"Is that what you believe?"

Little is known about this stranger. They never give a name, they vaguely state their job is 'a guide', and they tend to respond to questions with non-answers, especially when they pertain to who or what they are.

They have a tendency to stand around and simply stare at people for a long period of time.

Character Information

Appearance

'Chance' is an androgynous individual, and like with any other question they are asked, they are vague about whether they are a male or female. Aside from having the figure they have, very little is known about what they look like under their robes. With the exception of their black tail, 'Chance' is covered from head to toe in elegant black, gold, and sometimes white robes.

Their voice sounds different for everyone who speaks to them. To some they sound sweet, to others they sound brash and cruel. Ultimately what influences the way they sound is simply a matter of 'personal preference', or as 'Chance' puts it: "What you believe."

Those who shake their hand will hear a very faint word being spoken, as though it came from behind them. One of the three words will always be: Hear, Feel or Think.

Some have tried to forcefully remove the mask they wear, but they find it is sealed shut. Repeat attempts to try to remove any part of their attire will result in an act of self defense from 'Chance'. Typically they are very well mannered, but any attempt to see who they are will be viewed as an attack.

Abilities

Conjure Weapon

When not using their scythe/staff, Chance will conjure weapons to suit their needs. Their most common weapon choice is a rapier and focus.

Illusion Magic

Chance has powerful illusion magic, and they have the ability to fade in and out of existence (seemingly) to those around them. To onlookers, this appears as though they are turning into black flames and simply fading away. They have been known to fade in and out of existence during simple conversations, as well as during dreams.

Dream Walker

Chance has the ability to find carriers of the Echo in their dreams. Occasionally people recognize Chance after seeing the stranger in their dreams. If Chance looks at you during the dream, it usually means they will begin looking for you and trying to find ways to make you known (which can lead to bad luck, as explained in their Intended Purpose).
