While they were still friends, Edco hasn't shown up at her home in a while, nor has Amy really bothered to seek him, as she made new friends that she hung out with instead, while also being one of the most infulential persons in the village. Once the school year was over, Edco was confronted by a mutual friend of theirs, Xiomar, who decided to ask what's been going on lately. Edco, for some foolish reason, decided to just come clean with what his mother said years ago. Xiomar was shocked, and immediately came up with the idea that Edco should urgently tell Amy. Edco hesitated, mention that we should ruin Amy's happiness just because of something his mom said.

−	:: The next day, Edco was just minding his own business, until Xiomar can by with Amy. She seemed infuriated. Apparently, Xiomar told her that Edco was keeping something from her. Since he was cornered, he had no choice but to tell her exactly what he told Xiomar. She was livid, screaming at Edco and threatened to physically hurt him. Xiomar took her away to come her down, but Amy made sure to tell Edco that their friendship is over, and that all ties are broken. If that wasn't bad, due to Amy's influence, EVERYBODY seemed to resent him. His small, village life was practically over, save for his parents.

−	:: After a week on constant shaming, Edco finally had enough. He looked out the forest beyond the village gates, and remembered his dream of becoming an adventurer. He didn't bother to pack his things, as that would take too long; so, he just took his bow and some arrows that he crafted as part of his exams. He jumped out his window, and sprinted to the walls that surround the village. He ascended the walls, and hurdled over to the other side. As soon as he did though, he felt a twinge on his leg. As he looked down, he saw an arrow pierce through his skin. Luckily, the injury wasn't bad, and would probably wear off in a few hours.

He decided that this was the perfect time to escape, since a lot of the villagers would be in the festival area. He packed his things and headed towards the exit of the inner wall. Since he didn't really think things through much, he just planned to use his charisma to get by. Oddly enough, no guards near the inner wall. He gave a smirk and thought to himself "Damn, this is gonna be pretty easy". However, he forgot about the outer wall entirely. He then noticed two guards, one female and another male. He decided to play it cool, and to pretend he was an adventurer that came for the day and is now leaving. However, with his scar and his past childhood behavior, you would have to be a fool to not notice it was him. The male guard stopped him in his tracks and the female took him by the arm. The other guard did the same, and begun to escort him towards the village.

Noticing the male had a dagger by his side, he quickly grabbed it and stabbed him in the abdomen, resulting in him falling where he stood, not being able to do anything but bleed. As the female guard tried to get back up, Edco kicked her back down. Not wanting to make this an even bigger mess than it was, he decided to stomp on her kneecaps, crippling her so she wouldn't follow. He then quickly fled the scene, since he knew the commotion that he just created was sure to attract attention.

Reflecting back on what he just committed, he felt a hint of darkness within him, something he never felt before. After about an hour of resting and fishing for his dinner, he heard noises in the bushes. Wondering if this will be the end of his freedom, and most likely his life with the crime he just committed, he readied his bow, prepared to shoot at whatever or whoever it might be. Amy, his bard instructor, then appeared from the shadows. She mentioned that she was scouting for any signs of dangerous fiends in the area. Looking upon him, she noticed blood on both his hands and armor, and asked what happened, and what he was even doing this far from the village to begin with. He told her everything, even the darkness that he felt inside him. Amy responded by saying that the darkness was always something he had inside, but, by brutally fighting against the guards, has finally awoken it. She gave him a name of one of her colleagues, Xiomar, A elven warrior that has some experience in the dark arts.

His training was also a lot more dangerous, as he trained with live fiends rather than stationary dummies like at school. Edco really didn't have much interactions with anyone, especially females, so as his time with Amy increased, so did his affection for her.

To do this, he made sure no native citizens left the village, added an outer wall to the village defenses, as well as making both walls nearly impossible to scale, to make it more difficult to escape. Edco then needed to devise a plan in order to finally leave behind the village life he so much hates.

Many times, he wanted to run back, just to see her one more time, at the very least. He kept on going though, with the thought of this possibly being his only chance to explore the world. Due to this guilt, he gave himself a scar over his right eye, so he may never forget what he has done to the only person that really cared for him.

What he doesn't know, is that a great evil is approaching, and that he, along with others like him, are the key to stopping it.
