General Information

Weiss Loire, real name Sigurd Eruyt ( Sigurðr Eruyt), is a young Rava Viera hailing from the Eruyt Village on Golmore Jungle. A former Wood-warder, Sigurd was able to go through the bloody rite of passage and survive to become a warrior for his tribe, keeping watch over its domain and the forest surrounding it. For years he followed the laws of the Viera and the Green Word to heart, however as time went by he started feeling unease as whispers of passerby’s spoke about the current events of the world.

Despite this he would continue to adhere by the rules of his people and protect the forest, until the faithful day he faced a Voidsent who was targeting a zone of the village domain for its aether. More Wood-warders were able to arrive on the scene to serve as a backup, however they were too late to avoid the incident that made every animal present perish but Sigurd, the Wood-warders themselves, and a single juvenile Chocobo. Although they were successful at making the twisted being perish, unknown to them a fragment of its essence made its way into Sigurd’s body leaving behind a mark that was easily mistakenly as a curse left from the fell beast. This occurrence was the starting point of his adventure, when Sigurd decided that in order to avoid placing the Village and the forest in danger he would leave in a journey to look for a cure for his curse. Until then he would be deem dead for everyone.

When he left Eruyt Village, he took pity of the Chocobo he saved and took it with him, affectionately calling him Boko. As many moons came and went, the Viera met many people of different casts and races, especially after reaching Eorzea in order to get away from the clutches of the Empire, and soon adopted the moniker Weiss Loire for himself, as his Forest Name was as good as dead. As for the nature of the voidsent mark left on his body back in Golmore, that's something the future is yet to reveal.

Appearance

A young Viera, from the Rava, clan with dark skin, thick, shoulder-length, silver-white hair, light blue eyes, and long ears which are covered in white fur with speckles of black fur at the tips. Weiss most often wears above his lean and toned build the typical outfit of the Wood-warders in his homeland, which adorns his right shoulder, forearms, and leg-wear in a metal adorned with filigree, and a brownish short-shirt that reveals his stomach. Underneath, he wears a pair of cedar-colored baggy pants with interconnecting black belts, filled with adornments, which rests above a white fur sash wrapped around his waist along with a pair of brownish fingerless gloves. Finally, his sollerets, which cover the lower part of his pants, have a claw-like design at the toes.

When not wearing his traditional Wood-warder clothing, he can be seen wearing clothes of a similar fashion, not only out of personal preference but also out of convenience so it doesn’t get in the way of duties such as hunting, battling, or scouting his surroundings. Despite this, he won’t deny the use of a different kind of fashion if appropriate for the occasion or if he feels in the mood to do so.

An introverted, Weiss presents himself as a sarcastic and scathing, serious, self-possessed, sardonic, moody, and cynical, who does not smile often nor breaks his stoic and stern demeanor. Preferring efficiency, he dislikes "small talk", cutting his sentences down to the bare minimum needed to get a point across, or usually uses "whatever," for want of the current topic to be dropped, often following with changing the subject. As such he is rarely the one to speak first, letting the others do the talking, preferring to usually offer his knowledge and insight in relevant situations. Although taciturn and seemingly cold, beneath the surface, due to coming from a closed society he is socially awkward, being well-intentioned but unsure how to carry himself in conversations, having difficulties expressing himself.

He is nonetheless kind-hearted and caring, having concern for his companions and empathy for some of his enemies, but to protect himself and due to being wary of strangers, Weiss has become reserved and prefers to keep his emotions locked up, choosing to examine the world with realism and logic. This combined with what he learned back when he used to protect the forest, made his outlook on life somewhat cynical: as far as he's concerned, the strong survive and the weak perish, and that's just the way it is. That doesn't mean he is heartless, as he does care about his companions, but doesn't show it the same way most people do. Instead, he believes in "tough love" by pushing others to be stronger to ensure they can look after themselves. On the other hand, when he starts to open up with his companions, even if a little, and if he feels they are getting overenthusiastic, he uses sardonic quips to jolt them to their senses as he prefers to approach situations rationally, with a collected and confident attitude, and plan out the objectives to ensure that what is necessary gets done instead of just rush blindly to the objective.

Tidy by nature, he prefers cleanliness; he cleans to alleviate stress. He dedicates free time to the watch the forests nearby, protecting its denizens from beasts, and teaching them self-defense. Weiss was also one of the few Male Vieras to recently question their beliefs on objective terms.

Wood-warders would return every three years to Eryut to mate or claim any young males that entered adulthood, Sigurd would only go so he could catch up with his family. His devotion is so great that after having the faithful encounter with a Voidsent, which left him scarred in more ways than one, Sigurd departed to find a cure for whatever happened to him and therefore avoid placing Eryut in Danger. He, however, upholds his costumes and the law of the Green Word to heart even when outside the Village, taking the moniker of Weiss Loire while outside of Golmore Jungle's surroundings.

Aside from the Green Word, Weiss has no interest in gods or the divine. He knows, however, to respect other people whose beliefs depend on it as long as it doesn't hurt man or nature.

The way he moves on the battlefield makes one believe his opponents are making a swift dance with death itself thanks to the way he moves around swiftly and lands his blows in quick succession with efficiency and precision. He knows however that there are warriors far more powerful than him, so he keeps training his mind and body to not perish on the battlefield.</p>

Weiss's style focuses on agility and dealing attacks in quick succession instead of focusing on single strong yet slow blows. One of the teachings in this area was how to confront an armed opponent and how to disarm him to regain vantage on the battlefield.</p>

:*<p><b><u>Spears</u>:</b> One of the weapons, commonly used by the Wood-warders, for close combat scenarios. As such, he was instructed on it to a point he can confidently use it without second-guessing his judgment on wielding it.</p>

<spoiler>After leaving Golmore Jungle to depart for his Journey, Sigurd decided to explore the ruins of Rabanastre. Back when he was still a wood-warder, the Viera was accustomed to keeping himself to the shadows of Golmore to maintain his presence unseen, a habit that would present itself an advantage for the foreseeable future. Even though exploring what was left from the recently razed city presented a huge risk, Sigurd was willing to take it if it meant getting some leads where to head next. If the worst would come to pass, he could always dispose of any threat as needed.

As he ventured through the ruins of Rabanastre , his ears could pick up in the distance the sounds of armor walking through the stoned floor indicating the presence of either survivors or worst, the Empire. Even though he was fairly confident in his skills, it was no time to throw all his caution to the wind. He kept to himself as he ventured forth while using the remaining buildings and structures as a hidden place to scout the area ahead, moving swiftly between all the safe spots he could see. Having explored most of the city and not finding any leads or places of interest still standing, Sigurd decided to quit his investigation around the ruins and decided to head out to avoid detection from the armored presence he had heard. On his way back, the Viera felt a presence approaching placing him on the defensive. With his scythe on hand, his eyes scanned the surrounding. Noticing that the Viera was privy of his presence, an ash-colored Bangaa appeared from behind what was once a stone pillar, wearing nothing but some old shorts, some protective wrist wraps, and a leather blindfold. The Bangaa introduced himself as Banok – And I’m not a Lizard. – he concluded. Seeing as the wood-warder was still holding a defensive stance, Banok showed him a Scythe before dropping it into the floor, followed by a set of knives, and telling him if he wanted to kill the Viera he would have done so when he set foot on the ruined city.

After a while, the tension between both quickly dropped and they started to be more open to each other presence, deciding to exchange information; Sigurd retold the events that made him leave Golmore, leaving outside of his retelling information about the Viera way of life or regarding the Wood-warders, and Banok, in return, retold what events transpired in Rabanastre, how was Dalmasca holding, and that the city had indeed a very small number of Imperial Soldiers still walking around. Additionally, the Bangaa also informed him that he was a Reaper, someone who was able to commune with the void to harvest its powers – However, I don’t know that much in-depth about Voidsents. – Banok informed as he retrieved his weapons and accessories from the place he previously dropped them, telling his new acquaintance the little he knew about the subject and about the origins of the Reaper art and how it connected back to the Empire origins. Despite Banok willingly telling all this information, Sigurd knew he was also keeping some secrets, such as how a Bangaa came to possess such knowledge, however seeing as he also kept some things hidden he decided to not press the matter for the time being.

While both of them kept talking, footsteps could be heard approaching where they were, making them both exit the city to avoid being caught. In the following months, they both grew closer and Sigurd started seeing the Bangaa as a fatherly figure, who taught him about his art and how to use it, gave him work, food, and shelter, and even an armor that helped the Viera keep his face hidden to approach clients and people more easily.

<spoiler>Many days came and gone since Sigurd met Banok back in Rabanastre. The Bangaa taught him many things in addition to the Reaper art, such as how the world was faring of late, about cities such as Old Sharlayan, Kugane, Ishgard, and many others. Incidentally, the pair was currently traveling by boat to one of the places he had recently learned about; Thavnair, the birthplace of Alchemy. According to Banok, the change of scenario would be good for the Viera to broaden his horizons. When they arrived at their destination, the former wood-warder looked around in awe as he had never seen any fauna or culture such as the one he now found himself in – We didn’t come as tourists. – warned the Bangaa in a rough tone as he lead the way outside the ship. The following weeks were spent on the Island learning more about its culture, doing odd jobs, and forging connections with the locals. One of their new contacts even taught Sigurd about the trading business, how to bargain, and how to avoid being tricked. When not learning about Thavnair culture or the trading business, the Viera spent his time either training or searching for someone knowledgeable enough about Voidsents, but while his training bear fruits, his search on the other hand didn’t.

One fateful night, however, Banok decided to tell Sigurd a bit more about his past, revealing he was working on the side with people connected to the Bozja resistance. He also revealed that he learned his art from an old Garlean man who saw himself in exile but ended up dying, due to old age, after passing his Soul Crystal to the Bangaa. In return, the Viera told a bit of his past as a Wood-warden and retold the tale of the Voidsent attack, this time in great and gruesome detail. A chilling silence followed as the two men were assimilating all the new information revealed by each other until Banok decided to break it – We could use someone like you in the resistance. – he said with a distant gaze. In truth, the Bangaa knew how capable the Viera was on the battlefield, but tried to hold in those words to avoid involving the boy in foreign affairs. This time, however, was different since there was a window of opportunity for the Dalmasca resistance to recover their land from the Empire. Having heard his mentor's words, Sigurd agreed to lend a hand and postpone his search for Voidsent information for the time being. The former wood-warder was then informed about the Bozja incident in the past and what the resistance was hoping to achieve in the present.

<spoiler>Bozja was finally liberated from the empire and many were the people ready to help rebuild it from the ground up. Having helped the resistance ever since they started to hold their camp in Gangos, Sigurd was getting ready to return to his quest to find answers regarding Voidsents curse and nature. His body was still recovering from all the hardships he had faced, but despite serving as a scout on both fronts he didn’t meet with the legendary Warrior of Light, which was said to lend its power to the Bozja Resistance. All of the Vieras efforts, however, awarded him with a new resistance weapon, a Lance crafted after the legend of the Blades of Gunnhildr, as well as with the key for his own Al-iklil craft. Banok, on the other hand, hasn’t made an appearance since he had to resolve some matters away from the battlefield – I’ll have to investigate something in Dalmasca and I’ll join you as soon as I’m done with them. – these were the last words that Sigurd heard from the Bangaa, who entrusted him with his Reaper Soul Crystal. Decided to continue his journey as his mentor would want him to, the former Wood-warder informed Banok’s contacts on the Bozja Resistance about heading to Eorzea and the plans to investigate the Black Shroud.

His journey to Eorzea was long and tiring, but the Viera eventually reached his destination; the Black Shroud. Although fairly different from Golmore, the Shroud area filled Sigurd with a familiar feeling as the wind made itself heard among the leaves of the surrounding area. It was as if the forest itself welcomed his presence. For the following days, he explored the area in depth, fended some poachers who tried to brutally hunt en mass, and even caught some bandits, acting as if he was a wood-warder for the Black Shroud. Rumors started to arise because of his presence, but the Viera was ever cautious and stayed away from any peering eyes. When he needed to interact with people, be it to gather information, get some work, or even buy some provisions, Sigurd would wear the outfit Banok gifted him, which had a hoodie and a mask, in order to keep his identity a secret. One day, as he was exploring the forest, he found an old house. Despite being fully furnished, the number of leaves, flowers, moss, and even rust feeling its insides revealed it to be abandoned for quite some time. As he had no place to stay in Eorzea, the young man decided to take the house for himself, setting up his stuff and getting familiar with the place. As he scanned his new house, he eventually found a shelf full of books regarding many terms he haven’t heard about. Maybe one of them had the answers he was looking for, or maybe none of them had it to begin with. Regardless, he would read every single book during his off-times, while earning some coin and protecting the forest during the day from the shadows.

Unknown to him, however, was the events that were approaching; from tempering towers to the appearance of the blasphemies around the Black Shroud (and the world) as this “Final Days” were approaching, chaos ensued everywhere, keeping the Viera busy with backing up the forest denizens and the people who were in danger of succumbing to despair. There was hardly any time for reading, however as the world started to return to normal, Sigurd found himself a lot of free time for both traveling and reading. As he observed and met more people in Eorzea, especially on the Black Shroud and its surrounding territories, he finally decided to drop his forest name to be known instead by Weiss Loire.

I like to consider myself a flexible player who is willing to commit to a number of different types of scenes and role-play scenarios, but even I have my limits. If something is on the play list, assume it means yes, as long as it's within the context of the current play or ongoing plot. No's are typically a hard no, and it means don't ask for it.

I don’t have any preference regarding RP Themes, as long as they are coherent with my character. Nor do I mind doing quick RP that doesn’t affect my character (nothing of it will be counting for my character progression. It will be as if it never existed to hum) since I understand that there are people who just like to make RP without being stuck to a story.
