The following is a directory of characters in the [http://www.ffxiv-roleplayers.com/showthread.php?tid=9295 Ishgard RP LS of Balmung], mirrored from [http://tinyurl.com/IshgardDirectory here]. For ease of organization, please edit the Google Doc for your changes or additions.

==Loyalists==
Miria Vail: An inquisitor with a flair for the subtle and theatric. Generally unspoken of outside of the Holy See and the circles of that lofty order. Though, should her name ever come up in conversation, her merciless crusade against heretic and traitor in equal measure is one of the first of her qualities to be noted. Also purported to have an unhealthy fascination with fire, much to her victims’ chagrin.

[[V'aleera Lhuil]]: A peasant born to immigrant parents in the city of Ishgard proper, V'aleera earned knighthood and her title of dragoon through determination, hard work, and pious faith. Wholly devoted to the protection of Ishgard and its people, she longs to return home to face the dragon menace on the front lines but is barred from doing so by the machinations of a vindictive nobleman.

[[Orrin Halgren]]: From a minor Noble House, Dragoon on leave by permission of House Fortemps to conduct business outside of Ishgard. Despite the smallness of his house, became known relatively well amongst nobility for the many negative rumors surrounding his lineage. Amongst other knights and Dragoons though, he is generally well accepted, even feared for his brutality in combat.

[[Aurege Davilles]]: An inquisitor of the Holy See, separated from the nation during the Calamity. Assigned to look into the disappearance of Ishgardian Knights of the Owl's nest five years ago, Aurege was assigned to Gridania, where he poses as a conjurer, assessing the Black Shroud and the Elementals for the Holy See.

Swaylana Galthens: a popular Noble, from the well known House of Haillenarte in Ishgard. House of Haillenarte is really well off and respected in Ishgard, they hold many Adviser positions. She just finished her studies, and is hoping in time to get an Advisers position working for the Archbishop in Ishgard. She receives a letter from The Holy See that she is to be Handler of a fellowship of Ishgardian's, to go to the city-states and investigate if the help they ask for is truly needed.

[[Marisa Stormsong]]: One of the more unremarkable members of House Fortemps. Currently a guard at Camp Dragonhead.

Aurelle Auberand: Born to a vassal family of House Haillenarte, Aurelle’s family has been known to produce at least one dragoon a generation. Considered to be one of the elite, she has been given the honourary title of ‘Sapphire Dragoon,’ though it is just a title with little actual weight. Following the Shiva Incident, Aurelle has been assigned to learn how other primals are dealt with, and report back to her superiors.

[[Ameline Valtin]]: Former Lieutenant-Herald to an Ishgardian Regiment of Lance. She quit the field after losing her command in a costly battle; on the run from Ishgardian interests ever since. Has a deep longing to reconnect with her homeland.

[[Asheloux Thalantos]]: Would be known by others with the last name Haton. His father was a high ranking Dragoon officer in the Ishgardian forces. He deserted the battlefield when he was faced to death to live on with his wife and soon-to-be child. Asheloux’s parents who escaped punishment from Ishgard later died at his own hands Long story short, he is now an aether researcher interested in magics of the past, present, and potential magics of the future and hides his Ishgardian roots.

[[Jessika Saphir]]: Daughter of servants to a noble house of Ishgard. Accused of heresy, the family fled Ishgard, seeking refuge in the southern area of the Black Shroud near Thanalan, where they finally settled in an Ala Mhigan refugee camp. Jessika has more of an affinity for Ala Mhigo than Ishgard as a result, even taking the patron Rhalgr over Halone. She was too young to remember Ishgard, but knows well the danger to her family, keeping her connection to the Holy See a secret and going so far as to claim the Black Shroud as her place of birth.

Juniper Anarchy: A high ranking commander in a regiment of Ishgardian dragoons. Disgraced when, after a particularly harsh battle in which most of her regiment died, she was found in bed with her sister. Fleeing from Ishgard, leaving her sister to her fate, she took an assumed name, changed her appearance, and began living life as a craftswoman. Paranoid and cowardly, yet extremely skilled.

Rhy Hennessey: Once a noble guard of the Ishgardian High Houses, he dedicated his life to oversee and protect Ishgard. However an incident that saw the death of his younger brother led him to leave Ishgard and abandon nobility. The silent Dragoon now wanders Eorzea in search of friends and a new home.

==Other==
[[Aya Foxheart]]: Ala Mhigan refugee settled with distant family who had been living in Ishgard for several generations. Entered just prior to the closing of the gates. Dancer, and part-time trouble-maker. Fled the city to enjoy the freedom of the wider world.

[[Eva Ianeira|Eva Zelorius]]: Daughter of Dyterium Zelorius whom, in his prime (circa 1535-1540), was a skilled dragoon and elevated himself quickly to the rank of Captain within the Ishgardian knighthood. He was renowned in his era, and granted land and the title of Baron by Ishgard’s elite. For reasons unclear he retired suddenly after his daughter was born and renounced his title, keeping a portion of the land on which to live and to herd sheep. Several years later both moved away from Coerthas to Gridania. Dyterium died of natural causes six moons before the Calamity. Eva herself was born Ishgardian and retains very few ties, however recently resurrected suspicions surrounding the reasons for her father’s sudden departure from the knighthood have brought some attention onto her.

[[Inessa Hara]]: Wandering knight and investigator who frequents the land of Ishgard often for training. Recently put in the lead of a fellowship of Ishgardian's, despite the fact she did not desire to lead the group.

[[Nalin Frostclaw]]: A Coerthas-born Miqo'te with a deep, rooted hatred for all things dragon. Though not of Ishgardian blood, he was taken in by a sympathetic Dragoon after the destruction of his clan; where he learned how to slay the scaled beasts. He now wanders Eorzea as a mercenary, looking for work to increase his strength to aid him in slaying dragons.

[[Meta Xi]]: Dragoon and staunch defender of Ishgard. He is constantly traveling to the lands, taking on jobs and tasks that can make use of his skill in the defense of Ishgard and its people. His ever fiery fervor to see the flying lizards dead, and pleasing results, insures to keep him employed and welcomed back.

Percival Turner: Son of Ishgardian chocobo farmers who decided to take up the adventuring life, and has found a lot of success at that. He spends much of his time now just wandering as a free knight, as well as learning a variety of schools of combat, including those of the dragoons that he grew up idolizing.

[[Xydane_Vale|Xydane Vale]]: Knight of House Kalgaren and younger brother of Marcus Vale. Xydane's considerable reputation for hunting heretics and felling dragons of the Dravanian Horde makes him respected, feared, and envied by the knights and Dragoons in Ishgard.

<span class="mw-headline">Standing at 5 fulm and 4 ilm, Lili is used to seeing the world from the shorter side of things. She used to wear her pale blonde hair long and nearly to her elbows, but has since dyed it a darker blonde that she intends to keep permanent. Her eyes are very light green with a silvery cast to the color to give it an unique, shimmering quality. While her features deceive others of her true age, she bares what marks she has with pride: Some crows feet at the corner of her eyes that show when she laughs, and similar lines at the corner of her lips that only start to show when she is smiling broadly. </span>Having bared three children (two of which were twins), she was left with rather shapely hips and added curves that she had not possessed in her youth. One of the physical features most noticed by some who meet Lili is her rather large bust despite her small size. It usually causes her a myriad of problems, as some of her shorter Miqo'te friends and Lalafell companions sometimes get suffocated when she hugs them. The rest of her is well toned from the muscle and strength it takes to wield her axe and fist weapons, and sun kissed from her years by the shores of Limsa or the sands of Ul'dah.

Having gotten pregnant at fourteen and raising or looking after her children and those of others left Lili with a maternal nature that has been driven down to the core of her very being. She tends to look out for those around her, especially those that she feels a soft spot for, or those around her children's age (teens to early twenties range). Though this maternal drive of hers doesn't make her a pushover in the least, as it is possible to ignite her ire with the right buttons being pushed. Over all, she's calm and even tempered and usually the voice of reason for those around her. Ever one to play devil's advocate. She has a surprisingly emotional and sensitive side that only a handful of people have been able to witness.

When she does happen to use her axe, it's an interesting sight since some of the weaponry are almost as big as she is. Yet she yields them with ease, using all her force with each blow. She fights with a certain level of honor, though if the situation should call for it she won't be afraid to play dirty.

They ended up being around one another off and on as time went on, and over time Lili came to see that his feelings and gestures were indeed sincere and affectionate by his repeat efforts to prove such. They were mated and even engaged for a time, and though the details of their separation are unclear Lili doesn't seem to regard the male with any ill will though you certainly won't find her seeking him out.

As their interractions have progressed, as well as his hints and confessions to seeing Lili as a prospective wife, it left her flattered by his intense emotions. While she still cares for him, they have drifted into more of an easy friendship.

The two quickly became friends and confidants, and he is the mate of T'shina Vashka. Since Lili and C'kayah started seeing one another, neither of the two have spoken much and he never said a word when he officially left the Society with T'shina and a few others. Even after C'kayah stopped being a regular part of Lili's life, Lili shows no interest in rekindling a friendship with Tendha'a or his related associates.

<font style="color:#8f8377" size="3">●</font>[[T'shina Vashka]]: A young woman Lili regards as a friend, the interactions Lili has had with C'kayah had strained their relationship. Afterwards, the two didn't speak for a while and had one rather large argument that Tenha'a even became part that drove Lili away emotionally. Things never fully recovered after that, and when finding out that Lili and C'kayah were still together, she resigned from the Society.

<font style="color:#8f8377" size="3">●</font>[[U'zhan Tia]]: A Miqo'te that Lili met due to his associations with T'shina, he asked Lili to go adventuring with him. Shortly afterwards, he stopped speaking with her. Having gotten the impression he was very much like the womanizing 'Nunh' types he claimed to dislike so much, Lili has had very little desire to rekindle a friendship. His interaction with members of her Society did not help his case and now she more or less ignores his existance.

<font style="color:#8f8377" size="3">●</font>[[Xydane Vale]]: A mysterious man Lili only met once in passing at the Botanist Guild. He was looking for a young woman ([[Clover Blake]]) and asked Lili to give her a bouquet of flowers should she ever find her. Since then, she hasn't seen him again nor found the girl he was looking for.

But the moons worth of on again off again mind games and his attitude and actions against her son have made her positively hostile. Born an only child, Lili had a comfortable life with her parents living in Ul'dah. Taking frequent trips to the countryside and the desert to look for new herbs and roots and other things that were in demand or that her parents needed to discover. They met a variety of people and went a variety places before Lili even learned how to walk, though their home territory was always Ul'dah and the Thanalans. Around the time Lili was just turning five, her parents decided to relocate to La Noscea and start maping and surveying the lush island terrain. While on the cargo ship to Limsa Lominsa, the Altairs discovered a tiny bundle that was wailing and screaming and covered in bloodied rags. A newborn Miqo'te child, still covered in the blood of labor pains, though with no mother in sight. No one on the ship knew where she came from, and eventually Lili's parents made her part of the family and named her Rahsha.

Time passed easily in La Noscea. Lili treasured little Rahsha as if she was a blood sister. The tail and ears were only a cute little addition Lili liked to play with. Around the time she was eight and Rahsha was barely three, a family moved in nearby from Ala Mhigo with a single child of their own. A dark skinned, blonde haired, red eyed little prankster of a boy named Ghislan Nightwing. He was immidiately taken with Lili, even as a young boy, and showed it in his typical fashion of flipping her skirts, pulling on her head, and throwing sand and mud balls at he face. This usually earned him retaliation of equal brutality by Lili, with assistance from little Rahsha while their parents looked on with affection and amusement.

The years passed without incident. The comings and goings of the outside world seemed far away from Lili. Her life consisted of her family and Ghislan, and it seemed to be all she needed. As Ghislan and Lili got older, they went from children to friends, and before long, they were fawning over one another in the typical girlish and boyish fashions. Shortly after Lili's fourteenth birthday gathering, their love for one another was too much to be contained (in their young eyes at least). Following their coupling, Lili realized she was pregnant, and the two quickly escaped into the night to find the closest Priestess of Menphina to bless a union between them. Their elopement was received with a measure of shock and surprise that was quickly welcomed by all, save for Rahsha. Feeling that her sister abandoned her, the little Miqo'te never quite outgrew such feelings.

And thus began the life of Mrs. Lilithium Nightwing.

The married life was one Lili slipped into with ease. Shortly after turning fifteen summers, she gave birth to Khavan Amadeus Nightwing, who looked more like his father then anything else. Despite being young, they were hard working with Lili spending the majority of her time as a house wife taking care of their son with the aide of both of their parents. While Rahsha was loving to a degree to Khavan, she was still distant with her sister. It was something that, while Lili mourned for the lack of emotion she got from her, she couldn't focus on too deeply and still provide the needed care for her family.

During the first few years of their marriage, Ghislan continued to grow. Taller and taller and taller, reaching well past the average height for a Highlander. While it certainly got attention in a crowd and delighted Lili as well, it caught the eye of a few mercenary groups who saw great potential. Soon, he was recruited and cycled through a few companies who paid well and the work was mostly geared towards training. It brought in enough profit that Lili and Ghislan built their family home from the ground up. A beautiful, pale stoned cottage melded with shells from the nearby shore.

Throwing a grand celebration with friends to honor the new homestead, everyone (even Lili) drank in good cheer. One man amoungst them, however, took advantage of the situation. A long time friend of the couples' who joined Ghislan as a healer in some of his fights and jobs, his poor health would be the death of him soon and they all knew it. Amore Silverlark was his name, and he was the only living member of his family. Determined to not leave this world without carrying out his family name, he guided a very intoxicated Lili to a back room to take advantage, and succeeded with getting her pregnant. Overcome by guilt, he confessed to Ghislan who nearly killed him on the spot were it not for Lili intervening. Barely able to let it pass, Ghislan agreed to curb his animosity while it was discussed on what to do. A few weeks later, Amore succumbed to his illness and passed away, leaving Lili and Ghislan with two choices: Keep the illegitimate children, or find a way to terminate the pregnancy.

Months later, Deisarameda and Sarameda Silverlark were born. In honor of Amore and Ghislan's more happy history together, they kept the surname and Ghislan raised them as his own. Sadly, they inherited their father's illness and were in poor health as children and even into their now adult life.

Shortly after the girls were born, Lili's parents died abruptly in a house fire. Mere days later, Rahsha disappeared with what little belongings she covered from the fire. To this day, Lili has rarely seen sight of her adopted sister and has heard rumors that she retreated to the Shroud to perhaps find clues to her true family.

The years passed without incident. Ghislan put aside his mercenary life to join the military efforts around La Noscea and even beyond. During one particular assignment he was doing freelance for the Immortal Flames, they were attacked by Garleans in which Ghislan was captured and taken away. There was never a body recovered, and Lili was wracked by grief for a number of years. Even with her children there as support, it slowly became accepted that Ghislan was likely dead and never returning. Her soulmate, the love of her life, the father of her children, was gone. There was no more to be done.

And so, life went on.

Lili ended up retaking her maiden name of Altair a few years after Ghislan passed, not feeling right baring the name of her dead husband. The day of the Calamity, Lili and her three children visited the empty grave on a little cliff over looking the sea that was dedicated to Ghislan. All four watched in complete horror as the world around them was torn to bits and land and buildings became decimated. Thankfully, their home remained intact and they suffered no severe losses. Lili focused more on her alchemical talents to help locals and those in the cities while making a little extra money for herself and her family. Within the last two years, her children grew up into beautiful, capable young adults. All three starting to go their own ways to build their new lives. It left Lili in an interesting position: After almost two decades of being married, being widowed, raising children...she now had time to focus on herself. A thrilling but frightening prospect she still has difficulty comprehending to this day.

Lili spent the first few months trying to find hobbies. Interests. Even dabbling in the company of courtesans to appease some of the loneliness seeped into her heart. Money that Ghislan left behind in his passing was enough to sustain her day-to-day life, but she still felt empty. Unfulfilled. Without her soulmate, she began to wonder if she'd eventually die of a broken heart the way some songbirds did when their mates passed. During a trip out by Moraby, Lili came across a Miqo'te man named [[Kolhi'to Embhre]] who passed along a possible business proposition at his free company, Black Sun Trading. Intrigued, Lili followed through on the matter and found employment working for the Silverstars, Matthias and Althena. It gave her a new purpose and new motivation, and during that time she met and had a brief coupling with one of her coworkers named [[Togy Brandmakt]]. While things didn't last, it opened a door for her she never thought she'd try again: Dating.

Work for Lili in Black Sun was usually fairly slow, with the occasional incident breaking up the monotony of each daily routine. But the people were interesting, and many interesting occurrences happened in the Bismarck from laughter to violence. Later, it was announced that the trading company would become an academy (Black Sun Academy), and Lili became the school receptionist. She kept an eye when she could on some of the more naive members and prospective students, including a young woman named [[Mouse Wytchwood]]. Through an old lover, Lili learned of Mouse's mysterious nature and past and vowed to keep it quiet and continue to help watching the girl from afar. Her focus became the school, as well as finding ways to relieve herself of her loneliness. She took her alchemy back up again, as well as continued her parents' legacy and proficiency in botany.

More time passed with very little incident. For a period, Lili was surrounded by an influx of interested parties who wished to start relationships with her. Only one caught her interest in the end, a miqo'te man she met through Kolhi'to named [[Darturu Torlan]]. Charmed and taken in by his good manners, wit, and appearence, he soon became a regular part of her life. And soon, a significant other. Shortly after this her youngest daughter, Sarameda, became ill. Needing constant care and attention, Lili took an extended period of time to be with her daughter and away from the world. Including away from Darturu.

Shortly after Sara finally recovered, Lili heard everyone had relocated to Ul'dah to start up a new company with Kolhi'to as head of the organization. A mercenary group called the Blacktalon Vanguard, and Darturu was his partner. Lili relocated so as to help with the group, as well as be supportive of Dart. While the relationship with Darturu didn't last and they eventually parted ways, she still met many new people and still talks to quite a few even after she left the Vanguard to start her own group, the Free Wing Society. During this time she met a young lalachild named [[Adokenai Kodomo]], a resident tot at the Quicksand that seemed to be cared after by Momodi and the adventurers that inhabited the place. So taken by him, she decided to adopt the boy as her own and the announcement was made at the opening of the Pumpkin Cafe. There, she met two people: [[Rock Shattermountain]] and [[Sarial Hawke]], both of whom took a liking to the woman and her charms. They later joined the Society, along with others that Lili knew from Blacktalon and beyond.

Also during this time, she met a man named [[C'kayah Tia]] who supplied with her alchemical regents that she was having a hard time getting a hold of. The attraction between the two was almost instant, and at the end of the night Lili decided to give him a link to her personal pearl. Not expecting to hear from him for quite some time (if ever), Lili was surprised when he got a hold of her almost immediately afterwards. It set off a chain of interactions that sent them down an unexpectedly passionate path of emotions and intimacy that Lili never seemed able to push aside. Even though at the begining she was wary, he made her feel like she could take a chance. It led her to meeting even more people, like [[Kenthy Pennyfeather]] and [[Miah Polaali]], and eventually led to her and Kayah becoming mates. While their relationship was 'open' and unconventional, she also took in a lover named [[Kaiten Skyborn]] while C'kayah took in his own interests.

The Society continued to thrive, though some of her friendships suffered as a product of her relationship with C'kayah. Her long standing friendship with [[T'shina Vashka]] and [[Tenha'a Rendha]] being the primary ones, as their dislike of C'kayah and vehemence against Lili being with him led to them leaving the Society. While this happened, Lili remained firm in her decision to spend her future with the male. Life continued to change and though Lili and C'kayah eventually parted ways, she took the developments in stride and poured herself further into work. She then had moved Ado and herself into their company house with the hopes to one day get a home of their own.

In her pursuit of helping her employees who have also become her friends, Lili has done things she's not proud of. From keeping secrets to covering up misdeeds and misconduct, it's had the effect of loosening her sense of morals and made her more receptive to doing shadier dealings. Recently during a private ritual to save [[Kaohastraal Aeseroix]] from wasting away in decay, they acquired the body of a Garlean prisoner doomed for execution. Only after the ritual was complete when they removed his mask and robes did Lili see that it was none other then her supposedly deceased husband [[Ghislan Nightwing]]. While now possessing memories of both her friend and husband, it's left Lili in a very strange position both emotionally and legally. At the same time to add to the confusion, her relationship with [[Kaiten Skyborn]] has dwindled and her connection to [[Locke Rinannis]] has strengthened.

She's usually found in Ul'dah or her company house, managing her employees or organizing relations and jobs. More often then not her time is work related save for those rare moments where she spends time quietly with her family and friends. Now that she's situated in her new life, she has been caught improving her relations with others in her company that she's spent time with or has aided.

Bartolomeo Filangieri (pronounced /Bar-toll-o-mayo/ /Fee-lan-gie-érie/) is a midlander hyur born from a noble family in the Kingdom of Jeridia, an island in the middle of the Rhotano Sea.

At a young age Bartolomeo was inducted in a knightly order dedicated in eradicating miqo'te tribes that harrassed the Jeridian locals. Informally, those in the order were known as "Coeurlslayers" due to their specialty in dealing with the local tribes.

After a civil war in his nation, the order Bartolomeo served in collapsed after the result of its Grandmaster being executed. The knights and Bartolomeo were imprisoned and considered as war criminals of the entire realm.

After heavy convincing from his surviving uncle, the new Doge of Jeridia decided to spare Bartolomeo a lifetime in an oubliette and therefore exiled him from the realm, sending him forth to Eorzea to start his life anew.

With time Bartolomeo settled in the metropolis of Ul'dah and through new contacts managed to get referred into the Sultansworn. Due to his sanctimonious nature, Bartolomeo eventually broke off with the Sultansworn and became an independant knight.

===1549 - 1567===

Bartolomeo's life began in his family's villa deep within the capital of the Kingdom of Jeridia, an island based in the Rhotano sea. He was the youngest child of Lord Francesco Filangieri and Iolanda Acquarone. His family was highly regarded and generated a high level of influence within the nobility and the crown of Jeridia. House Filangieri's wealth came from the constant exportation of fish and resources, but most of its profit came from the ever dominant slave market that was permitted in the entire island. All of the slaves caught or sold consisted of miqo'tes tribesmen or woman that were found outside of the city's walls. This fortune made Francesco Filangieri highly renowned and decorated throughout Jeridia.

Francesco determined that the heir to House Filangieri was to be Bartolomeo's older brother, Lorenzo. Thus, Lorenzo was tutored by his father to follow his path. Francesco neglected Bartolomeo, making him carve another path that was different from the rest of his family.

Noticing Bartolomeo's passion in old tales of knights and chivalry, Francesco had the Grandmaster of the Knights of Jeridia take forth Bartolomeo and mentor him. The old Grandmaster accepted and taught the boy the chivalric code, the Twelve and from there made the young Bartolomeo develop a strong zeal for his culture and beliefs.

Once reaching the age of 12, Manfredi brought Bartolomeo as his squire. With aiding the Grandmaster with various meager tasks, he was rewarded with sword fighting technique and useful advices in the arts of warfare.

===1567 - 1574===

Once Bartolomeo reached the age of 16, Manfredi finally declared that the young squire was old enough to officially become a knight and member of the order. It was then where his training came to good use but also new techniques and tricks were to be learned, as the knights specialized against repelling pirates but mostly dealt against miqo'te tribesmen that were present beyond the city walls.

The knights in the order were trained to overcome the odds against a fearsome and outnumbering fighting force of tribals that could always besiege the city. Due to their specialty in fighting against miqo'tes, the people in Jeridia informally refered these knights as "Coeurlslayers", due to the similar ears and tails that both the miqo'te and coeurl have.

Tensions finally began to grow thicker between the tribals and the kingdom of Jeridia. King Pandolfo the 'Careless' held interest to finally expand his realm by eliminating the nearby tribes. The King officially declared war after a group of Jeridian merchants were seen gruesomely murdered outside the city by a mob of tribals.

Manfredi and his knightly order were dispatched outside the city. For the entirety of his young adulthood, Bartolomeo had to soak his blade with the blood of miqo'te in order to place his efforts for the order and the war. The order had to sack camps, various tribal settlements that were present throughout the island and win overwhelming battles in the middle of a tropical forest. By the end of the whole war, the population of miqo'te had dropped almost by fifty percent.

===1574 - 1577===

A year after the war had concluded, new issues began to grow within Jeridia's court. A claim for the throne was brought forth by House Tavelli, and therefore blackmailed to place their leader, Giovanni Tavelli, into power. King Pandolfo, as rentless and careless as he was renowned for, denied the accussations. This started a war in the streets of Jeridia's capital, yet the odds seemed hopeless for Tavelli's end in the beginning.

Through schemes and conspiracies that had been planned throughout the war, House Tavelli managed to create a chain of uprisings by giving the defeated miqo'te words of hope and freedom. Other noble houses also remained in the midst of the plot for diverse reasons and formerly patriotic houses ended up joining the revolutionaries.

After a few months the tides had turned, the King's loyalists were outmatched, including the order Bartolomeo was with. Francesco and Lorenzo, Bartolomeo's father and brother, were killed by a mob of nobleman in the streets. His mother Iolanda was barricaded in her own villa and burnt alive.

Eventually the bloodshed would end with the beheadment of both Manfredi and Pandolfo. Those loyal who survived the carnage were either imprisoned, executed or spared if the price was proper. Bartolomeo was casted into an oubliette and remained trapped in there for a whole cycle.

By year 1577, Bartolomeo was brought forth to the newly reformed court of the Republic of Jeridia. The monarchy was no longer present as it was now a council that governed Jeridia. The laws had been reformed, slavery was abolished, and the head of the council was known as a Doge.

Giulio Filangieri, Bartolomeo's uncle, had managed to pay the Doge a ransom to have Bartolomeo liberated from his cell. The only drawback over than payment was to banish Bartolomeo from the realm of Jeridia and to never return...

Jancis Milburga was born as Lleuedwyn Fishcot, daughter of a middle-class merchant family. The Fishcots were known for their ability to export fish and were a successful travelling merchants. Misfortune came upon them on a trade route in the northern part of the Twelveswood; their caravan was overrun by scouting soldiers looking for monks from Ala Mhigo.

The Rest of the family murdered in the heretic hunt, the toddler Lleuedwyn was left to die in the woods. The soldiers had not been far off, refugees from Ala Mhigo as supporters of the monks escaped before persecution had been near the caravan. Coming to salvage what was left, they found Lleuedwyn and kept her as an asset to survive. Hiding out in the dawn of war, they found a secluded cavern deep in the Shroud protected by the Elements and the Woodswrath because they were caring for a child of the woods.

The highlanders were known as "Guardian" and "Shaman Milburga". Lleuedwyn was referred to strictly as "Child" and taught basics of survival, given books, and even taken into close villages with a mask and large clothing. She was mostly secluded from interacting with others and learned most of what she knew in the world from books or overhearing her two "protectors". As she grew into adolescence Shaman Milburga began to teach the child how to feel and understand the elements; partly to continue their protected place in the woods but also as a means for the girl to take care of herself later on in life.

From one of the many books Jancis picked out her own name and became more restless with the lack of interaction that she had so often read about. Over time she became more aware of her situation, the fate of her parents, and a limited recollection that she was an orphan. She became more adventurous and gathered items from her 'secret outings'. Caught on several outings, Guardian decided their time was up in the seclusion and the war had left more refugees around Gridania.

Giving her some supplies, Jancis was left out on the road with instructions to find the city and appeal to the generosity of the Conjurer's Guild. For about five years she worked for room and board while studying the art of conjuring and is now at the point to explore the world and build her future.

*<b>Maelstrom</b>: Jancis is a private in the Maelstrom, working as a medic. Her primary role is to travel around the island and assist the local settled pirates and families with ailments and other basic needs. She will typically be talked into helping out with manual labor chores.

[[Z'enath Vashyr]] nearly lost his eye in preventing a drunken scuffle between two other Wood Wailers that she was able to heal and restore in time. Continuing their correspondence, the two piece together their memories and trade shows of gratitude to one another.
:*After meeting, Jancis offers to assist Z'enath in a job he took on from a group of ruffian bandits that were laying waste to small hovels. Though she acts as little more than bait to the bandits, she catches a glimpse of the paladin's abilities and control over conjuration aether. The two rest in Quarrymill overnight as Wood Wailers handle the mess the bandits left behind. Returning to Gridania, Jancis proves she still knows how to climb a tree by... climbing a tree.
:*Called away once word that [[L'aenoh Tia]] was found abruptly, Jancis reunites with Z'enath after their hasty departure and both agree to meet up in the Mist of Limsa. The paladin honors her with a hand painted map of Eorzea.
*<b>Under the Coral Sea</b>: With most of the inner turmoil in the company settled, Jancis still strives to show goodwill and assist the others in their endeavors (outside of the brawling most of them seem fond of).

:*After following along with another one of [[Memeli Meli]] pranks, many members are sent on a while goose chase for a riddling pantry thief. While "rewarding" Jancis, Meli's kiss leaves an enchantment that makes the conjurer obsess with the lalafel and her wishes.
::*From the serious insistent urging of [[Jezune Garinthe]], Jancis shakes off the spell and is left confused as to what happened.
::*Later on, many others get entranced by Meli's trick and the company is forced to physically fight them to break the enchantment. Memeli gets grounded for her dangerous tricks.
:*Tausen's cooking. Jancis has taken up baking lately. This now seems like a pitiful venture, after L'aenoh's comment about never eating baked foods again.

As Hnaba leaves to search other leads, the other four find Hnaba at the place of the disturbance alone; a house covered in blood with an obvious place of capture with other such horrors of gore. Confronting the miqo'te, Hnaba slips down a secret passage in the floor which the other give chase on.
::*The group finally catch up to Hnaba in a defiled spire, surrounded by imp-like creatures that cry out thankfully in men's voices when slain. The fight proves difficult, knocking out Q'nagali and Guillaume from severe injuries, but eventually the remaining Coral manage to subdue the insane woman.
::*After much probing and being forced to a point to batter Hnaba with her shield, L'aenoh is found still clinging to life in a cell. Jancis' is particularly troubled by another corpse that is found in the search that was dressed up in L'aenoh's clothes but was burnt to death. The only way she could tell it was not the miqo'te was his eyepatch was on the wrong side.
::*Recovering and returning to the Padjal E-Sumi-Yan, Hnaba is handed over to the Wood Wailers and the rest of the company's wounds are treated by the conjurers. The same evening, L'aenoh is found by Staefrue wandering south back towards La Noscea. Paniced, Jancis give chase on foot to the wounded man. Unable to deny his tortured request the three travel to their house, the Still Shore, aggravating Jancis' wounds. Having to backtrack to Gridania and other locations, Jancis continues to delay her own healing and recovery.
::*Making a grave error in trying to heal L'aenoh further, Jancis resolves to find what Hnaba poisoned the man with and try it herself so she can duplicate the effects and find a potential treatment for it instead of the trial and error on someone else.

:*Attempting to get others to assist in the troubles of the highlander, Jancis contacts Oscare's family for advice, the returning message is from Oscare himself in a very warm and confident letter asking to meet up with her. Now recovering from a company ordeal, she seeks out the hunter.
*<b>You Otto Know</b>: Jancis continues to run into the artist "by chance" and ends up having strange and endearing conversations with. The man's lifestyle is confusing for the conjurer, but she does what she can to help this, overall, good-natured highlander.
:*Jancis is considering a job offer from Otto to be a part-time advisor.
:*Not finding gil to be overly valuable herself, Jancis continues to turn down the abundance of wealth Otto offers her.
::*In lieu of monetary payment, Otto has gifted her a workspace consisting of a table, chairs, and some tools. He handmade a wardrobe from walnut and other Glade-natural wood and stocked it with a dress and other garments (she uses it for more storage like a pantry as well), and a quilted bed-like fur rug. :*In connection with the Sultansworn, Otto asks for Jancis' knowledge and connections with [[Coatleque Crofte]].
:*In a very kind gesture, Jancis has accepted his help in searching for her fiance, [[Alveo Soulseeker]], who hasn't been heard from in three months. Working with Otto's right-hand, Ridley, Jancis waits to hear back on any news.
*<b>Al-well that ends well</b>: With a surprising change, Alveo has gone North to assist his mentor in an emergency call. Cleaning out their home and resigning from his position with the Coral Sea and the Maelstrom.

*Being brave and strong-headed in a rare occasion, Jancis lost her proper demeanor with Sir Filangieri which led to a complicated encounter with the two. Alveo finding out and taking it poorly, Jancis decided in order to "forgive herself" to take up a huge amount of debt to protect Alveo. Jancis was indebted to Lady Tasa.
:*Reuniting with Alveo by chance while working, he convinced her that they could "go home", but the soldier's true intentions were to goad the knight Sir Filangieri into a fight. After being humiliated in front of the others, Jancis was strained with thoughts of giving up on her beloved. The situation was more compounded by his additional apologies and a very intimate offer. Jancis' trust in Alveo has improved dramatically from the sailor's continued efforts to compromise with the stubborn knight.
*Key events including rejoining the Maelstrom, night of the Pumpkin Cafe opening, and Dhemgeim's nameday celebration have solidified Jancis' commitment to Alveo.
*In a show of loyalty and to give Alveo clarity, Jancis has entrusted him with her most precious possession: a silver charm bracelet, infant-sized, with a seashell-shaped charm bearing the engraving "L.F.".
*At Alveo's lack of concern and mix-up that he intended to take on a near suicidal job for a shady mercenary group, she struck him. Anytime this is brought up, Jancis feels very guilty.
*Alveo proposed on the 30th Sun of the 3rd Umbral Moon, after the Grindstone they traveled to the Sagoii Desert where the two had first realized how much they cared for one another. While Jancis did not grow up knowing such culture of marriage outside of fictional books, she is excited about the title and reacts to it, particularly from Alveo.

:*While mostly being forced to be a source of outsider support, Jancis continued to bring aid and deal with the awkward man with a gruff demeanor. She was there when Alveo defeated Illear, freeing himself, and found him to be much more than a cold husk.
*Taking it upon herself to understand more of the strained relationship of those in the Harbingers, Jancis came to be a specific support to the Primarch himself. Freed from his curse, Jancis was a part of the battle to save the Primarch and take down the Leviathan. In the aftermath Jancis has built up new confidence in herself, found an ally with Lady Tasa.
:*In the continued recovery of the Primarch, Jancis has a new admiration for the arcanist arts and a drive to study their techniques.
*Murder in Ul'dah: Upon hearing Sir Filangieri's distress about a potent murder in Ul'dah, Jancis has volunteered to serve as bait and assist the knight in pursuing the case. Sadly nothing came of the offer, resulting in more pain for the knight.
*A Bow and a Man: Jancis has gotten involved with a friend's contract to find a thief. Not knowing the ultimate plans, she knows the man has taken an important heirloom of Oscare's. With Alveo agreeing to assist, she has free reign to pursue the problem and help the tall hunter. After finding out the man who stole the bow is known to Oscare's family, the man was found in a hideout in the Shroud. Oscare and Alveo took on the group and recovered the heirloom, though Alveo does not remember the fight at all.
*Debt and Love: Jancis feels a need to repay Lady Tasa for her generosity and kindness. Convinced the warrior isn't actually pushing for reimbursement, she looks for other ways to be loyal and giving.
*:After Lady Tasa effectively "proposed" to Jancis, the conjurer feels that she's not obligated to help the warrior out of a gil contract and more to be kind in general. Also, Jancis encouraged her to talk to Cici about their relationship. Tasa took her up on the advice, effectively moving from romantic attraction to more platonic.
*Academy: After Professor Rurujua assisted the Harbinger's leader and offered to teach the group lessons, the conjurer has become very interested in learning more about aether in general.
*Adventures in the Coral Sea
:*In search for information on Chuchukepa's mother, Jancis agreed to go with others in the company pretending to be a trained slave girl. While failing to be one of the chosen bartered women, she did assist in distracting some of the armed guard while the slave trader was 'interrogated' for information. Moving to protect the delicate elezen Reinette, Jancis ends up slaying one of the men from the use of too much force whereas she expected to merely subdue the man. The operation was an overall success, freeing the other marketed people and giving the Maelstrom a new ship.
*<b>The Maelstrom Misunderstanding</b>: Looking to prove her worth and ease the conscious of her beloved, Jancis joined the Maelstrom as a medic. Unknown to her, this only caused her lover more worry and concern. Her current work has her going along the coastal towns assisting the locals with their ailments and concerns.
*<b>A Barto-loadmeo of Trouble</b>: Jancis keeps up a tentative relationship with the knight of late, unsure how to assist the man after hearing about his questioning loyalty with the Sultansword and departure.

Long blonde locks fall freely over the shoulders of this Hyur woman, bearing a somewhat unkempt waviness that threatens at times to become a curl. Bright blue eyes are the highlight of a warm smile framed by typically rose-red lips. She is short and slender for a Highland Hyur, but by the standards of Midlanders would be considered tall, with a curvaceous figure. Finding herself somewhere between fit and athletic, her body is finely honed for dancing, and is only secondarily adapted to the rigors of combat - especially as she is no longer a sellsword by trade.

Aya is usually seen wearing at least light makeup, and is rarely found without lip gloss and eye makeup. She loves jewelry and sports seven piercings on each ear (four upper, and three lower), usually wearing larger earrings on the lower-most piercing, and then matching studs in the remaining (frequently changed to match her outfit, and sometimes her mood). She usually wears necklaces, bracelets, and several rings, as well as navel jewelry that she prefers to have visible whenever possible.

She prefers outfits chosen for form instead of function, frequently wearing heeled shoes and boots, skirts instead of leggings, and armor that give priority to flattering her figure rather than protecting her. When she was a mercenary her commanders were at times able to get her to wear practical armor when preparing for situations where combat was expected, but it was a struggle to convince her to wear proper uniform at other times.

Aya typically wears her personality on her sleeve. She is outgoing, social, with a clear orientation toward fun and pleasure. She has a significant caring and soft-hearted streak, that sometimes conflicts with her better sense, and often speaks before she thinks(sometimes leading to unexpected shyness). She generally prefers to avoid hard work, has expensive tastes for comfort and baubles, and will almost always take the easiest route to Gil when offered. Nonetheless, she has become significantly more responsible since fleeing Ishgard and encountering the difficulties of the real world shorn from the protective layer of her family, and can usually be counted on if it really matters.

Preferring shopping, relaxing, and most especially partying to hard work, these tendencies will almost always become obvious to even the most ambivalent observer.

Born the youngest of three children into an upper class Ala Mhigan family steeped in a long warrior tradition, Aya was born into what should have been a life of relative luxury. All hope of such fortune was washed away among the flood of refugees fleeing the Kingdom ahead of the Imperial conquest. Living as refugees the family moved from city to city in a vain effort to call in old favors to find permanent settlement. After being turned away from every hope, including an extended stay near Limsa Lominsa, Aya's father finally made the decision he had been so loath to consider in the past: to call upon distant relatives who had settled as sellswords in Ishgard several generations in the past, the black sheep of the once prominent and proper family.

Unaware of their fortune to gain entrance to the city shortly before the gates were sealed to the outside world, their long lost relatives welcomed the family with the grudging acceptance of blood relatives. Unable to leave their past behind, Aya's parents adopted only the minimal necessary trappings of Ishgardian society. Refusing to abandon his pretensions her father quickly became a burden, followed by the eldest son intent upon claiming the trappings of an inheritance that had evaporated before his eyes. Loyal to a fault Aya's mother served her husband's every interest, pressing the children to accept his desires and command as they became ever less realistic. The two younger children grew closer to one another, as both proved more capable of adapting to their new social status.

The younger of Aya's brothers chose to become an apprentice weapon smith, planning to open his own shop and provide support for his parents, and if possible to repay the relatives to whom the entire family owes their survival. Aya meanwhile was drawn toward less productive, but equally rebellious endeavors. Despite their poverty, Aya's parents set her on the path to be schooled as a proper Lady befitting her station. Of the arts and manners she studied as a child, her favorite quickly became dancing. As an adolescent she embraced a social circle that skirted the edges of "acceptable" society, preferring the fun, excitement, attention, and notoriety to be found in the world of taverns, and underground clubs. Finding that she could earn gil as a dancer and entertainer Aya completely abandoned her ties to the social circles her parents still clung to in their vaingloriousness.

Facing increasing pressure from her parents, and feeling a general alienation toward the accepted culture of Ishgard, Aya made the life-changing decision to escape from the city. Once in the outside world she made her way to Gridania with a purse that rapidly grew bare. She managed to find employment at the Roost as a barmaid, where she was able to rent a room on a long-term basis. With an eye on greater prizes (and a blindness to the risks) she embraced the opportunity to find work as a sellsword with a Free Company she had come to know through work, thus Aya came to the Hungry Wolf.

Although she had mislead the Company on her experience and capability, Aya proved a quick study, albeit it a tentative combatant. Over the course of her several months long employment by the Hungry Wolf, she took part in a small number of actual combat operations, while generally avoiding dangerous assignments. Focused primarily on patrol and sentry work, she finished her time with the Company overseeing patrols that covered the Gridania to Coerthas road, stationed at Fallgourd Float. The work was mild, and she supplemented decreasing pay by entertaining at the local inn. As the company floundered financially, the remaining members were released from their employment.

Floating about without work, Aya returned to Gridania where she lived at the Roost, trying to make up her mind about what to do next, until expelled for failing to pay for her room. Desperate to find work again, and deciding it better to not further pursue her career as a mercenary, she decided to return to her previous employment, that of a barmaid. Deciding it unlikely that the Roost would turn around and offer her work so soon after the messy issue of her eviction, she opted to try a new city. Intimidated by Limsa's pirate culture, Aya opted to instead test the oppressive heat and culture of Ul'dah.

Momodi, the matron of the Quick Sand, the busiest drinking hole in the city of Ul'dah, and a hub of activity adventurous, legitimate, and illicit, saw potential in the young woman (perhaps believing that the tall blonde from the north might bring in business with her exotic looks) and quickly offered her a position as a barmaid. Along with a pittance of pay, she was provided with a small room (in the least desirable part of the building), board at discount, and the opportunity to keep any tips she would earn.

Aya's primary responsibility is tending to patrons sitting at the Quick Sand's tables, but she also sometimes assists customers at the bar itself, and can pour and mix some drinks to make things easier on Momodi. She's also been quick to help with the Quick Sand's menu, adding a variety of mixed fruit drinks (which she has come to consider something of a specialty), a variety of dishes, and nearly tripling the volume of Gridanian Mead sold with her frequent recommendation of the import.

Although she is no longer a sell sword, Aya's training and experience with the Hungry Wolf remains a crucial aspect of who she is. Regardless of her desire to avoid any violent situation, she remains rather better prepared for it than she would admit.

Aya's formal training in military skills has been as a Lancer. Accepting early lessons from the Wood Wailers, and later trained by the Hungry Wolf, she is naturally well-suited to the weapon. Physically fit and athletic she is able to utilize the leverage-advantage of the weapon to a great extent, while maintaining distance from her opponent. Although tentative to enter combat, once engaged she fights with a raw tenacity and viciousness that the Hungry Wolf seek to instill in all of their fighters. She would rather avoid danger if at all possible, but if forced she will kill or be killed. Quick and graceful she relies on rapid and precise movements en lieu of brute force, utilizing surprise and distraction to create opportunities to exploit with the goal of inflicting debilitating injuries. To utilize her impressive leg strength she makes frequent use of kicking and jumping attacks, often in conjunction with the lance to create difficult to defend sequences of strikes. Most experienced soldiers would still consider her an amateur, but one still capable of being a sometimes surprising threat in hand-to-hand combat.

She is familiar with archery, which was one of her childhood hobbies, one which she has rediscovered in the Shroud which prizes skill with the bow and arrow, and offers much to teach the interested amateur.

She has been trained in standard Hungry Wolf military tactics which included basic forestry, and long-range small-group coordination. Stealth, ambush, and surprise-attack training has formed a major portion of her education in tactics. Her recent promotion has made her technically responsible for small squad command within the Company, she has never commanded units in the field and is likely unprepared.</spoiler>

Roen is a young woman in her early 20's. She is often seen wearing armor, heavy or medium depending on the environment, and a sword and shield are never far from her side. Her auburn hair is usually tucked under her helm in battle and when she is on active duty, and her lean but toned frame shows evidence of training; she is clearly accustomed to wearing armor most of her days. One prized possession is her armor, gifted to her by a grateful client from her previous employment. She keeps it well oiled and in excellent repair, for she does not own anything else of real worth. She also carries finely forged sword crafted by her brother, and these possessions may disguise the fact that she is not a person of great wealth. But despite her humble disposition, Roen's carriage tends to indicate that she's had a wellborn upbringing.

She's mostly quiet. Roen often holds her tongue on matters she considers not important. But she is quick to come to the defense of the weak and does not hesitate to stand up to bullies, even when she is sorely outmatched or outnumbered. She is not quick to anger, but sometimes eager to commit herself to causes she believes are right. Emotions show easily upon her face, and she is a horrible liar. She tries her best not to do it often, if at all.

Roen does not speak of herself too often, and is quick to grow wary when the conversation turns to details of her past. She also does not make small talk well; she is seen as quite serious by most, and some might even accuse her of lacking any sense of humor whatsoever. The truth of her guarded demeanor is more complex, of course, but few understand that. She smiles rarely... but when she does it is always genuine. She offers her aid easily, and takes people at their word. Some may consider her polite to a fault especially when they have only recently met. Often her speech can be considered to be formal, although with a hint of a dialect that is not native to Eorzea.

Roen has an inquisitive mind and is quick to learn, and any teaching of craft, skills, or lore offered to her will rarely be refused. Despite her competence with sword and shield, she is still very green when it comes to the general knowledge of the Eorzea overall. It seems what she knows of Eorzea was learned in the last few years.

Roen prefers sword and shield above all else. Trained as a gladiator, and then as a paladin, she excels in defensive fighting, always preferring to protect others before going on the offensive. While she takes to training with fervor and her technical skills leave very little to be desired, she still lacks in experience to put them to use with full effect. She often hesitates in striking down a weaker foe, especially if they show fear or remorse. If they ask for mercy, she will often grant it, even if it may be just a ploy.

While undergoing her training with the conjurer's guild, it was noted she has great aptitude as a healer as well as a strong connection with the aether, both within and without. But Roen left their guidance after learning the rudimentary skills needed to continue her paladin training. Only recently has she returned to Steelglen Fane to revisit her training as a healer, at the urging of her former teachers.

Roen is the sole daughter of a high ranking Garlean scientist officer. Her father, Dorien nan Luraes, was a quick-rising officer in the ranks of the Garlean military, and was one of the men assigned to help overthrow the Ala Mhigan government. In the midst of all the violence brought on by the incursion, Dorien came upon an Ala Mhigan babe... and in rare a moment of mercy, brought the infant home to his barren but loving wife, Melia Luraes. For the first many years of her life, Roen's life was a good one, raised by a doting mother and a proud father whose influence easily squashed any rumors that questioned Roen's true parentage. Dorien, who was also a brilliant engineer, was soon recruited by officers under Nael van Darnus after the destruction of the Bozja Citadel. Dorien became part of the science team to resume the study and research for Project Meteor.

Like his predecessors before him, Dorien too became obsessed with this potential power to control the moons, snatching it from the sky and bringing it down upon the planet. In his obsession, he began to neglect his daughter, and his wife. When Melia discovered the true nature of her husband's research, she became horrified by its violent and destructive nature. In her distress, she was recruited by a resistance faction who sought to undermine Nael van Darnus's ambitions.

Melia began to leak secrets to the resistance in hope of undoing Project Meteor and freeing her husband from its obsessive grasp. But eventually Melia was caught; she was tried and executed, much to Dorien's shock and despair. He threw himself back into his work, and in exchange for his devotion, the Garlean government kept his wife's treachery and execution away from the public eye. Roen never knew the truth; she was told Melia died in an accident. She was seven years old.

After her mother's death, Roen was raised alone in a large wealthy home, with only cold servants and domineering teachers for company. Her father seemed to have lost all affection for her in his grief. She grew to love riding, finding solace in her solitude, imagining adventures as she took to long rides in the woods surrounding their home. She also was quite the tomboy, climbing trees and practicing swordplay with the house guards who humored her. Due to lack of a motherly figure, she never took to dresses or concerned herself with looking beautiful. She was always polite and in perfect demeanor though, for those brief moments when her father would grace their home with his presence.

When Roen turned sixteen, in an attempt to win her absent father's love, she illegally joined with Nael van Darnus' forces in the Battle of Carteneau. She was foolish and idealistic and full of patriotism, all of which were shattered when she actually witnessed the bloodshed and violence on the battlefield. Roen fled from the battle…

...only to witness the horrifying truth of Project Meteor from a far.

Roen survived the Calamity. She was later found miles away, discovered by a traveling vendor while wandering the hills, dazed, delirious, and dehydrated. The vendor was a kind man; his name was Brenden Deneith. Brenden and his family took Roen in and nourished her back to health.

She stayed with the Deneith family in Western Thalanan for the next four years. In the autumn of the fourth year, another tragedy struck when bandits set upon the Deneith family during a sojourn to a nearby market. Roen and Brenden fought them off bravely, but Brenden was gravely hurt. He would eventually succumb to his injury; Roen could only watch helplessly as one of the few selfless men she had ever known begin to fail and die.

When the bandits returned again two days later however, a Sultansworn patrolling nearby saved the rest of the family. And, taking sympathy on them, he also returned the seemingly dead Brenden Deneith back to life---much to Roen's wonder and disbelief.

It was on this day Roen saw her path laid out before her: that of a Sultansworn. She would do for others what this paladin did for her family, but she also felt that she owed a debt to Eorzea, for her father's involvement in the Calamity. She set out to travel to Ul'dah to begin her training.

Upon her arrival in Ul'dah, Roen struggled to make ends meet, to find work so that she can send what gil she makes back to her adopted family, who has now settled upon a farm in Southern Thalanan. But with the children being too young as yet, and Brenden (she catches herself referring to him as "father" on occasion) being weakened since returned from near death, Roen feels responsible for supporting the family who had saved her life. And so she gained employment as a hired blade, taking whatever jobs she can. She looks upon the Sultansworn with something akin to hero worship, looking for any chance to begin her training. One of Roen's greatest fears is that she will never be worthy of it.

Unbeknownst to Roen, her father had been pardoned after the Battle of Carteneau, for he disavowed any knowledge of Project Meteor not being sanctioned by the Emperor. He was seen as a callous murderer by some, yet the Empire still valued his engineering skills. Dorien currently believes his daughter to have died with the Fall of Dalamud, but may discover soon that his only daughter is actually alive. Roen is the only link left to his dead wife, whom he still loves beyond the realm of death... and yet he hates her for her betrayal, and would likely go to extremes to bring his wayward daughter back under his control.</spoiler>

When Roen first arrived in Ul'dah, she found employment with a company called the Gilded Mirage Consortium. She began to slowly warm up to some of them, and before long counted many of them as her friends. The wealthy owner supported her training first as a gladiator, then as a paladin. She was even allowed to travel via airship to Gridania for training at the Steelglen Fane.

Knowing that Garleans are not gifted with the ability to draw upon the aether, Roen was shocked to find that she was able to cast magic at all. This discovery was then followed by a revelation through Siha's vision that one of her ancestors had probably been a Highlander conjurer. This prompted Roen to start researching her mother's ancestry, since her father's proud Garlean ancestry was well-known.

But the investigation into her family's lineage was cut short when a man disguised as a beggar approached Roen and tried to kill her. After extensive questioning, the would-be assassin could only reveal that a masked man had hired him, using a cursed dagger to coerce him magically. The day after he was apprehended, Roen's attacker hung himself while incarcerated, and the trail has gone cold since.

Due to a string of misunderstandings, a Sultansworn named [[Natalie Mcbeef]], also started to suspect Roen of being involved with the Syndicate and interrogated her multiple times. While the misunderstanding was eventually cleared, the damage to her reputation had already been done; when her employer heard of the investigation, she was promptly dismissed from the Consortium.

This was also when Brenden Deneith, Roen's adoptive father, began to succumb to illness again. Due to being dismissed by her former employer and the rumor that she may be connected with the Syndicate, Roen could not find any employment. This was when she took on the job of a miner, despite the fact that it did not pay very well. In order to make the necessary gil to send back to her father, Roen began to neglect her training in lieu of breaking rocks all day.

Her prolonged absence unfortunately led to her dismissal from Ser Jenlyns, her free paladin trainer. But the Sultansworn who had previously investigated her took it upon herself to take Roen in as her apprentice in order that she may continue Roen's paladin training. It was through Natalie's guidance and trust in her that Roen finally passed her trials and was sworn in as one of Ul'Dah's elite protectors. Natalie and another Sultansworn named [[Kage Kiryuu]], have since come to learn of her Garlean heritage, and to her surprise, still accepted her as one of their own. Roen considers this small group of Sultansworns her family through duty and oath.

Roen has also found employment with a Free Company called Night Blades. She believes them to serve the people of Eorzea, although perhaps through unconventional means. She believes the leader, Ellion Goto, to have the right intentions at heart, even if his methods have proven to be ruthless at times.

Through recent events, Roen also discovered that a Highlander by the name of [[Gharen Wolfsong]] is her brother by blood, and that she was taken from her family when she was a baby and given to her Garlean parents who raised her. This knowledge came at the price of much suffering and pain, mostly dealt by a mysterious Garlean woman named [[Raelisanne Banurein]], who captured and tortured Gharen Wolfsong for weeks. Roen was forced to resort to kidnapping an innocent man to trade for her brother's life, also making an enemy of another Highlander named [[Delial Grimsong]], who works for Banurein. It was Delial who also had initially befriended Roen through deception, and used her to capture Gharen in the first place and kill another Resistance leader.

After rescuing Gharen from the Garleans and helping him recover, Roen discovered that she had been suspended from her duties as Sultansworn due to an investigation that was initiated by the Monetarists into a fire at the Nanawa Mines. It led two Immortal Flames to unearth evidence regarding a ceruleum core theft and what appeared to be a cover-up by her superior, Natalie. The three Sultansworns involved in the incident have all been given leave of duty, and to appease the Monetarists, their services were given over to the Brass Blades. Roen has been assigned to a unit under the command of Captain [[Anden Anduron]].

Due to Natalie being tasked to bring in Gharen to appease the Monetarists, Natalie arranged for Roen to be "kidnapped" by [[Askier Mergrey]] in order to keep her in the dark about the fate of her brother while she brought him in. Askier then asked his friend Crimson Mountain to help him, and the latter took to the task with obsessive fervor. He has turned out to be a cruel and violent captor, and Askier, growing more and more uncomfortable with Crim's torment of Roen, finally attempted an escape with the hostage in tow. It ended with Askier losing an arm, and Crimson Mountain taking both Roen and Askier on a ship and sailing for destination unknown.

In the meanwhile, Natalie convinced Gharen to surrender himself to the Monestarists for Roen's own safety and freedom. She explained that she was following the Monestarists orders because they had evidence that Roen was a Garlean. To gain amnesty for Roen, she agreed to bring Gharen in, knowing full well that he would likely be killed. He agreed to this term to save his sister, and both believed that Roen will be delivered by Askier back to Ul'Dah safe and sound.

But when Natalie realized that the kidnapping had gone horribly wrong, she and Kage recruited the help of [[Osric Melkire]] to break Gharen out, and they all eventually faced down Crimson Mountain for the two captives he had tortured for a week on the seas. Delial agreed to sail away with Crimson Mountain in exchange for Roen and Askier's return, to which Crim complied. Once alone on the boat with the Roe, Delial delivered death onto him with a blade to his neck.

Natalie, seeing Roen's condition after her rescue, forced herself to cut all ties with the hyur, dismissing her from the Blades and calling her weak. She also hid away any regret as she spoke to Roen, nearly gloating about her own ruthlessness. That final betrayal shattered what remained of Roen's strength and resolve to hold herself together, and the hyur broke down. Gharen took it upon himself to take his sister way from Ul'Dah, much to Natalie's silent relief.

===General Bio===

Kiht Jakkya is a very traditional Keeper of the Moon. She grew up in the Twelveswood with her family and Keeper group. She was trained to be a "Spearwife" and scout for her group. She learned to track, hunt, scout and fight from a childhood age. While she grew up in a Matriarchal society, she learned a lot from her father and uncles, and trained with her cousins and sisters. She knows a lot about the Black Shroud, and has a hard time with Gridanian laws and regulations as it had been a hindrance to her Keeper group's traditional ways.

After the calamity, her group felt they had to poach to survive. Because of this, Kiht was once captured by the Gridanians. However, she was released after six months because she was only a teenager, and a certain member of the Twin Adder helped arrange for her release. While she was their captive, this sympathetic (and brave) Elezen soldier decided to impart to her a great deal of knowledge on the world and the ways of the Lancers. Kiht returned to her family as a more educated huntress who helped her group establish a dialogue with the Gridanians. While the Gridanians wouldn't have been considered the group's allies, they were no longer enemies five years after the Calamity.

Since then, Kiht has seen many places in Eorzea, and has been a part of several lives.

===Appearance===

Kiht Jakkya is small, even by Miqo'te standards, but that is actually true of most of the females in her small family. Kiht usually appears serious and doesn't often show her emotions easily. The hard life that she has shared with her group in the Black Shroud has made her serious and often well-guarded. She has a teardrop tattoo on her forehead witch represents a tear of Menphina. She keeps her black hair short, and swept back. She has a small scar close to her right eye which possibly has a story of its own. If one were to look closely at Kiht's eyes, they would see a color matching the blue of a starlit night sky.

===Behavior===

Kiht is willful and somewhat stubborn in her views. She has a strong curiosity, and is an astute observer. She is fierce in battle, but often very calm otherwise which is why many who have never seen her fight do not think she can. She may even be shy around certain people. Her favored goddesses are Menphina the Lover (as per clan tradition) and Halone the Fury, goddess of battle. Some might say the personas of the two sister goddesses are expressed in Kiht. She is furiously protective of people she cares about, and yet has a sensitivity to her that might melt a grizzled Roegadyn pirate.

She speaks like an educated Eorzean, so many might not be aware of her nomadic and traditional upbringing when they first meet her. Most people don't realize that her way of speaking is practiced, and that she wasn't always so sophisticated with speech. She learned that people judge others by the way they talk, so she has learned to use that to her advantage. If a person was to ever get her drunk, she would revert to a peculiar accent that might surprise them.

Kiht displays the tendencies of a traditional Keeper in that she has trouble with male authority, and a strong respect for other females. However, she has come to look beyond those biases in some cases, so there are some males she respects a great deal, and some females she has come to dislike.

The Jakkya name is an ancient Keeper name that has been passed down since the dawn of the Keeper clans. Because the name follows the female individuals not a specific clan, the name is now widespread amongst the Keepers. In other words, there may be more Keepers with the surname Jakkya, but not all Jakkyas are part of the same group or family. The surname simply indicates a shared ancestry which could be as far back as the first use of the name.

The Jakkya family is a family reunited. Three generations in the past, the family had split because of differing philosophies. One side of the family helped form the Shriekshroom clan which -was- a nomadic group of hunter-gatherers who moved from settlement to settlement within the Twelveswood. They developed into dignified Lancers and skilled leather-workers. They are willful and dedicated, but often very prideful. This side of the family lived at peace with Gridania until the calamity struck. At that time, they were forced to be at odds with the city for the five years of disarray and recovery of the forest. They also fought in numerous conflicts with the Ixal.

The other side of the family stayed in the South Shroud, and disbursed to various poacher groups. They practiced stern traditions that they took very seriously. They fought a constant battle for territory, and their rights to hunt in the forest. This side of the family became hot-blooded archers, and keen wood-workers. They have feisty attitudes, and many still retain a “poacher's accent”. At first glance, the two sides of the family may seem quite different in their personalities, but both sides share proficiency in the physical combat arts with very few developing magic skills. Both sides are proficient crafters in their specialized craft of choice, and both sides have the same dedication to family and traditions. Only recently has the family reunited as the third family of the Morbolvine Clan.

An ex-Ishgardian Dragoon by the name of [[Yvelont Navarre]] is Kiht's valued mentor. He gave her extensive education, and training when she was forced to endure six moons of rehabilitation in Gridania. He took on the task that no one else wanted to do: train and educate a wild teenage Moon-keeper girl. He did so with patience, genuine care and perhaps some protective armor. He helped her gain her freedom, and has become like family to her. Kiht would take on Bahamut if it meant helping him.

A reserved but friendly Hyur woman by the name of [[Roen Deneith]] is one of Kiht's first friends after journeying to Thanalan. Kiht first met her at the Grindstone battles. The woman is extremely generous to Kiht, but is not prone to easily share information about herself. However, Kiht now knows a lot about Roen, and now considers her a close friend.

A suave vagabond by the name of '''Tobias ((Nightbringer))''' helped Kiht gain entrance to Gridania for a very modest fee when she still had a criminal record. She does not yet know him well enough to call him "friend", but she finds the witty Hyur to be fascinating, and is certainly in debt to him for helping her get into Gridania. She wishes to know more about him, but he is always prone to dodge questions, and use charm to divert attention. She is convinced that this is some sort of defense mechanism that guards a troubled past.

A close friend of Kiht's is a rather gruff, but friendly and traditional, Keeper of the Moon by the name of [[Kendha'to Burwani]]. Kiht and Kendha'to grew very close after spending much time with each other. However, the male lives the life of Oschon, and tends to wander the world alone. Regardless of what happens in Kiht's life, she will always have a place in her heart for that "Bone-headed male".

A traditional Moon-keeper huntress by the name of [[Rinette Molkoh]] has become like a sister to Kiht. Through all their time they've spent together, Kiht probably knows more about Rinette than she does anyone else aside from her family. Kiht would put her life in danger for Rinette without hesitation. Nothing more needs to be said.

A shy and often emotional Moon-keeper girl by the name of [[Merri Renalah]] is a friend of Kiht's that she has known for many Moons. Thanks to Kiht's efforts, Merri is now reunited with her once-lost Keeper group, and will soon be the head matron of her family. Worried about Merri's many perceived vulnerabilities, Kiht intends to watch over the girl, and help her remember what it means to be a Keeper of the Moon.

Initially a reluctant ally who has turned into someone Kiht considers a friend. [[Pyralis Targaryen]] is yet another mysterious Hyur man who Kiht has come to know. However, this one has decided to entrust her with much of his life story. He once helped Kiht find her courage; now she helps him find his. There is a great life-changing challenge ahead of him.

[[Rinh'li Nelhah]] is a kind and sensitive male Keeper of the Moon who has become Kiht's lover. She quickly got attached to him, and can't explain why she likes him so much, but she has become fiercely protective of him, and will go to great lengths to help him with his "inner demons". She is often uncertain about where Rinh'li's chosen path in life is, but she knows she will always care for him in some way.

Matriarch [[Miah Polaali]] is noteworthy because she gave Kiht's family an opportunity that no one had ever given them. She let them become a part of the Morbolvine Clan, and thanks to Miah, the Jakkya family has an opportunity to reunite. They now have a chance to live their traditional lifestyle without the Gridanians constantly watching them, or the Ixal constantly crossing their paths.
