Born near the sea, yet as deep as a puddle, Talan Dracht is for lack of a better term, a rube. He's an honest man who sees the world through a brilliant veil of optimism and naivety. Ignorant, or perhaps uneducated, he lacks proper understanding of many 'common' things such as analogies or exactly how to 'read', but he makes up for the lack of proper education with a blinding ray of innocent sunshine. Always smiling, always dealing out thumbs-up, the Hyur isn't afraid to give out the more honest (which tend to be compliments) opinions about the people he meets. Questioning things he doesn't understand, providing (often unnecessary) feedback on the things he do, Talan's an eager aspiring adventurer who is ready and willing to make his own little mark on the world. <dv>

♦ Appearance

Talan has a natural tan to him, perhaps granted by the lineage of his parents, and seems to maintain the same shade consistently. He sports two obvious scars, one that runs across the bridge of his nose and one that stops just short of his some-what trimmed beard. He takes care in his appearance (unless he's stuck out in the wild!) by grooming and taking regular baths, but doesn't go the extra mile by wearing perfumes or the such.

Combat

Most wouldn't know it, but Talan actually learned how to handle an axe from his father. His training, however, never extended beyond nothing more than using a few techniques on how to overpower an enemy in the face of danger. Dissatisfied with simply knowing how to claw his way out of a situation, Talan began to learn the way of a lance from a 'retired' lancer in Limsa himself. This continued on for some years, ending any official training when Talan left Limsa proper. To this day he hones the skills he knows and eagerly takes up lessons from those better than he at any opportunity given.

■Calliope Cloverbloom- Calliope was one of the very first people he met, a chance meeting with being lost at a pillar she claimed her own. The young woman was rather polite, friendly, and seemed to share in all of Talan's similar outspoken optimism. He regards her as a kind friend and a busy woman, especially with the group she associates herself with and the multitude of interesting people inside it.
