Reis stands with an air of confidence about her, which is most noted in the gleam in her mismatched sky blue and ice blue eyes. She has a soft face with high cheekbones, a slim nose, high trimmed brows and a rounded chin to compliment her mischievous smiles. Her skin is naturally sunkissed with no noticeable imperfections save the occasional nicks, cuts and burns on her fingertips from her work. Reiswind is extremely sensitive about her rosacea, which leaves her cheeks constantly blushed light pink. Although her well toned waist, arms, and legs are not to be overlooked, she has a delicate flair to her hips and large swell of her breasts to give her distinct feminine appeal. Reis prefers robes and hunting gear that reflects her status as a Dravanian witch and a minstrel. Typically she wears a golden chocobo ring on one hand and a ring which acts as a crystal ball on the opposite hand. On her left ear she usually wears a chocobo chick earring to display her passion as a veterinarian and jockey. When she really wants to make sure you know without doubt she’s a witch, Reis adorns one of her many enormous pointy hats.
What most people don’t know, however, is that Reis is very uncomfortable and insecure about her appearance. Many of her alchemical experiments are focused on changing her image to that of an Elezen female as she is determined she would be much happier if only she was more graceful, tall, and beautiful. The one formula Reiswind can never seem to perfect though is a fantasia potion and her attempts often have disastrous consequences. It is not unusual for Reis’ normally white locks to change color and style, most often as a result of these alchemy experiments gone horribly wrong!

On the surface, Reis is always optimistic and looks at the bright side of things, even when all seems hopeless. This attitude makes Reiswind a natural (mis)adventurer who has no problem whatsoever dragging her friends into potential danger, chasing the truths behind stories she has read. She is intellectual and enthusiastic with people, always interested in different kinds of subjects, especially if she can glean something new and fascinating.
What seems to leave a lasting impression on others is her unique sense of humor. Her most common brand of antics are sexually suggestive double-entendres in the form of song, prose and sometimes cooking recipes. Whether Reiswind is quite naive at times and doesn’t grasp the full meaning of her banter, or just enjoys amusing herself and others with her witticism is unknown.

Reis’ beliefs are less of any one religion, but part scientific and part philosophical. She based her theory on the idea that the universe is a well oiled machine in which all the parts work together. From her perspective all things, regardless of how big or small, are part of some greater cosmic mechanism. There is a meaning to the lives of all people and an interconnection that leads each person to their Fates. Aether, deities, the stars, and technology are all just components in the grander scheme in the overall design of Hydaelyn, according to Reis.

Reiswind firmly believes deep down everyone is at least a little crazy.

==A Brief (Incomplete) History==

Reiswind’s backstory is intentionally incomplete at this moment. I plan on making her a Red Witch in the expansion, so I am leaving her story open order to make room to include the new job in a way that will make sense. Although I’m not opposed to lore bending, lore breaking is something I want to avoid. The best way to get to know Reis at this moment in time is to ask her in game!
What I am willing to share of Reis’ tale is that she and her siblings were raised by a coven of three women known as The Witches of Avalonia. As a child she was free to roam the Wyvernlands and befriend the hunters of Tailfeather. By the age of five, Reis displayed a unique gift for alchemy under the tutelage of the witches and possessed a gift for befriending and healing the local fauna. Reiswind also became friends with a stable boy and bard from the Brume by the name of William (Liam) Kensley.
Shortly after her seventeenth birthday Reis’ grandmother passed away. Reiswind became the new third member of the coven and a fully fledged witch. Not long after that, Stellamaris felt the call to a distant lands, packed her things and disappeared during the night. Meanwhile, her brother had become a fully fledged chocobo hunter and left home for a new life among those in Tailfeather. The result of this became that Liam and Reis increasingly spent more time together and eventually her feelings for her childhood friend turned to love. Liam himself was quite smitten… with a Elezen female by the name of Costette Breagault, the daughter of a Isghardian priest. Although Reis knew Liam’s feelings for her would never be returned, she helped Liam in his pursuit of Cosette. Unfortunately, her naivety and good intentions landed her in an Ishgardian prison and awaiting trial for witchcraft.
Just when Reis was certain she was headed for the Witch Drop, she was rescued by a chance meeting between a mysterious poro roggo who claimed to be a grand wizard transformed into a frog and a cocky sky pirate by the name Aristide Sovaire. Unwilling and unable to return home, Reis joined the pirate’s crew as a navigator, using her star globe to guide them through the skies. During this time Reiswind developed her skills as a bard in memory of her former love, although most of the songs she learned and composed seemed to raise the eyebrows of those who weren’t among her pirate crew. Eventually Reis and Aristide became a couple and expanded their company to include a modest fleet of ships pillaging the Rhotano Sea of Garlean supply troops.
Unfortunately for Reis, a pirates word is rarely to be trusted and thus she ended up stranded on the coast of Vylbrand, which is where our story begins…

*Quintessence - A sky blue chocobo.
*Blazing Saddle - An ink blue chocobo. The product of much toil, Blazing Saddle is Reiswind’s racing chocobo.
*Wart - A poro roggo. Reiswind’s web-footed companion who insists his name is Archimedes Elfoix Sevard the 3rd, who once served in the king Ishgard’s royal court as a Grand Wizard and alchemist. He is constantly pestering pretty maidens for a kiss to transform him back into a Elezen, although it seems it hasn't worked yet (neither obtaining the kiss and the transformation that supposedly would follow). Weather his story is true or not, Reiswind finds him to be a wealth of magical knowledge and dead useful for helping to create wondrous potions.
*Lucky - Reiswind’s familiar. A black coeurl kitten. Reis rescued the tiny kitten after being attacked by a bandersnatch. Although his original owners had abandoned hope of its recovery, Reiswind nursed him back to health using her alchemy. Over the years of being exposed to aether (or perhaps by drinking the wrong potion in Reis’ lab) he seems to have developed magical properties, including the ability to never age beyond that of a kitten. This also seemed to grace him with the ability to get in and out of a tricky situation unscathed. He is named Lucky because he is simply lucky to be alive.

*Reiswind’s story evolved from the Witches series by Terry Pratchett. Her tale and personality is an amalgamation of all four witches in the series. She was *not* named after Rincewind, although without doubt Reis’ favorite color is octarine. Reis has also adopted some of the aspects of Harry Dresden, hero of Jim Butcher’s The Dresden Files books and tv show.

*All songs sung by Reiswind are paradies adapted from real world songs. In writing Reis’ songs I rewrite them myself to fit her character and the world of Eorzea so they are never plagiarized or ripped off I view Reis as more of a folk singer, so no one will ever hear her sing a pop song. She is currently working on a book entitled, “Mewsical Me”.

*If something looks like it was inspired by something else, you’re probably right. I always give credit where credit is due since if I love something, I hope others will like it too! However, Reis is such a crazy hodgepodge of things I enjoy that she’s become something original unto herself.
