Edwin Cross is a wayward youth with a penchant for running away from his responsibilities. Armed with natural talent and a hefty lack of experience, Edwin seeks to distance himself from his family and carve out a suitable life for himself. Coming from Ul'dah, Edwin has a healthy respect for the power of coin and joined up with the Pathfinders shortly after running off from his family with the intention of earning some of his own. While he hasn't really thought about what he's going to do after this, Edwin never was one for critical thinking and doesn't really worry about the future. Though, considering who his father is, perhaps he should.

Edwin is never without his immature sense of humor and thoughtful comments. The only time he really stops talking is when he's sleeping or his mouth is full of (meticulously inspected) food. He's quick to flaunt his Thaumaturge skills to pretty much anyone and enjoys discussions about magic and the Aether in general, though he's not particularly knowledgeable on the latter subject. His Thaumaturge training is a big point of pride for him and essentially the only real skill he possesses beyond his ability to get into trouble.

In general, Edwin is a relatively clueless youth trying to make sense of everything while staying one step ahead of his duties and commitments. Whether or not he succeeds in this is impossible to say, though he seems to be making a real solid effort at it.

'''Demeanor:''' Edwin conducts himself in a casual fashion most of the time. Raised strictly, Edwin currently enjoys the freedom of being on his own and as such has developed some lazy habits. He particularly enjoys lounging around and chatting with his fellow Pathfinders. His demeanor visibly changes when the group go out on a job or mission and he often reverts to how he acted when living with his father in Ul'dah: reserved, cynical, cautious and above-all passive. Lacking experience in combat he often retreats to be on his own for awhile after life-or-death engagements but quickly bounces back into his carefree attitude. At worst, he can be surprisingly arrogant in regards to his magical abilities and city-state heritage.

'''Nature:''' Edwin is by most accounts a generally good person. He doesn't enjoy fighting or confrontation and would be perfectly happy if he were to never get into another fight in his life. Despite this, Edwin can be rather cynical and growing up in Ul'dah only cemented this as he witnessed the plight of the refugees and homeless first-hand while he himself lived comfortably. He values personal freedom highly and would prefer a discussion about doing something radical as opposed to actually doing something radical. Cautious by nature, Edwin nevertheless is easily swayed into action and has a flair for the dramatic to match his reckless decisions.

'''Religion:''' Edwin is a practical follower of the Twelve and has a particular interest in Nald'thal. Though he'd never say it out loud, Edwin likes to think his natural affinity for Thaumaturgy has something to do with his worship of the twin gods. While he is knowledgeable on the Twelve he doesn't go out of his way to revere them everyday. A strong believer in fate, Edwin believes everything that happens was destined to happen from the start. This can sometimes put him at odds with his own beliefs, particularly when something tragic or disturbing happens. In general, Edwin doesn't think too hard about the gods.

The pair complimented one another and managed to break out of their destitute upbringing through a combination of guile and skill. Over a series of years, the pair grew to be recognized within the city and even founded Cross Imports and Exports using coin gained from Lynette's adventuring and Harwyn's business savvy techniques. +Edwin makes friends easily and as a rule of thumb uses these relationships as much as he can. Never shying away free help, Edwin nevertheless strives to help those he deems as friends in return. +Edwin lacks experience, first and foremost. Relatively sheltered under the 'oppressive' rule of his parents, he's only now getting a taste of freedom and adulthood and as such is prone to making bad decisions daily. Edwin often takes the easy route if able and this unfortunate habit carries itself over to his Thaumaturge training. While a devoted and skilled student under the close watch of the Thaumaturgy Guild, Edwin has neglected the discipline and continues to use his powers in haphazard and unorthodox ways. Edwin is easily intimidated into most things and lacks the courage to face his own problems alone. Rather private about his own problems, Edwin has trouble describing personal feelings to other people and often tends to just keep everything bottled inwards while projecting a facade of normalcy. Edwin can also be quick to judge and a bit of a petty jerk under the right circumstances. He is often sick and suffers from a variety of illness-related symptoms including headaches. Edwin often locks himself up in whatever place he's dwelling at until these symptoms pass, not wanting people to assume he's frail or weak though it's entirely possible he is.

+In combat, Edwin uses his Thaumaturge powers in dramatic and surprisingly deadly fashion. Edwin has only been in a handful of life-or-death engagements and with the support of his comrades has come out of them relatively unscathed. He gravitates towards the use of fire but has been known to employ ice and even lightning in peculiar ways on the battlefield - using ice to create bone-crushing pillars that erupt from the ground or channeling lightning through his focus as a sort of makeshift taser. Though powerful, Edwin tends to blow most of his aether reserve at the start of a fight and doesn't really make any tactical decisions beyond keeping himself safe. He lacks any sort of martial training and doesn't even carry a dagger on himself for personal defense. His fighting style in regards to Thaumaturgy can be described as haphazard and unrestrained - making him a threat to allies and enemies alike.
