He does not doubt his abilities, but he does acknowledge that he has much to learn. He has only vague knowledge in hand-to-hand combat, having trained briefly in Ul'dah at the Pugilists guild.
 The scars on his face were the result of a coeurl attack when he was younger, spared only by the intervention of his father. His wounds have since healed but that has not stopped him getting into trouble time and time again. His body houses all manners of different scars, some old, some new, slowly fading to time.
