Cliodhna is a twenty-eight year old Ala Mhigan, a citizen of the Empire since the invasion of her homeland over twenty years ago. A highly trained mercenary assassin, she is intelligent and a childhood prodigy in martial disciplines. Cliodhna was trained by the Empire to be an advanced sleeper agent, an expert in hand to hand combat, shinobi arts, alchemy, and medical techniques. Having cut ties with the Empire over the destruction of Doma, she has come to Ul'dah to seek cover, continuing her shadow activities while posing as a Doctor for refugees living in the lower income area of Ul'dah.

Born to a wealthy merchant family who sided with the Empire in the invasion, Cliodhna grew up wanting for nothing. Highly intelligent and a child prodigy in martial disciplines, Cliodhna was chosen by the Imperial Military to be trained as a high level agent. She operated for two years in Ul'dah as a sleeper agent and sleeper commander until her cover was blown by an Thanalanian agent named Erik Mynhier. From there she returned to the Empire to further her training. Moving on to Doma she was trained in the arts of the Shadow by Kure Saizo, who despite herself, she became close to. Though a loyal agent, Cliodhna left the Empire in defiance during the rebellion in Doma. Master Saizo was accused and found guilty of treason. His death marked Cliodhna's break from the Empire.
