===General===

Natalie Mcbeef is a friendly, yet battle hardened Miqo'te who resides in the City of Ul'dah. She grew up as an orphan on the streets of Ul'dah and does not know her birthday, tribe, parents or original name. Her rather unique name came from time spent in an orphanage, where herself and other children were simply assigned them randomly from a book. Because of this upbringing she is culturally distant from the people of her race, and has a dim outlook on most traditional Miqo'te customs. Despite her difficult childhood she has grown to be a proud daughter of Ul'dah, and loves the city dearly despite its faults. In her late teens she trained tirelessly to join the ranks of the Sultansworn, and although she often acts independently these days, she still takes her duties very seriously.

Recent evidence suggest that Natalie might have been lying about her past, as a female seeker has been seen prowling around the city, attempting to return Natalie to her tribe.

===Appearance===

Natalie is quite tall for a female Miqo'te, taller than many males, and standing eye to eye with some Hyur as well. She is very athletic, with good reflexes and endurance, but still her face is covered with scars from her many wounds. She takes little care in maintaining her appearance, and never wears cosmetics or attempts to trim her bushy eyebrows. Her hair is cropped close and short, in order to prevent an enemy from grabbing onto it. Her most striking feature are her piercing green eyes, which she often uses to stare down the enemies of Ul'dah. She eschews clothes and fashion, and can normally only be seen in her full combat armor, or a lighter set designed for patrolling the city.

===Behavior===

Natalie views herself first and foremost a protector of Ul'dah and it's citizens, and most of her behavior is based around that fact. When she is off duty she is friendly, playful, and warm, however under her warmth lies a core of steel, always ready to defend her city. She frequently questions those who she suspects to be involved in various misdeeds, mixing harsh questions with a friendly demeanor that often puts people off guard. She is often seen hanging around the Quicksand in her off duty hours, where she is quick to strike up a conversation with any that approach her.

Natalie can almost always be seen wielding a sword and shield, and she is out of her element when using other weapons. Her standard fighting style seems to be cautiously offensive, attempting to pressure her opponents and cause them to make mistakes. While she likes fighting, especially in the Arena, she does not like hurting or killing people, and makes every effort to resolve situations without using violence.

Natalie was born 20 years before the battle of carteneau as N'natli M'kbeff, in a small miqo'te tribe to the east of Ul'dah. At the age of 16 she left her tribe, and traveled to Ul'dah, where she lived on the streets for a time. Eventually she before involved in the coliseum, changing her name to something flashier, "Natalie Mcbeef". She fought in the Coliseum for several year, eventually being picked up for her skill by the sultansworn, as they gathered strength to repel Bahamuts fall. Natalie played a minor role in the battle, and spent the next five years guarding Ul'dah and honing her skills. Five years later, she once again went into battle against the Garleans, this time on the front lines, taking part in most of the major conflicts of the war. After the war concluded, she returned to Ul'dah, where she primarily maintains security in the city, although she still ventures out to put down the occasional primal.

==Recent History==

- Natalie returned to the city, and began investigating one C'kayah Tia, at the behest of the syndicate. Through him, she also cast her eyes on his friends and associates, such as Roen, Siha, Emelie, and Erik.

- After she and C'Kayah dealt with a complicated murder case together, Natalie's judgement with C'kahyah began to become impaired. Around this time Natalie met a woman named Marrow, who claimed to be the result of a Garlean experiment to create an artifical primal.

- Natalie's investigation of Erik's group began to intensify, as rumour's abounded that he was involved with necromancy and worse. Nat's suspicion inadvertently caused Roen to lose her job as a mercenary, forcing her into less than desirable work. Near this time, Marrow had a emotional breakdown, almost transforming physically into a full primal. Natalie was able to calm Marrow, averting the danger, and increasing the bond between them.

- After defending C'kayah from a vigilante lancer, and discovering they had reasonable evidence for attacking him, Natalie began to lose her suspicion of C'kayah's criminal activities. Erik disappeared as well, leaving Natalie suspicious of the causes. Against her better judgement she reinstated Roen as a sultansworn apprentice, hoping to help steer the woman in the right direction, although their initial relationship was strained.

- While investigating a series of strange murders in the city, Natalie came upon a Voidsent named Ieza, and a strange group called the Night Blades, that were hunting it. While initially suspicious of them, she became impressed with their resources, and agreed to aid them in stopping the beast.

- Natalie received strong evidence that Kayah was involved in a extremely serious slave trading case. Natalie arrested and began the process of torturing the information out of him, right before the evidence was found to be forged. This incident left Natalie's faith in her chosen profession very shaken.

- Natalie introduced Roen to the nightblades, and began meeting more members, while she prepared to deal with the voidsent threat. Through this process, her and Roen's relationship began to relax, as they started to understand one another.

- After a complicated incident, the crystal which helped stabilize marrow's form broke, forcing her to flee through the Coerthas highlands. Eventually Natalie managed to insert the crystal under Marrow's skin, hopefully preventing a similar incident in the future. Afterwards Marrow presented her with one of her scales, which Natalie began to wear over her heart.

- While drinking in the quicksand, C'kayah admitted his criminal activities. Natalie became angry and confused, and a passing Flame overheard their conversation. A series of misunderstandings left C'kayah dead and Natalie arrested. While Natalie managed to free herself and resurrect C'kayah with a phoenix down, she ended the situation significantly more cynical about the concept of justice in general

- Natalie helped build a case against C'kayah for tax evasion, believing she needed to instead focus her efforts on Renault, a newcomer to Ul'dah's underground power scene, and seemingly much more violent than C'kayah. However soon after she discovered the extent of C'kayah's criminal activities, although torn she went along with the syndicates decision to use his group as a stabilizing force in Ul'dah. N'kryah M'kbeff, a miqote from the wilderness was found in Ul'dah, seeking a N'tali. It was quickly found that Natalie's commonly known past was a lie, and she was actually of tribal origins.

-The "Quicksand Appreciation Society" was formed to gather the lovers of Ul'dahs finest establishment. Soon after, Natalie asked the artificial primal '''[[Marrow Ochi]]:''' to temper her, a process both thought would merely protect her from the power of other Primals. Instead Natalie quickly succumbed to the mental effects, becoming a shell of her former self, and it was only due to the resourcefulness, compassion, and quick thinking of her friends that allowed her to break the tempering and regain her former self.

Torken Queb's tale starts in the Gyr Abanian mountains, north of Ala Mhigo in a rusticly picturesque valley known as the Silvermist Glen. After the Cataclysm and the battle of Carteneau most of the country side was devastated and for the next few years survival was his main activity. Recently the Silvermist Glen has been occupied by the Galean Empire for an advanced outpost. Torken's people were either slaughtered or enslaved in one night of fire and blood.

Although Torken managed to escape and flee into the highlands making it into the Black Shroud and eventually to Gridania. Building on his skills with his name sake the Queb, a highland boar spear, he joined the Adventurer's and the Lancer's guilds. Until recently he fought for Gridania in order to hone his skills and pay back those who had taken him in. Claiming he needed to earn money so he could reach the sea, Torken suddenly announced one day he was setting out for Thanalan and the notorious city of Ul'dah. Going to sea was something he has often stated was something he would like to do. Upon reaching Ul'dah he hired himself out as a enforcer and mercenary.

Torken Queb's tale starts in the Gyr Abanian mountains, north of Ala Mhigo in a rusticly picturesque valley known as the Silvermist Glen. After the Cataclysm and the battle of Carteneau most of the country side was devastated and for the next few years survival was his main activity. Recently the Silvermist Glen has been occupied by the Galean Empire for an advanced outpost. Torken's people were either slaughtered or enslaved in one night of fire and blood.

Although Torken managed to escape and flee into the highlands making it into the Black Shroud and eventually to Gridania. Building on his skills with his name sake the Queb, a highland boar spear, he joined the Adventurer's and the Lancer's guilds. Until recently he fought for Gridania in order to hone his skills and pay back those who had taken him in. Claiming he needed to earn money so he could reach the sea, Torken suddenly announced one day he was setting out for Thanalan and the notorious city of Ul'dah. Going to sea was something he has often stated was something he would like to do. Upon reaching Ul'dah he hired himself out as a enforcer and mercenary.
