General

How does a bastard, orphan, son of a whore, and a Midlander, dropped in the middle of a forgotten spot in Dragonhead by providence impoverished, in squalor, grow up to be a hero and a scholar?

By working a lot harder, by being a self-starter - by fourteen, he began to look further for advancement, joining the Inquisition. And every day while others were being slaughtered and carted away, across the hills, he struggled and kept his guard up. Not trusting, because of his upbringing -a dog eat dog world, where the only person who's got your back is yourself. Inside, he was longing for something to be a part of, the brother was ready to beg, steal, borrow, or barter. The Inquisition gave him that chance, to serve a greater good - begging, stealing, borrowing and bartering all came in useful during his career. Then a dragon came, and devastation rained from the sky, our man saw his future burn down into nothing. He was betrayed by his own, cut out in the cold and left to grow old in the same poverty he was born.

He became a drunk, a washed-up shell of his former self. And then he met Lord Anthony de Vieri, the head of the Vieri Bank and the future of Ishgard. He cleaned our man up, took him into his employ, showed him another way to go.

For the past ten years, Michael has worked for the Vieri Bank, taking care of all manner of issues. From one fateful day, he decided that Anthony Vieri earned his loyalty. When he was down and out, no one else was trying to help him regain his feet.

Combat

General

From explosives, daggers, to bows, Michael is capable of destruction on massive scale. He's a one-man-army when needed, and when it's not, he's one of the most dangerous men in Eorzea.

• A Dagger in the Dark

A specialty in assassination is something Michael doesn't advertise, but it is one of his key skills. Given the time and the resources, he can and will eliminate any target he is assigned. From heretics to enemies of the House de Vieri, he will kill and leave no evidence behind that he was there. Subterfuge is a careful and rare skill when cultivated and it seems that Mr. Callaway has mastered it.

• N/A: Lord Anthony de Vieri: Ten years ago, Anthony saved Michael from a future of destitution and degeneration. Ever since, Michael's loyalty has been undying and everlasting.

• 12/30/16: V'lyria Azriel: The Wilds Witch and sellstaff was someone he ran into trying to recruit for the Bank. Though she declined his offer, he's been pursuing other things from the enigmatic intellectual. She's exotic and interesting enough that his attention is kept, which is quite something for the serial philanderer.
