== Background ==

Brandon was very young when Ala Mhigo fell to the Garleans. Born and raised as a baby in the capital, the Blackstone family stood on the more wealthy side of the populace. Following the Garlean occupation and the refugees that ran, house Blackstone had it easy compared to most, and were able to afford property within the city of Ul'dah. Though securing proper housing came at great cost to the Blackstone's personal wealth, Brandon had a relatively comfortable upbringing. Being an only child and both parents working full time, Ul'dah life taught him well on understanding the importance of self reliance, responsibility, and hard work. He grew up to be a strong, social, and thoughtful person. The Calamity which shook the entirety of Eorzea brought significant change to Brandon's life as well. His parents were killed when their house was leveled to the ground. Their son was spared while out on one of his adventures, something that had happened often as he got older.

Brandon did not cope well with the tragedy. Losing the only family he had at such a young age, anger consumed him. With the open knowledge of the Empire's direct responsibility regarding the Calamity, he sought placement within Little Ala Mhigo's resistance as an outlet, hoping the blood of Garlean's would sate his pulsing rage. In addition, he sought to replace the loss he felt, hoping to reconnect with the culture that he had lived so detached from. Unfortunately, the he path he had chosen had come to yield nothing but disappointment, as the movement proved powerless and futile, the political entanglement between the resistance and Ul'dah making things worse. Impatience toward the inaction only fueled Brandon's frustration and hate. His disciplinary problems and reputation in the community grew steadily worse, often being insubordinate, causing fights with the fellow youth's and arguing with superior officers. The welcoming of his presence in Little Ala Mhigo began to diminish. Having lead a more privileged life outside the desert settlement and therefor absent during the hardships of its people that built it, Brandon was met with little sympathy from most. He grew less stable as time went on until one day anger and insanity consumed him during a simple sparring match, where he had nearly killed a fellow compatriot. Subdued while his fate was decided, certain elders took a closer look at his affliction and sent him on his way with a heading toward Limsa Lominsa, and instructed him to search among the Roegadyn people for information on this uncontrollable condition. It was a lengthy search, one filled with many stories of their own, but eventually a promising lead lead to finding someone with knowledge enough to help. Brandon seemed to vanish entirely after that.

Years later, Brandon emerged back into civilization, and took residence in the free lands of Limsa Lominsa. Having trained and mastered what he had learned of the "Inner Beast," he became himself again and continued on with travel, work, and various adventures. He had accepted his parents passing and moved on, earning a crystal and a newfound power to honor his past hardships. When news of the Ala Mhigan resistance had finally been backed by the aid of Eorzean's Grand Companies and Ishgard, Brandon joined in the revolution. He signed his ax up for the war, and added to the sea of men and women that fought, bled, and watched their fellow soldiers die alongside them in the name of Ala Mhigo. Brandon currently resides in the Ala Mhigan Quarter of the freed city, spending most of his time helping rebuild. Occasionally he often travels to and from various lands of Eorzea with the relief effort to bring in resources, trades, and donation supplies. Brandon hopes to one day soon take a vacation to the recently liberated eastern lands.

== Appearance and Personality ==

Brandon stands at a height of 6'2 with an athletic build, broad soldiers, and well defined muscles. He has jet black hair and fair skin, with no discernible facial features such as freckles or moles, and keeps himself clean shaven. There is, however, a thinly laid scar along his left cheek in a downward angle. The bridge of his nose is slightly crooked do to past breakage, typically noticeable only from a side profile. He has dark green eyes shrouded by dark circles, bushy, black eyebrows, and thick eyelashes. He is often seen smiling or grinning as opposed to a resting frown. There is a large, black, sidelong silhouette of a griffin's head tattooed on his left shoulder. His voice is low sounding and smooth, lacking the typical accent accompanied with your average Ala Mhigan.

Brandon is a friendly, outgoing person and doesn't appear very intimidating given his upbeat demeanor. He prefers to greet people with a smile and a kind word, and is usually the one to take initiative when it comes to conversation. He does not shy from regular interaction, such as small talk. He is usually seen happy, cheerful, and kind. More emotional than practical, Brandon tends to act more on his feelings and what he thinks is right, and is prone to take action before mulling things over through logic and critical thinking. Though he is an advocate for the underdog, his feelings on injustice and right over wrong varies. Somewhat spoiled in his upbringing, he lacks a full grasp on the struggles over the lower class. While deeply empathetic and considerate, proper insight and reasoning skills are something he needs to work on. His naivety and innocence render him susceptible to manipulation. Brandon is a fierce ally, and an even fiercer friend. He is willing to sacrifice his own sense of ethics as well as personal safety for the sake of those close to him.
