After Arah Jinjhal -- a mutual companion -- had been captured, a loss of communication between the two of them led to him threatening her with death. After he portrayed actions akin to nearly leaving her to bleed out in the desert, Hoshichou's anger turned vocally violent, and he was dismissed from her life. The departure between the two of them led to her being attacked by a mutual enemy in the Twelveswood and left her permanently blinded.
