They also despise working with Lalafel, seeing them as immature and bothersome.

Father- Jean Savoire Grandfather- Belle Savoire Grandmother- Patrique Savoire

The Celeste- Nadeau's maternal family.

The Celeste family is a line of talented healers from Gridania and are experts in Botany as well as Alchemy. They are proficient potion makers. Nadeau's grandfather runs a lumber company and her grandmother continues to heal, sometimes teaching simple classes on herbs at the Conjurer's Guild. Nadeau's mother Claire had her marriage arrange to Jean Savoire in hopes of saving the company with the Savoire influence and fortune. Although the Savoires provide enough to keep the company afloat it never became what it once was.

Nadeau is particularly close with her maternal grandfather and often talks about him with the highest respect.

Mother- Claire Celeste-Savoire Grandfather- George Celeste Grandmother- Laurel Celeste

Note Worthy Relationships

The Templar- Nadeau's free company which she built from the ground up. The Traveling Templar are Nade's biggest accomplishment in life, and she is endlessly proud of this fact. Some of the Templar she treats as close friends and family, some she keeps at a distance, but either way there is nothing she wouldn't do for one under her employment. It is extremely difficult for the reputation of one of her members to be tarnished in her eyes, and even those with a darker past are seen as innocent in her eyes.

Nifliem- The man she considers her first real friend and relationship. Nifliem was a stable boy who was hired to tend to the Chocobo at the Savoire Manor. He was a few years Nade's senior, and at first what started as a friendship bloomed into love. When Nade turned 16, the pair decided to run away to Ul'dah together. Taking on work as a Sailor, Nifliem left Limsa to make extra money for the young couple. As the ship set sail towards the open ocean, it was rocked with a massive explosion. From what can be seen, there were no survivors.

Endarius- Nadeau's final tutor. It was his job to prepare the young woman for marriage to a wealthy business man. He was to teach her the final ends of book keeping and mathematics. However he took pity on the young woman who seemed a hallow shell after the loss of her dear friend. He got Nade talking again, and realized her love for Alchemy and Magic. Endarius started sneaking books into the young woman, and soon her talented for mage-craft blossomed. Their studies turned from business to magic as Endarius encouraged her to follow her dreams. Nade found herself with a fondness for the young scholar, and after a couple of years in his company, they shared a kiss in the courtyard. Endarius vanished the next day.

Rin- A young friend from Nade's childhood whom she mentions from time to time. He was a year older than her, and the pair would sneak off together and play under tables at the social gatherings of Eorzea's finest. The pair had an innocent childhood love that never got to develop.

Raelin- Nade's savoir from a life of servitude and arranged marriage and business partner. Nadeau came across Raelin at one of Limsa's lesser known taverns near the docks. She had been searching for someone to smuggle her from the city and take her to Ul'dah. When she met Raelin, she knew he was far more than just a pirate. After a bit of talking, they hatched a plan get Nade safely from the city. During their adventure, their playful teasing turned to flirting, and after a pirate attack which Nade was knocked overboard, they shared a kiss. It wasn't long after they docked in Ul'dah that Raelin's ship was once again attacked by pirates. Although they escaped (with the rest of the crew) the ship was destroyed (and now called Thousand Splinters). Nade was shaken, and pushed Raelin away afraid that she was the reason for all of this. She told him she was cursed, that her last two loves had died, and now it was happening all over again. Since then, Nade has never lost her love for the shaggy-red head. It is a constant struggle for her to keep her distance from him, and has tried twice to win back his affection with no luck. Because of this, she used an opportunity to seal away her good memories of Raelin, leaving just the fact that he helped her leave Limsa, and helped her found the Templar.

Varus- Nadeau's mentor in alchemy and mage craft. In Nade's eyes, there is little Varus can't do. When he first took Nade under his wing, she happily accepted, but soon found the man was willing to do -anything- to obtain his goals, which included kidnapping orphans. She soon cut all ties with the man, and it wasn't until she was suffering from aether poisoning and on the verge of death that he reappeared and saved her life, binding her life to his in the process. Varus forced Nade to return to her studies with him. Since the shift in Nade's aether, she has been more accepting of Varus' ways and has become his prized student and heir to the Rosental line of magic. She holds Varus in the highest respects now, and often turns a blind eye to his darker practices. In all of Nade's relationships, Varus had been the only constant. He is supportive and there for her when she is in need, and it is clear he will go to great lengths to protect his pupil. In a way, Nade loved Varus. She often compares the men she meets to him, however none have quite lived up to his intelligence. She also felt he is the only man in Eorzea who really saw her. She will willingly talk for hours about philosophy and magic with him, and has complete trust in the man she was once terrified of. Varus encouraged Nade to seal away her heart to better focus on her studies. She only sort-of listened to him on this, sealing away her memories of Raelin, which had in turn allowed her to better focus on her work with her mentor. Varus has currently left Eorzea and heading into the void for research, freeing Nade of his influence.

Ghalleon- Started work with the Templar and kept a bit of distance at first. However it became apparent that there was a bit of interest between Nadeau and Ghalleon. Ghalleon rushed to aid Nadeau in a battle to protect a fellow Templar, and soon led the crusade to rescue Nade from the clutches of a crazed Nymian cult. Having had her magic bound, Nade was able to open up to Ghalleon and really see him for what he was, rather than be ruled by her voidsent influence or her magical bindings. Things slowly developed between the pair over the following weeks, and their relationship has flourished into a mutually respectful and loving partnership. Ghalleon is what Nade had been searching for, and the pair really complete each other, both in a professional and personal manner. Ghalleon is the positive influence Nadeau needed in her life, and he's teaching her to open up and trust again.

History/Timeline

Nadeau has always been a sheltered girl, as long as she can remember she has been watched and nearly kept a prisoner in her own home. She was raised to be married off to the highest bidder, to be a trophy wife to assist in house hold duties and business running. She had the best tutors, and is very well educated in business and most things political.

As a child, Nadeau wasn't permitted out of the home, and found entertainment in the stables of her home's courtyard. There she met a young stable boy named Nifliem, a pale haired Elezen who was a few years her elder. They became close, and Nifliem would tell Nadeau about life outside the manor's walls. He spoke of the sea and fishermen, mages and taverns...As Nade grew older, her curiosity about the outside world also grew until she begged Nfiliem to take her outside the walls of her home. Soon the pair was sneaking out daily. Friendship turned to love, and on Nadeau's 16th birthday, Nifliem pledged that he would help her escape from her home and they would find a life together across the sea. Nifliem took a job on a shipping vessel to save the gil it would cost to start over on the main land.

Little did the pair know, Nifliem had taken a crew position on one of Jean's ships. The crew was loyal to their master with the help of a well greased palm, soon Nifliem's plan was exposed to Jean for a few gil in return. It was but a few weeks after Nifliem joined the crew that his ship exploded in the bay. No one survived. Nadeau has no proof her father caused the explosion. After Nifliem's death Nadeau went into a state of shock, and sort of just floated through life for the next two years. It wasn't until she met her tutor Endarius that she started to come around. She was able to open up to someone at last, and the caring hyur managed to get Nadeau to express herself, her desire to leave, and her despair at loosing Nifliem, the one friend she had ever had. Endarius made her see that Nifliem wanted a better life for her, and in turn Nade's eyes started to open. With Endarius' help, Nadeau started to practice the lost arts of her mother's family, but try as she might, she was never talented as a healer...but her talent for the elemental magics was incredible. Nadeau's attention turned to black magic, where her talent grew quickly. For two years the pair was able to carry on, hiding the magic studies behind books and business lessons. Nadeau was able to learn simple spells that would put her guards to sleep for a short time and allow her to slip into the real world. She was grateful to him, and soon found herself falling for the hyur.

It wasn't long after they shared a kiss in the courtyard that Endarius vanished. After the disappearance of her tutor, Nadeau vowed to find a way to leave. She was brought on a few outings to her father's piers, she started listening carefully and learned people could easily be persuaded by a few gil. Nadeau was introduced to more people with in her father's company, accountants, business partners, captains, all possible suitors for the young woman, but each and every one could easily be paid off, and it became clear to Nadeau that the accountant was ripe to be bribed.

Nearing the end of her 20th year, Nadeau's wedding had been arranged to a much older man from quite far away, a rumored Garlean at that. A business partner dealing in rare imports, and a rather mean hyur at that. Nadeau knew she only had a year or so to escape, and so she started making her plans and sneaking away at night, casting sleeps spells on her guards to buy her time at the Taverns in hopes of finding someone who could transport her across the sea and help her start a new life. It took her nearly four months, but she met a young hyur near her age named Raelin. Upon meeting him, she knew he'd change her life, that there was more to him than just a pirate. Having been exposed to her father's way of life, Nadeau knew there was more to Eorzea than corruption. She wanted to make a positive change, to help people any way she could. If her father's organization was based on corruption, her's would be based on honesty and compassion, and with Raelin's help she'd see it come to light.

In the last two years away from home Nadeau has successfully started the Traveling Templar, an adventuring guild for hire, seeking to make Eorzea a better place.

She has studied magic, alchemy, and botany, and is more than proficient in all three. She has experienced ups, and downs, but has managed to pull through and thrive under the mentor-ship of Varus Rosenthal who saved her from her latent talents. From him she is learning endless tricks of the trade focused around crystal magic. Having survived Varus' teachings and becoming the heir to his magical line, Nade became free from his influences and was able to move on and open her heart again with the assistance of some magic-binding shackles. Having found love, Nadeau keeps moving forward, learning new magic and skills as they come her way.
