Oldaric was born and spent most of his childhood in the sovereign citystate of ishgard. living with his mother Selaine Charledore a duskwight Elezen, and father Theodric Thorne a hyur from the highlands both leatherworkers.because his mothers talents were recognised by geva all yill and the archbishop himself they was able to seek political asylum from the archbishop do to the couples forbidden love. one morning when Oldaric was just a lad of 7 or so he awoken to find out his mother had gone missing,his father Theodric telling him she was dead, a few months after unable to live in the same house decided to move the pair to limsa lominsa.there day after day Oldarics father now turned violent drunkard would forcefully teach the lad the art of leatherworking demanding apsolute perfection lest he be punished severely. a few years go by Oldaric barley a young man and his father get drafted to make leather armours for the soldiers of the eorzean alliance fighting the encroching garlean empire. after being one of the survivors of the calamity Oldaric decides to leave his father and follow his dream..to become a dragoon knight so great that the archbishop recognises his talents just like he his mother. a dream fueled by a memory from his youth when he was a babe of 6. a returning regimen of dragoon knights marched through the streets there dark armor gleaming in the sunlight. all the townsfolk lined the streets cheering as if they was watching a parade. the captain of the regimen looked into the crowd to see a small elezen lad atop his fathers shoulders with a gleam in his eye. the knight giving the boy a nod then hicks his chocobo forward...but thinking more realistically Oldaric begins training as a lancer.....and becomes a bodyguard to quall the increase in assassins and bandits alike...not to mention a bit of coin
