|sectioncontent = Lavi was raised in the backwoods of Gridania by incredibly dedicated Nophicans. Her parents wanted her to take over the family farm, but Lavi wanted nothing to do with that, greatly resenting the extremely humble life her parents lead. She eventually convinced them to let her sign up with the Wood Wailers, and from there she worked with the intention of getting out of Gridania and somehow finding and easy life.

Eventually she gained enough regard to be sent on missions to other countries. In Limsa she found a much better homeland. The sea so beautiful and it's architecture so unlike Gridania's, she began to spend more and more of her time there, and soon found a style of combat that fitted her much better as well. Summoning a Carbuncle as an Arcanist not only gave her an adorable companion, but meant far less actual physical exertion.

As Lavi continued to adventure she began to acquire more power and more wealth. Often she would allow her Egi's to fight battles for her and then upon finishing whatever the days task, she would visit the Culinarian's Guild and feast upon rich delicacies. When she gained access to the Gold Saucer things got a bit out of hand and she did little but sit around playing games all day and eat. Her weight ballooned and had Ishgard not recently opened its borders she would probably have retired from the adventuring life. Adventuring in new lands helped her shed some of the weight though it was hard going for a while. Recently though she finds herself once again spending more and more time at the Saucer and in restaurants with only her desire for pretty baubles getting her out and about.

When one can peel her away from her obsession with books and reading, they'll be apt to find that Lily is actually a very naggy worrywart of a personality, who loves bad jokes (and sometimes is prone to join in on the eye-rolling fun) and sticking her nose where it doesn't belong. Once she gets to talking, she's very cheerful and polite, and warm to those she considers among her closest kin. With strangers, she will speak politely and friendly though not as candid (unless, somehow, someone lands a few drinks in her). While in the presence of people she finds distateful, there is much grinding of the teeth and setting of the jaw, coupled with the occasional glare that lasts overly long. She tends to not speak much in front of those she has kept at arm's distance or greater for a reason, and will let others speak in an effort to not say something she may later regret.

As a healer, Lily has an innate sense of duty and finds herself disregarding the elementals' will on the battlefield--using aether-based equations and geometrics to heal both ally and enemy alike after a battle. As an officer of the Maelstrom, this has caused her to butt heads with a few of her peers and superiors and has caused some short-fused strife between her and others, to the point that she was considering an 'early retirement' or transfer to another Grand Company for quite some time. The Fireborn Adventurer's Guild/Free Company was founded by then-lover [[Garen Ashe]] and herself a few months after the raid of the Garlean-occupied space Castrum Meridianum at the end of the Seventh Umbral Era, spurred on mostly by Lily's surprise pregnancy and a need for a permanent place of residence due to such. After finally claiming a home and a place of work for their budding free company in the Goblet, they were soon joined by many new members, some of them being old friends of Garen's -- [[Z'attana Mitnu|Atty]], [[Giles Wolfbane|Giles]], and [[Laerad Oaks|Laerad]] to name a few; and eventually would be joined by others of note, namely the "little brother" of the group, [[Altonio Salaphonte|Altonio]], and Lily's former midwife and doctor inspiration, [[Enla Kertuh|Enla]]--the latter of which came around due to the birth of Lily's daughter, [[Roysia Ashe|Roysia]].

Nowadays, the free company's hustle and bustle has died down, with a few members taking their leave and more joining on.
