Though originally born in Gridania, at the age of fifteen his parents attempted to flee to Ul'dah before Dalamud fell in hopes of finding somewhere safer to hide. However they failed and after the Calamity struck, Lanza was left in the now transformed Thanlan desert, alone and delirious. Finding his way to Ul'dah, without a means to survive, he took to pickpocketing and burglary to get his meals till the day he made an attempt at a woman named Mylla, who after a short brawl; offered the bloodied Lanza training along with her other students in order to steer him right. As the years went on, impressed with his abilities with a sword, Mylla recommended him to be a Sultansworn candidate. Ecstatic, he jumped right on the opportunity, however as a simple trainee, his ego got the better of him, and he was soon disgraced from the ranks, inciting him to run back home to Gridania, and train under the Wood Wailers simply to get away from the city. However, Ul'dah has a strange draw to it, as time carried on, he found himself going back, hoping to find work as a Brass Blade.
Initially patrolling the streets of Ul'dah, he was soon transfered to Highbridge as his primary post, however as time went on, in the quest for greater pay and better work, Lanza took to the life of a free-lance mercenary in hopes for a better life.

===Appearance===
The hazel-eyed hyur stands at an average height, often overshadowed by some of the taller men of his kind, but far from the shortest. Unless a situation calling for otherwise arises, his eyes typically bear a bored, nonchalant look to them, lazily glancing over at small things that catch his interest, if even for a moment.
Across his nose however, is a wide scar hanging under his eyes, when asked about it, he'll almost proudly exclaim "Oy oy, I got this when I was just lad, and Mylla went and bloodied me up some for bein' a sod, eh?". Despite all this, since his days as a Sultansworn, many have called Lanza a "pretty-boy" in reference to his delicate face and striking blonde hair. However, his response is a tad mixed, flattered, but at the same time feeling as if it destroys his 'image' of being a mercenary.

Abbrasive, and a bit dense. Never really having gone through any sort of 'schooling'; Lanza's dialect and mannerisms can come across as rude and uncultured. With a thick, backwater accent, accompanied by a total disregard for basic etiquette involving spitting, putting his feet up over the table, talking smack, and sometimes outright cruel bluntness; it can be difficult to be friends with Lanza.
Prone to anger, and easily provoked, he has however taken steps to try and curb himself back, but so far to little avail.
He is also vulnerable to distinct nervous habits; heels kicking up off the ground, scratching at the side of his neck. Lanza is typically on edge and anxious.

Lanza Razaul was at one time, a young member of the Sultansworn. However due to his immature attitude involving his rank, he grew to abuse his power for personal gain and was soon disgraced, now working as merely a member of the Brass Blades and patrolling the streets of Ul'dah. Though originally born in Gridania, at the age of seven his parents attempted to flee to Ul'dah before Dalamud fell in hopes of finding somewhere safer to hide. However they failed and after the Calamity struck, Lanza was left in the now transformed Thanlan desert, alone and delirious. Finding his way to Ul'dah, without a means to survive, he took to pickpocketing and burglary to find his meals till the day he made an attempt at a woman named Mylla, who after a short brawl; offered the bloodied Lanza training in order to steer him right.

Nowadays, he admittedly looks at his duties as a Brass Blade as more of a bother than anything, seeking to leave the city walls and adventure with the people he's met in the Quicksand.

Lanza can be seen at times patrolling up and down the steps of Nald'thal, giving only passing interest to those around him. Occasionally he might strike up conversation with a pretty girl, but more often than not he's anxious to get his shift over with. However, despite his abhorrence for his job, he always tries his best to do what is required of him out of a sense of duty and responsibility. Off-duty however, Lanza is a much more free spirit, typically helping his friends, or total strangers he meets out in the field more for excitement than out of hopes for his own personal gain. (Not that he'll say no if payment is offered.)
Admittedly, he also has a soft spot for any kind of violence, longing for a match that will put him down, only so he can stand back up and more than likely be knocked down again. He is a man who likes to be almost destroyed in combat, simply so he can say "Oy, well that was a load of fun, eh?"

Lanza Razaul was at one time, a young member of the Sultansworn. However due to his immature attitude involving his rank, he grew to abuse his power for personal gain and was soon disgraced, now working as merely a member of the Brass Blades and patrolling the streets of Ul'dah. Though originally born in Gridania, at the age of seven his parents attempted to flee to Ul'dah before Dalamud fell in hopes of finding somewhere safer to hide. However they failed and after the Calamity struck, Lanza was left in the now transformed Thanlan desert, alone and delirious. Finding his way to Ul'dah, without a means to survive, he took to pickpocketing and burglary to find his meals till the day he made an attempt at a woman named Mylla, who after a short brawl; offered the bloodied Lanza training in order to steer him right.

Nowadays, he admittedly looks at his duties as a Brass Blade as more of a bother than anything, seeking to leave the city walls and adventure with the people he's met in the Quicksand.

===Appearance===
The hazel-eyed hyur stands at an average height, often overshadowed by some of the taller men of his kind, but far from the shortest. Unless a situation calling for otherwise arises, his eyes typically bear a bored, nonchalant look to them, lazily glancing over at small things that catch his interest, if even for a moment.
Across his nose however, is a wide scar hanging under his eyes, when asked about it, he'll almost proudly exclaim "Oy oy, I got this when I was just lad, and Mylla went and bloodied me up some for being a sod, eh?". Despite all this, since his days as a Sultansworn, many have called Lanza a "pretty-boy" in reference to his delicate face and blonde hair; to which he would hardly call them wrong for.

===Behavior===
Lanza can be seen at times patrolling up and down the steps of Nald'thal, giving only passing interest to those around him. Occasionally he might strike up conversation with a pretty girl, but more often than not he's anxious to get his shift over with. However, despite his abhorrence for his job, he always tries his best to do what is required of him out of a sense of duty and responsibility. Off-duty however, Lanza is a much more free spirit, typically helping his friends, or total strangers he meets out in the field more for excitement than out of hopes for his own personal gain. (Not that he'll say no if payment is offered.)
Admittedly, he also has a soft spot for any kind of violence, longing for a match that will put him down, only so he can stand back up and more than likely be knocked down again. He is a man who likes to be almost destroyed in combat, simply so he can say "Oy, well that was a load of fun, eh?"
