Her parents noticed her nascent ability to Hear the spirits of the forest when she was quite small. But because they feared she might be taken from them for training, they pretended that her abilities didn't exist, and convinced the young child that she was lying or confused when she tried to explain what she was hearing. Liadan, out of both a desire to please her parents and due to sheer ignorance, over time began to ignore the whispers at the corner of her mind, becoming very good at pretending they didn't exist. Until she believed she heard nothing at all.</div></div>

<div align=justify><div style="padding: 7px 4px;font-size:13px; color:#585350;font-family:Helvetica;">All that changed the year Liadan turned seventeen, the year before the Calamity. One completely ordinary summer day, her small, isolated village near the border with Ala Mhigo was attacked by a squad of Imperial soldiers, who proceeded to sack and burn the village, killing most of the inhabitants without mercy. Liadan witnessed her mother cut down before her, but as the soldiers came for her, something happened that no one expected. No one at all.</div></div>

<div align=justify><div style="padding: 7px 4px;font-size:13px; color:#585350;font-family:Helvetica;">For the Elementals already knew Liadan was one of their chosen, and the combination of her grief, terror, and rage roused their attention and gave focus to their responding rage, inciting a terrifying Greenwrath in response to the encroachment of their land, and the threat to one of their chosen. When the Greenwrath was spent, not a soul remained to speak of what had happened in that tiny village...not a soul except Liadan, who, overcome with the screaming rage of the Elementals, had fled deeper into the Shroud. By the time she was a found by a group of Wailers and Conjurers dispatched to investigate the Greenwrath, she was nearly catatonic. She would not speak for a full two moons after the incident.</div></div>

<div align=justify><div style="padding: 7px 4px;font-size:13px; color:#585350;font-family:Helvetica;">What passing Conjurers had failed to see for almost two decades was quickly sorted out once she arrived at the Fane, and Liadan soon found herself being trained in Conjury, something she discovered she had a natural affinity for. When the Greenwrath was spent, not a soul remained to speak of what had happened in that tiny village...not a soul except Liadan, who, overcome with the screaming rage of the Elementals, had fled deeper into the Shroud. By the time she was a found by a group of Wailers and Conjurers dispatched to investigate the Greenwrath, she was nearly catatonic. She would not speak for a full two moons after the incident.</div></div>
