She had him put his talents to work, taking care of the companies animals, helping with the garden, and helping with the occasional hunt. Then there was the work he was not good at: reading, writing, basic medical care, riding mounts, understanding laws in the area, and finally aetheryte usage. Crow had never been trained in magick usage so that was one of his more daunting memories. Over time it became more than just refining him into a capable member of the team as he started to join the rest of the company on missions. | ||

Originally the main threat was thought to be the Kobold beast tribes, Mamool Ja, and bandits a long the route. Facing such numerous threats the company decided to take everyone to ensure the safety of all involved. The job started off going as expected with attacks from Kobold, some territorial efts, and other agressive beasts. As the company came into Eastern La Noscea they were greeted by an unexpected sight. The Garleans from the nearby Castrum Occiden were on the road. Approached by a detachment they met with a Decurio who questioned where such a big group, some of which showed obvious signs of combat were headed and what the cargo they had was. It was then that the merchants in the group started to get nervous. As the company watched the merchants talk to the Decurio, something seemed amiss. The Decurio struck one of the merchants and then came to the freight and opened a crate. After closing the crate and moving back to his detachment he made a signal and all hell broke loose. Crow never saw what was in the crates before a merchant lie dead and magiteck fireballs slammed into the company. Crow eventually found his way to a ragtag company named the Wandering Flames. At first he thought of it as just work but over the course of eight years he came to think of it as his family. The Flames eventually found themselves taking on a contract to guard a merchants shipment that ran through Costa del Sol. They were unaware that they would be guarding it from Garlean inspection and when push came to shove the Flames found themselves facing the Garleans at Castrum Occiden's front gate. - ₪ ::: Crow never thought much of the outside world. He was content to hunt for his tribe without caring much about the laws. As he reached his mid-teens he became aware of how the clan life seemed rather daunting. Crow had fallen for one of his fellow clanmembers. Often hunting together the feelings that developed were mutual. Like a stormcloud over the horizon Crow realized that his options for being with her were limited. Following the tribes laws to prove himself even though he had grown up doing so seemed like some sick joke, and so he decided to not take part in the clan's laws. Vying to leave the clan with his lover he agonized over his own choices but wanted more than anything to be free of rules and be free to be with her. When he had finally mustered up the courage to ask her to elope with him, her answer hit all his worst nagging fears. She could not leave the tribe, or rather she would not. The pain of being rejected, the hatred of the rules, and the cruelty of seeing her each day gave rise to wounds that would not heal. Crow decided on his next hunt to leave his tribe, cast off his name and find someplace where he could heal and find his own path.
Unfortunately surviving outside of your only known community is a lot harder than it would seem. Crow had ventured into the Black Shroud and was surviving off hunting. Over the next month he was visited by a Conjurer who asked him to stop encroaching upon "Elementals" and their like. Not really understanding what she meant he had told her to "Bugger off." It wasn't long after that Woodwailers were sent to Crow's hunting grounds with the mission of stopping him. Seeing this as an act of aggression Crow fought and ran, during the chase he managed to run into a group of Miqote and Elezen hunting in the woods. These kind folk came to his aide in halting the Woodwailers advances. After the fight Crow decided to join his rescuers back to their camp and spent the next few years with them. Crow spent this time learning from others about the world from their eyes. How harsh of a place it was, and what trails it faced. He had never really cared about what their actions had really done but realized he hadn't really become his own master. He had simply traded one leader for another. During a routine hit and run, things went awry fast. The cart they went to attack turned out to be carrying Gridanian soldiers who had grown tired of the bandits. During the confusion of the attack, Crow stopped shooting his bow after the realization had sunk in that he was going to die. So rather than fight he decided to run.
Crow eventually ended up in the Central Shroud where he threw away his mask and banked on the title "Adventurer" to let him get by. He took his first actual job as a farmhand at Bentbranch Meadows helping tend to the Chocobo stables. Although the stench oh the birds was unbearable, the birds themselves were not. He took this time to do what he previously had and listen to the locals about the world around him. When the time came for his current job to end, it did so with a recommendation to a "Honey Yard" for a new job. It was during this transition he entered Gridania for the first time. Seeing all the different races in such numbers in one spot was a lot to take in. Too much. He ended up finding the ferry to East Shroud as fast as he could and leaving to his new job. The Honey Yard was a new and enjoyable experience for Crow, he learned about the properties of the honey and nearby herbs as well as nature around the area and finally about the "Elements" he had been warned of so long ago. The job was not without it's dangers. The Honey was a target for local beasts and bandits a like. This time Crow was on the receiving end of bandit strikes and the sinking feeling he felt in his gut as to what he had been doing sank in.
Crow finished out the season with the Honey Yard and decided he wanted to try and do something better with himself. For the first time he felt in control as he took his first steps into adventuring in earnest.

Falling into the Agelyss River, Crow's last memory of the event was watching as his comrade was not as lucky as him.
After barely managing to survive the encounter and suffering through multiple injuries he awoke to find himself in Limsa Lominsa having been found by local entertainers at Hidden Falls and healed over various menders along the way. Kindness that was overlooked to say the least. After the course of a year his physical injuries had mostly healed but his mental ones had not.
Thirties-Present
- ₪::: Three years following the loss of his company, Crow harbors immense hatred for people. Having lost his loved ones, being lied to by the merchants who hired his company and being attacked by a greed filled empire. Crow finds it hard to find pity for those around him. Thinking a change of scenery would help rid him of the ache he traveled to Kugane with the remains of the companies funds and opened a shop up. This did not stop his memories from existing, his heart from hurting or his anger from fading. After meeting with an old friend and hearing words that cut into him deeper than any blade could he realized he was just running from all of his issues. This was not the Wandering Flames way, and pushing himself he set off for home looking for something he can do to make his life worth what he has endured.
