Evien mal Sheol is a Miqo'te originally from Sharlayan who betrayed Eorzea to join the Garlean Empire.

History
Originally X'Evien Tia and hailing from Sharlayan, when he was younger had attended the Studium and graduated as an Archon. X'Evien quickly became a renowned expert in aetherology and the manipulation of souls. When he met a young woman named Celhi Sheol, he moved with her the the Shroud and changed his name, loving her enough to embrace the Keeper of the Moon culture. Their daughter Invia was born shortly after in the South Shroud.

Celhi died when Invia was young, and Evien fell into his work as a coping mechanism, and perhaps a desperate home to try and revive her. It wasn't long before his aetherology research on the soul seemed to have become all he cared about. Eventually it came to a head five years ago, when lamenting the lack of research resources that Gridania could provide to him and Sharlayan's refusal to let him back in after leaving them, Evien turned to a third option: the Garlean Empire. This caused a terrible argument and falling-out between father and daughter, but all Evien seemed to care for was the opportunity to further his research. In the dead of night he crossed Baelsar's Wall to betray Eorzea for the Empire, and from his already existing reputation and skill, he quickly saw himself rise through the ranks to mal. Invia stayed behind in Eorzea and became an adventurer to fulfill her childhood dream of being a hero.

Stormblood
During the Eorzean Alliance's siege of Ala Mhigo, Invia temporarily split off from the rest of the group to locate her father in his laboratory. During their emotional confrontation the battling throughout the city caused ceruleum tanks to detonate and bring down the laboratory, and despite everything that had happened, Invia shielded her father from the explosions and raining debris. Though on the verge of death, Invia knew she had saved someone she loved...only for him to do shortly the same. Using the fruits of his research into the soul, Evien used forbidden magicks to give his life for his daughter's. Invia was brought back from the other side at the cost of her father's life, and as his last act of love toward his daughter, saved from the destruction and spirited her to safety.

Character
Appearance
Tall, thin, and with facial features that can only be described as 'bony', Evien is probably the dictionary image of a Garlean scientist. His clothing and greying blond hair are always kept impeccably clean. He carries a pocket chronometer on his person, and the inside cover has a portrait of his daughter when she was young.

Personality
While consumed by his research since Celhi's death, ultimately everything he has done was for Invia and his late wife.

Evien has a surprising love for theater despite his cold exterior. Even more oddly, he has a taste for pickles.

Combat
Evien is not a fighter, though he is skilled in manipulating aether, especially that of the soul.
Invia Sheol , or Invi for short, is a Miqo'te from the Black Shroud.

History
Her mother Celhi died when she was young, while her father Evien was a renowned genius in the field of aetherology, especially the study of souls. Originally X'Evien Tia and hailing from Sharlayan, when he was younger had attended the Studium and graduated as an Archon. When he met Celhi Sheol, he moved with her the the Shroud and changed his name, loving her enough to embrace the Keeper of the Moon culture. Invia was born shortly after in the South Shroud.

Ever since she was a small child Invia being told them by her ill mother, Invia has been captivated by tales of heroes and knights in shining armor. When given the chance the two of them always went to see plays at Mih Khetto's Amphitheatre in Gridania, such as her favorite story I Want to Be Your Canary. She and her friends spent time playing make-believe heroes in the dark woods of the Black Shroud, swimming in the cool rivers and lakes, or exploring the ruins of Amdapor or tunnels of Gelmorra scattered across the woods. It was during these visits to the latter that Invia came to learn something about her nature.

For as long as she can remember, Invia has had an affinity to a certain branch of magicks: the manipulation of the souls of the dead. Since she was young she had had an affinity for ashkin and, to an extent, been able to use their powers for herself. This power of the souls of the deceased also tended to attract voidsent to her, and there were plenty of those wandering the Shroud left over from the War of the Magi. During her childhood excursions into Gelmorran and Amdapori ruins, she had more than one chilling encounter with a ghost or imp of some sort.

Invia's mother Celhi died when she was young, and afterward her father threw himself into his work.

Her father leaving was the prompt Invia herself needed to finally go off and learn more about her own powers, as well as become a hero like the ones in the stories from her childhood. Invia initially tried to go to Sharlayan for knowledge, but her father's choice to join Garlemald prompted the Forum to bar all access to his family. Instead she chose to settle herself in Limsa Lominsa for access to the many tomes within the Arcanists' Guild.

Invia was brought back from the other side at the cost of her father's life, and as his last act of love toward his daughter, saved from the destruction and spirited her to safety. The catalyst at the source of this spell was a white crystal pendant, which Invia now keeps on her at all times as a memento.

Her recent near-death experience turned streaks of her hair white and increased her sensitivity to the souls of the dead.

Character
Appearance
Several thin silver bracelets hangs on Invia's left wrist, and she wears a white crystal pendant around her neck carved into a teardrop shape and held by a thin gold chain. Her figure hints at a youth spent playing in and exploring the nearby forest and ruins. She's left-handed.

Streaks of her hair are white, and her eyes are a brilliant silver. The streaks in her hair only appeared after a recent near-death experience. She has a sensitivity to ghosts and spirits, and sometimes feels like she can see souls flowing through the normally-invisible lifestream.

Personality
Invia is a warm, friendly person, but she is lacks confidence in herself and tends to get offended or angry easily even if that wasn't your intent. Invia simply adores children and strives to be a "cool big sister" to any she befriends. She is a self-described tomboy and enjoys swimming and exploring the wilds.

Invia's shelves are filled with books of magick, history, and works of fiction, such as her favorite childhood tale I Want to Be Your Canary. From both a desire to learn more about her abilities and exploring Amdapor's ruins has a child she has grown a fascination with the Fifth Astral Era and War of the Magi. When she has free time and the weather permits it, she is often found outdoors drawing.

Combat
Invia has always had a knack for wielding the magicks of the departed souls of the living she was young, and as an extension of her research on that was self-taught in the basics of thaumaturgy. She also has a talent toward casting glamours and illusions.

She is skilled in melee combat with a spear, and often mixes both weapon and spellcraft together. She moves quickly and makes rapid strikes, and incorporates kicks and flips into her fighting as well - perhaps more just for show than any practical reason.
Invia Sheol , or Invi for short, is a Miqo'te from the conquered city-state of Lindblum in Ilsabard.

History
Invia comes from Lindblum, a city-state in the temperate Aerbs Mountains of western Ilsabard, not far from Werlyt. For further elaboration, see here.

Her parents, being raised in Garlean society themselves, eschewed tribal Miqo'te lifestyle in favor of just being a couple. Her mother Celhi died when she was young, while her father Evien mal Sheol was a renowned genius in the field of aetherology, especially the study of souls. When he was younger had attended the Magitek Academy in the imperial capital and graduated to become a mal-ranked researcher in the IXth Imperial Legion.

Evfer since she was a small child Invia being told them by her ill mother, Invia has been captivated by tales of heroes and knights in shining armor. She and her friends often played make-believe heroes in both the city and the wilderness outside its walls. As the daughter of a ranking researcher Invia lived a comfortable life in imperial-occupied territory despite not being a Garlean. Still, her upbringing did not turn her into some Garlean sympathizer; as she grew up hearing the stories of heroes and befriended those less fortunate, she too sought to see Lindblum freed. Eventually Invia decided to set off and become a hero herself, choosing Eorzea as her goal because of the many adventurers already found there. Of course this put her at odds with her father, who was quite happy in his position.

Invia also had another factor which convinced her to set off. For as long as she could remember Invia had an affinity to a certain branch of magicks: the manipulation of the souls of the dead. Since she was young she had had an affinity for ashkin and, to an extent, been able to use their powers for herself. Her investigation into her talents led to her learning the basics of thaumaturgy as well. She chose to travel to Eorzea due to its history of heavy use of magick, hoping that there she would refine her control to become a hero like the ones in the stories she so loved. Her father remained in the imperial forces back in Lindblum, estranged from his daughter for her choice as he was quite happy with his station in life.

Invia set herself up in Limsa Lominsa and while working as an adventurer also began research into the War of the Magi and the history of the Fifth Astral Era's magical civilizations.

Shadowbringers
After Emperor Varis's death, the Empire fell into civil war and all of Ilsabard was caught up in the chaos. Lindblum was the sight of a three-way battle between two imperial legions and a group of resistance fighters, of which Invia herself was a part of. In the middle of the fighting she had an emotional confrontation with her father at his lab in Castrum Caligo. During their confrontation battling across the city caused ceruleum tanks to detonate and bring down the castrum, and despite everything that had happened, Invia shielded her father from the explosions and raining debris. The catalyst at the source of this spell was a white crystal pendant, which Invia now keeps on her at all times as a memento.

Her recent near-death experience turned streaks of her hair white and increased her sensitivity to ghosts.

Character
Appearance
Several thin silver bracelets hangs on Invia's left wrist, and she wears a white crystal pendant around her neck carved into a teardrop shape and held by a thin gold chain. Her figure hints at a youth spent playing in the city streets and exploring the nearby wilderness. She's left-handed.

Streaks of her hair are white, and her eyes are a brilliant silver. The streaks in her hair only appeared after her near-death experience.

She is a self-described tomboy and enjoys exploring the wilds. Since her arrival in La Noscea she has discovered a love of the sea.

Invia's shelves are filled with books of magick, history, and works of fiction, such as the Zodiac Brave Story and her favorite childhood tale I Want to be Your Canary. Over the course of her time in Eorzea she has also come to find a fascination with the Fifth Astral Era. When she has free time and the weather permits it, she is often found outdoors drawing.

Seeing as she spent her entire life under Garlean rule she uses Garlean terms for some Eorzean concepts, such as "eikon" instead of "primal". Hailing from Lindblum, she refers to aether as "Mist".

Ironically given more recent developments in her life, she has a fear of ghosts.

Invia has always had a knack for wielding the magicks of the departed souls of the living she was young, and as an extension of her research on that was self-taught in the basics of thaumaturgy. She also has a talent toward casting glamours and illusions.
Evien mal Sheol is a Miqo'te from the imperial-conquered city-state of Lindblum, but has "betrayed" his countrymen (not that he sees it that way) to happily work as a mal-ranked researcher for Garlemald.

History
Evien was born in Lindblum, a conquered imperial province in Ilsabard. A natural-born genius in the ways of manipulating aether (especially regarding the soul), so much that in his youth he was accepted into the Magitek Academy in the imperial capital. After graduation he was assigned to the IXth Imperial Legion's science division and quickly climbed the ranks to mal. He was happy to do so, as the army's funding and resources gave him more opportunities than he could ever achieve on his own. Raised in Garlean culture, when he met his love Celhi they chose to be a simple couple instead of the usual Miqo'te tribal lifestyle.

Despite not being native Garleans Evien's rank afforded his family a nice life in Lindblum, though his wife Celhi died of illness when their daughter Invia was still young. Evien was often seen as a traitor to the Lindblum cause, but he does not see it that way; after all, has not the level of technology and understanding of aether rocketed since Lindblum was conquered? He is only helping them prosper!

Evien's daughter Invia would eventually leave Lindblum to "become a hero", something Evien dismissed. Even though he truly does love her, they had a rather large fight and falling out over the matter because they fundamentally disagreed about Garlemald. Evien continued to research in Valnain until he was assigned a more dangerous task: aiding the fight against the Bozjan Resistance.

Personality
Evien has a surprising love for theater despite his cold exterior. Even more oddly, he has a taste for pickles.

Combat
Evien is not a fighter, though he is skilled in manipulating aether, especially that of the soul.
Invia Sheol , or Invi for short, is a Miqo'te from the conquered city-state of Lindblum in Ilsabard.

History
Invia comes from Lindblum, a city-state in the temperate parts of Ilsabard not very far from Werlyt. It is built on the slopes of a small mountain, and so mass transit like cable cars and airtrolleys are used to navigate the verticality of the city. Lindblum is both a center of the arts and a major manufacturer of airships for the empire, and the Castrum Caligo (formerly Lindblum's palace) at the peak of the city was the center of operations for the IXth Imperial Legion. Lindblum is known as a haven for beastmen that are persecuted by the Garlean Empire, and so they make up a surprisingly high percentage of the population compared to other imperial provinces. At the base of the mountain on which Lindblum is built is a forest called the Iifa Woods. The forest is so dense with aether that it's visible to the naked eye, and so has come to be known as Mist to the residents. The Mist is so thick that it obscures sunlight from reaching the depths of the Iifa Woods, and the dark reaches are haunted by rather monstrous wildlife mutated by countless generations of exposure to the Mist, as well as Voidsent attracted by the dense aether. Local folklore says that the presence of such concentrated aether is due to a disruption in the flow of souls in the lifestream in the area.

Invia was brought back from the other side at the cost of her father's life, and as his last act of love toward his daughter, saved from the destruction and spirited her to safety. The catalyst at the source of this spell was a white crystal pendant, which Invia now keeps on her at all times as a memento.

She is skilled in melee combat with a spear, and often mixes both weapon and spellcraft together. She moves quickly and makes rapid strikes, and incorporates kicks and flips into her fighting as well - perhaps more just for show than any practical reason.

Shadowbringers
After Emperor Varis's death, the Empire fell into civil war and all of Ilsabard was caught up in the chaos. Lindblum was the sight of a three-way battle between two imperial legions and a group of resistance fighters, of which Invia herself was a part of. In the middle of the fighting she had an emotional confrontation with her father at his lab in the castrum. During their confrontation battling across the city caused ceruleum tanks to detonate and bring down the castrum, and despite everything that had happened, Invia shielded her father from the explosions and raining debris.

Lindblum is both a center of the arts and a major manufacturer of airships for the empire, and the imperial castrum (formerly Lindblum's palace) at the peak of the city was the center of operations for the IXth Imperial Legion.

Her parents, being raised in Garlean society themselves, eschewed tribal Miqo'te lifestyle in favor of just being a couple. Her mother Celhi died when she was young, while her father Evien mal Sheol was a renowned genius in the field of aetherochemistry and the study of souls.

Invia was brought back from the other side at the cost of her father's life, and as his last act of love toward his daughter, saved from the destruction and spirited her to safety. The catalyst at the source of this spell was a white crystal pendant, which Invia now keeps on her at all times as a memento.

Ironically given more recent developments in her life, she has a fear of ghosts.

She is skilled in melee combat with a spear, and often mixes both weapon and spellcraft together. She moves quickly and makes rapid strikes, and incorporates kicks and flips into her fighting as well - perhaps more just for show than any practical reason.

Her parents, being raised in Garlean society themselves, eschewed tribal Miqo'te lifestyle in favor of just being a couple. Her mother Celhi died when she was young, while her father Evien mal Sheol was a renowned genius in the field of aetherochemistry and the study of souls.

In the middle of the fighting she had an emotional confrontation with her father at his lab in the castrum. During their confrontation battling across the city caused ceruleum tanks to detonate and bring down the castrum, and despite everything that had happened, Invia shielded her father from the explosions and raining debris.

She is a self-described tomboy and enjoys exploring and hiking.

Invia comes from Lindblum, a city-state in the temperate parts of Ilsabard not very far from Werlyt. It is built on the slopes of a small mountain, and so mass transit like cable cars and airtrolleys are used to navigate the verticality of the city. Lindblum is both a center of the arts and a major manufacturer of airships for the empire, and the imperial castrum (formerly Lindblum's palace) at the peak of the city was the center of operations for the IXth Imperial Legion. Invia Sheol , or Invi for short, is a Miqo'te from the conquered city-state of Lindblum in Ilsabard.

History
Invia comes from Lindblum, a city-state in the temperate parts of Ilsabard not very far from Werlyt. It is built on the slopes of a small mountain, and so mass transit like cable cars and miniature airships are used to navigate the verticality of the city. Lindblum is both a center of the arts and a major manufacturer of airships for the empire, and the imperial castrum (formerly Lindblum's palace) at the peak of the city was the center of operations for the IXth Imperial Legion.

Her parents, being raised in Garlean society themselves, eschewed tribal Miqo'te lifestyle in favor of just being a couple. Her mother Celhi died when she was young, while her father Evien mal Sheol was a renowned genius in the field of aetherochemistry and the study of souls.

In the middle of the fighting she had an emotional confrontation with her father at his lab in the castrum. During their confrontation battling across the city caused ceruleum tanks to detonate and bring down the castrum, and despite everything that had happened, Invia shielded her father from the explosions and raining debris.

Her recent near-death experience increased her sensitivity to ghosts.

Character
Appearance
Several thin silver bracelets hangs on Invia's left wrist, and she wears a white crystal pendant around her neck carved into a teardrop shape and held by a gold chain. She found it while exploring the Iifa Woods. Her figure hints at a youth spent playing in the city streets and exploring the nearby wilderness. She's left-handed.

Streaks of her hair are white, and her eyes are a brilliant silver.

She is a self-described tomboy and enjoys sports when she isn't spending her downtime reading.

When she has free time and the weather permits it, she is often found outdoor reading or drawing.

History
Invia comes from Lindblum, a city-state in the temperate parts of Ilsabard not very far from Werlyt. It is built on the slopes of a small mountain, and so cable cars and mass transit airships are used to navigate the verticality of the city. Lindblum is a major manufacturer of airships for the empire, and the imperial castrum (formerly Lindblum's palace) at the peak of the city was the center of operations for the IXth Imperial Legion. The Mist is so thick that it obscures sunlight from reaching the depths of the Iifa Woods, and the dark reaches are haunted by rather monstrous wildlife mutated by countless generations of exposure to the Mist. Local folklore says that the presence of such concentrated aether is due to a disruption in the flow of souls in the lifestream in the area.

Her parents, being raised in Garlean society themselves, eschewed tribal Miqo'te lifestyle in favor of just being a couple. Her mother Celhi died when she was young, while her father Evien mal Sheol was a renowned genius in the field of aetherochemistry and the study of souls.

In the middle of the fighting she had an emotional confrontation with her father at his lab in the castrum. During their confrontation battling across the city caused ceruleum tanks to detonate and bring down the castrum, and despite everything that had happened, Invia shielded her father from the explosions and raining debris.

Her figure shows a lifetime playing sports in the city streets and exploring the nearby wilderness. She's left-handed.

Streaks of her hair are white, and her eyes are a brilliant silver.

She often played in both the city and the wilderness outside its walls along with the other children of Lindblum.

In the middle of the fighting she had an emotional confrontation with her father at his lab in the castrum. During their confrontation battling across the city caused ceruleum tanks to detonate and bring down the castrum, and despite everything that had happened, Invia shielded her father from the explosions and raining debris.

Her recent near-death experience increased her sensitivity to ghosts.

Character
Appearance
A thin silver charm bracelet hangs on Invia's left wrist, each charm on it a memento of family and friends. She wears a white crystal pendant around her neck carved into a teardrop shape and held by a gold chain. She found it while exploring the Iifa Woods. Her figure shows a lifetime playing sports in the city streets and exploring the nearby wilderness. She's left-handed.

Streaks of her hair are white, and her eyes are a brilliant silver.

She is a self-described tomboy and enjoys sports when she isn't spending her downtime reading.

When she has free time and the weather permits it, she is often found outdoor reading or drawing.

She is skilled in melee combat with a spear, and often mixes both weapon and spellcraft together. She moves quickly and makes rapid strikes, and incorporates kicks and flips into her fighting as well - perhaps more just for show than any practical reason.
Lindblum is a major manufacturer of airships for the empire, and the imperial castrum (formerly Lindblum's palace) at the peak of the city was the center of operations for the IXth Imperial Legion. The Mist is so thick that it obscures sunlight from reaching the depths of the Iifa Woods, and the dark reaches are haunted by rather monstrous wildlife mutated by countless generations of exposure to the Mist.

A natural-born genius in the ways of manipulating aether, so much that in his youth he was accepted into the Magitek Academy in the imperial capital.

Personality
Evien has a surprising love for theater despite his cold exterior. Even more oddly, he has a taste for pickles.

Combat
Evien is not a fighter, though he is skilled in manipulating aether, especially that of the soul.
Still, her upbringing did not turn her into some Garlean sympathizer; as she grew up hearing the stories of heroes and befriended those less fortunate on the streets, she too sought to see Lindblum freed.

Invia set herself up in Limsa Lominsa. She found a job making deliveries, and began research into the War of the Magi and the history of the Fifth Astral Era's magical civilizations.

Character
Appearance
A thin silver charm bracelet hangs on Invia's left wrist, each charm on it a memento of family and friends. She wears a white crystal pendant around her neck carved into a teardrop shape and held by a gold chain. Her figure shows a lifetime playing sports in the city streets and exploring the nearby wilderness. She's left-handed.

Streaks of her hair are white, and her eyes are a brilliant silver.

She is a self-described tomboy and enjoys sports when she isn't spending her downtime reading.

When she has free time and the weather permits it, she is often found outdoor reading or drawing.
