Hamon is the twin brother of [[Lumenos Avalon]], a locally renowned mage and voidsent hunter who also resides within the region of Thanalan. Unlike his kin, however, Hamon is a practitioner of swordplay, smithing and marksmanship rather than the schools of magic. Despite this, Hamon is capable of manipulating aether, preferring to use various techniques to enhance his physical abilities rather than conjuring magic. Furthermore, Hamon is known to be more outgoing between the two of them.

Martial prowess aside, Hamon is a talented smith, winning three annual contests consecutively hosted by the leaders of the Blacksmiths' and Armorers' Guild for his craftsmanship in his entries consisting of a short sword, a kite shield and an axe. The gil amassed from commissions has allowed him to purchase property in the upper class district of the Goblet wards where he now resides.

The olive-skinned miqo'te stands at 5'10" (177.8 cm) and appears to be somewhat further into his years than some of the other male miqo'te that roam the land of Eorzea. Records dictate that he is 28 years old. His facial features are sharp yet rugged, and there are a few faint signs of age and stress underlying his golden eyes. Hamon sports a beard along the entire length of his jawline that blend into his head of black hair. Due to prior rigorous training and conditioning, Hamon has developed a considerably lean yet muscular form. Despite this, however, he hardly, if ever, wears clothing that would blatantly exhibit his well-defined body, preferring to wear more functional and/or comfortable clothing and armor such as gambisons, longcoats and platemail.

Known for his outgoing nature, Hamon is an affable person. He is often selfless and is willing to put himself at risk to defend complete strangers. Though he was once naive, those who took advantage of his kindness soon tempered him to show hostility and ill will towards such people, and as a result, he has developed a sense of cynicism towards those who seem disingenuous when calling upon him for aid. He is known to be humble, especially when it comes to his smithing trade, and loathes boasting. Furthermore, he has shown to be quite eager when approached to teach any prospective students of swordplay.

===Tribal Life===
Hamon was born into the Viper tribe as L'hamon and was raised to hunt with his kin. Like his brother Lumenos, he left the tribe after their father was killed in a contest for the title of Nunh, but rather than seek revenge, he kept an eye on his brother to ensure they did not come to harm, let alone do anything reckless in the wake of their father's passing. Unlike Lumenos, he did not denounce his tribal heritage when he moved to the city, referring to himself as L'hamon Tia to those he met.

===Before the Calamity===
When L'hamon arrived at Ul'dah, he quickly found out that he would not get very far due to his lack of gil. Without a single coin to his name, he lived outside the walls of Ul'dah, surviving off of the land until he managed to obtain a job as a worker for the Miners' Guild. It took several months before the miqo'te was able to scrounge up enough money to purchase lessons at the Gladiators' Guild, where he took the first steps to become an adventurer. He quickly learned that there was more to the title, however, as he narrowly avoided a fatal stomach wound when confronting a group of thugs that had been roughing up a couple of female Seekers in an alley.

Annoyed by the frequent inaction of the Brass Blades when a crime took place, he decided to try and join the law enforcement in an effort to either reform it from within or inspire the incumbent members to be more active in their duty to keep the streets safe. After several more months, L'hamon attempted to join the Brass Blades but was denied admission from one of the Blades' officers -- a Highlander named Torbin. Peeved by this decision, L'hamon demanded to know why Torbin refused to admit him into the Blades despite meeting all the necessary requirements and paperwork, to wish Torbin simply stated that he despised miqo'te, seeing them as frail and scheming thieves. Angered by this, L'hamon challenged Torbin to an exhibition match at the Coliseum, where he would either be permitted to join the Brass Blades if he won or be exiled from Thanalan for life if he lost, assuming he survived the match.

Unfortunately for L'hamon, tensions between Eorzea and the Garlean Empire came to a head, and the exhibition match was postponed until the Empire was subdued from their attempts to invade and conquer their target. In a desperate bid to try and help the frontline soldiers of the Eorzean Alliance, L'hamon traveled to Limsa Lominsa in order to aid the members of the Blacksmiths' and Armorers' Guild in quickly manufacturing weapons and armor. Though he was not directly responsible for forging armaments due to his lack of experience, he helped with smelting and shipping them, learning a few techniques as he went along.

===Picking Up the Pieces===
Much to his and everyone else's dismay, word spread that Bahamut had razed the region of Mor Dhona. Not one to idly stand by, Hamon travelled to the barren region after finding a flyer from the Adventuers' Guild calling for aid in the rebuilding of Revenant's Toll. Accompanied by his friend and mentor Jagged Razor, they quickly became part of the construction effort. There, L'hamon and Razor became apprentices under the tutelage of a smith in the employ of the notorious Rowena.

Given Mor Dhona's harsh environment being a haven for hardy and dangerous creatures, as well as the looming threat of the Garlean Empire's inevitable return in an attempt to conquer Eorzea, L'hamon spent his free hours honing his swordplay, training with the local adventurers who took refuge within the settlement's borders, using what he learned in his sparring sessions to further improve and influence his own weapon and armor designs, which he then used to win three annual smithing competitions held in Limsa Lominsa. After four years, the miqo'te returned to Ul'dah to return to challenge Torbin for admittance into the Brass Blades only to learn that the Highlander was killed in his sleep for reasons yet unknown. With little opposition, L'hamon was accepted into the Brass Blades.

After his introductory training, L'hamon sought to try and bring justice and order for the underprivileged citizens of Ul'dah, but like before, he quickly found that his fellow Blades either refused to help or ridiculed him for trying so hard to clean up the city. After six months of red tape and frustration, L'hamon left the Brass Blades after an incident involving an Ala Mhigan refugee being falsely accused of stealing food from a merchant whom they had never met. After checking in on his brother, who no longer seemed interested in taking revenge on the Nunh who took their father's life, he visited his mother who lived just outside the city, and spent a week with her to collect his thoughts and seek guidance before deciding to return to Revenant's Toll, where he sold his own brand of weapons and armor to passing travellers and adventurers which became quite popular, earning him the nickname of "The Silver Fang" for how lustrous the metal of his blades were. Much to his surprise, the popularity of his designs eventually drew the attention of Rowena, who offered to buy them for a hefty sum of gil -- more than enough wealth to keep him afloat for some time to come.

===In Aid of Coerthas===
Without need of his services in Revenant's Toll, L'hamon's attention was directed towards the plight of the Ishgardians. Despite the city of Ishgard itself being secluded from the rest of Eorzea, other Ishgardians included, L'hamon tried to lend his aid to the strongholds that kept it safe from the Dravanian Horde. Much like his time in Mor Dhona, he continued to hone his craft by learning new techniques from the local smiths and enhance his combat prowess by training with the knights of the house nobles. As a result, he found himself well-prepared whenever the Dravanians made an attempt to assault the strongholds. Before long, the Horde's assault grew more aggressive until they nearly overwhelmed the Temple Knights defending Ishgard. Though L'hamon wasn't present at the Steps of Faith, he provided support by distributing arms and medical supplies at Camp Dragonhead to both adventurers and knights alike.

After the gates of Ishgard were opened to outsiders, L'hamon was among some of the first to set foot within its walls thanks to his reputation among a few of the houses. He quickly sought to lend aid to the lowborn folk within the Brume, providing gil and medicine to the poor and the sick. Unfortunately, the caste system severely hampered any significant attempts to aid the commoners. Despite this, however, he continued to aid the people of Ishgard in any way that he was able to.

After the end of the Dragonsong War, L'hamon's attention was soon drawn to the Skysteel Manufactory after witnessing the weaponry used by the Hounds. There he met Stephanivien, who seemed quite enthusiastic about his interest in the discipline of machinistry. Curious to learn about the firearms and the aetherotransformer powering the mechanisms and techniques employed by machinists, Hamon spent several weeks learning to forge both, making a few minor improvements on preliminary designs provided by the Manufactory. He was also given basic training in marksmanship. In commemoration of his efforts to learn and improve upon the art of machinistry, L'hamon was named an honorary member of the Manufactory.

Over time, Lumenos became increasingly adept with thaumaturgy, allowing him to divert some of his attention to studying arcanima. He also began looking into the history of the Allagan Empire with a particular interest in the technology and relics that were left behind. Eventually, Lumenos began to dabble in void magic, repurposing an old storage facility in Azys Lla into a laboratory where he bred and harvested bombs for their cores with the intention of using them to augment and empower his magic. Constant use of this method began to corrupt the miqo'te's aether. In order to cleanse himself, he sought out a number of healers who possibly knew a way to expunge voidsent essence from an afflicted individual. His search led him to an Au Ra who performed an exorcising ritual, though the ritual itself came at the cost of shortening the miqo'te's lifespan albeit by a small margin. Due to his growing carelessness in his attempts to gain more knowledge and power, however, Lumenos was nearly imprisoned from his openness in studying forbidden magic during his periods of employment. Because of this, he became become much more tight-lipped and secretive about his research.
