There he met Stephanivien, who seemed quite enthusiastic about his interest in the discipline of machinistry. Without a single coin to his name, he lived outside the walls of Ul'dah, surviving off of the land until he managed to obtain a job as a worker for the Miners' Guild.  Unfortunately for L'hamon, tensions between Eorzea and the Garlean Empire came to a head, and the exhibition match was postponed until the Empire was subdued from their attempts to invade and conquer their target. In a desperate bid to try and help the frontline soldiers of the Eorzean Alliance, L'hamon traveled to Limsa Lominsa in order to aid the members of the Blacksmiths' and Armorers' Guild in quickly manufacturing weapons and armor. Though he was not directly responsible for forging armaments due to his lack of experience, he helped with smelting and shipping them, learning a few techniques as he went along.
