S'demyx Tia
Note**: The Desert Scorpion Tribe and the Lion tribe are both unrecognized tribes within Eorzea, thus not noted in the alphabetically listed tribes most common within Eorzea. They are smaller groups (though not as small as Keeper tribes), and have their own ideals and beliefs. Most of which are similar to other Seeker Miqo'te tribes.

General
Basic Summary
"I can go anywhere in Eorzea and no one will know who I am, or what I've done. But I will know. I am a traitor."
S'demyx Tia is the son of L'lexral Nunh and L'khat. His father and mother were both displaced wanderers of the Lion tribe, which had been nearly wiped out from rival clans. They found a new home within the Desert Scorpion tribe in the Sagolii Desert.
After some unfortunate events involving his tribe, S'demyx was marked as a traitor. He is constantly seeking to prove himself in combat and amongst his peers as an honorable male.
Appearance
"What in the name of Azeyma are you looking at?!"
- Height: 5'8.2"
- Weight: 190 ponz
S'demyx stands amongst the tallest of all Miqo'te, sporting a lion-like tail which all of the Lion tribe had, making him and his family stand out in his new clan. His straw colored mane of hair is very thick. Again, a trait of his original tribesmen. Adorned on the center of his face is an "X" mark. Though, so perfectly formed, it must have been done on purpose. His skin is a healthy tan colour, and his eyes are a very pale yellow. His body is very fit, a little less than lithe like other Miqo'te. His brows are always furrowed in thought, and his chiseled jaw held clenched in suppressed anger.
Personality and Quirks
"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, and my axe will find itself embedded within your skull."
S'demyx generally keeps to himself. Very much so enjoying his personal space beyond that of acquaintanceship. Though quiet, he will voice his objection having to work with people he labels as 'traitors'. Being dubbed a traitor is the most vile title someone can bestow upon themselves in his opinion. S'demyx is very reliable and loyal to the people he bands with in battle. Always trying to prove his worth to others in combat and earn his keep.
When he does speak, S'demyx has a slightly deep, mature voice. Though still soft with his youth. He has a strong exotic accent and frequently hisses when trying to pronounce words with "s" sounds. Causing them to come out with more of a "ks" sound instead.
His childhood rearing has led him to have slightly racist thoughts towards all other races and especially Keepers of the Moon Miqo'te. However, he despises nothing more than Seeker Miqo'te who have given up their tribal names to take on one more contemporary. He feels them to be traitors in their own right.
He isn't too polite with others, but neither is he extremely rude. He remains neutral in most situations. S'demyx will take the role of the leader if he must, but prefers to remain quiet, fallen back in formation, until he is needed and may prove himself once more as a formidable ally.
For some season, S'demyx has a very bloodthirsty attitude when it comes to battle. He always appreciates good tactics, but is eager to spill blood as soon as possible. He becomes rather feral in this aspect.
He has a bad habit of sizing people up in a challenging manner, often baring his teeth and growling when he feels challenged from others.
- (Let it be noted that he has an irrational fear of water.)
Growing Up
Early Years
"To love is to die. Give your heart freely if you desire, I will be here laughing when it destroys your life."
L'khat died while giving birth to S'demyx a week after arriving into their new group.
Being born into the foreign tribe allowed him to grow up with other children with no descrimination. Like all able bodied tias, S'demyx was taught to be a huntsman. However, unlike the true children of the Desert Scorpion clan, he held an unparalleled ferocity and brutality in battle. The Desert Scorpion's favored poison tipped arrows, many children growing up to learn to be archers. But to S'demyx, there was nothing better than being close in armed combat , blood splattering across your face, and losing your mind in the throws of battle.
Despite his violent nature in battle, S'demyx was a carefree child. He was very close to his father, and had many friends within his village. On occasion he would be teased for the lion-like shape of his tail, causing him to become self-conscience of it as he grew older. Upon his 14th year, S'demyx was ready for the trial to achieve manhood. He was to live on his own for a month, and survive in the dry, harsh terrains of the desert. He succeeded, as was expected from the tribal leaders due to his capabilities in battle, though he was never given the official title as a man within the tribe.
His initiation into manhood was to commence within the following month. During this time, he was given free reign to do as he pleased, living his final days as a child before taking on the duties of a man.
S'demyx wandered the desert and surrounding oases at his leisure. Discovering new and wondrous creatures that lived outside of his tribe. And on the discovery of a certain oasis, his life would change.
While doing a bit of exploring within the evening, he found a lone Miqo'te. He looked more brilliant than any other he'd encountered, only seeing the Seeker Miqo'te of his tribe. This young man had blue-ish skin, dark hair, and curious face paint upon his brow. S'demyx believed he had never seen anything more beautiful. As it turned out, the other male was doing a bit of exploring himself. While stand-offish at first, they became close friends. Meeting up at their 'secret oasis' every evening when the Keeper could escape his family.
S'demyx learned much of the Keepers of the Moon then. How very different they were from his own clan. And needless to say, his curiosity turned into something more. Perhaps infatuation. Perhaps even love. Whatever it was, it would cost him dearly.
He, being the male he was, divulged many secrets with his new comrade. When the Keeper would whisper sweet nothings in his ear, he couldn't help but indulge him in everything he desired to know. He felt that he had his own mate to protect, that he was a man already.
Little did he know, that his divulgence of secrets would get him into trouble.
The Keeper, Khama'zi, told his small group that the Desert Scorpion tribe would all sleep, no one on duty, during the highest peak of the moon. Which is when the Keepers acted at their best. With stealth, they stole into the tribe, taking their most precious of artifacts and necessities. Food, water, what have you.
In the morn, when everyone found their stock and supplies missing. It was S'demyx who first realized what had happened. He returned to the oasis every eve for a week straight to confront his beloved. But Khama'zi never returned.
With heavy guilt upon him, S'demyx told the group of his unknowing betrayal. That he had fell in love with a thief and could have possibly cost them their lives.
If he had committed this crime as a man, it would be punishable by death. However, still a boy, S'demyx would be sentenced differently. He was stripped of the ability to attain manhood.
Though not forced to leave, he was branded with an X to forever mark his affiliation as a traitor to his fellow tribesmen. Most - if not all - within the tribe shunned him. He was no longer allowed to challenge for positions of Chief or Nunh. His childhood friends began to outcast him as not being a loyal Desert Scorpion, and being of bad blood. Thus granting him the name "S'demyx the Betrayer". His father seemed to shun him after that day.
Though forever loyal to his clan, the only way for him to be able to officially gain recognition as a man and not a disloyalist, to prove to his father he was honorable, was to become one of the best warriors in the outside world. He was to bring honor and glory to the Desert Scorpions. To reclaim the pride his name was stripped of.
Current Life
"I'll work for you if you promise me 20% of the treasure. And a promise that any monsters we face, I get the final blow."
S'demyx now works as a sell-sword to those who would have him at their side, working and fighting as much as he can to prove himself a capable and honorable man. He keeps people at a distance now, for fear they will treat him cruelly upon learning of his mark as a disloyal traitor. Though one would argue that he is more afraid of betraying anyone he may allow to get close to him.
He is desperately seeking approval from those around him that he isn't a failure, nor a betrayer.
S'demyx is also currently heavily involved with his faith within Azeyma. With no one else to turn to, his patron deity is all he has left. Often referencing to her and asking for her guidance in all aspects of life.
Relationships with Others
"Keep moving, Keeper Miqo'te, before I sink my teeth into your jugular."
Even if he is not the friendliest of sorts, S'demyx isn't opposed to being in large groups, for they remind him of being in a tribe. He feels better having people around whom he can protect, which is, of course, not openly admitted. It gives him the capability to prove his prowess as a fighter, and gain him the honor he seeks. He will not object to grouping with other races, but will more often than not out-right refuse to be allied with Keepers of the Moon unless he has no other choice.
After getting to know him, S'demyx may come off as socially awkward and nervous. Though truthfully, he doesn't know how to act with others outside of his tribe. He is unused to the modern ways of the world, and tries to play it off to the best of his ability when around other people. Which may make him come off a bit ignorant.
The most important people in his life are his fellow clansmen, and he doesn't tolerate any down talk on them. Immediately willing to start a fight without hesitation.
He is of a very stubborn sort. His rearing in a male dominated tribe leads him to be a bit sexist when it comes to female leaders.
Despite all of this, S'demyx tries to keep to the golden rule: "If you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all." Which is why he tends to be quiet most of the time.
