Appearance

Standing six foot two, extremely tall for his race, Aether's skin is obviously tanned from hours spent in the sun but is also curiously ashen; a callback to his heritage as well as how he has forsaken the ways of his people. His hair is a wild mane of dark blue, with reddish streaks flowing through it. His torso is covered in a network of tattoos, which ignite with mystic light when he casts magic. His face is, in a word, attractive, yet carries a single hideous mar; a burn, a brand, in the shape of a butterfly, carved into his very flesh. His mischievous eyes are a burning gold, always watching your every move...

History

This particular Miqo'te had been a Thaumaturge; of that he was certain. In a fit of arrogance and folly he had attempted to steal into Haukke Manor alone, and tease out the secrets of the Voidlings who lived there such as the Ahriman. He was defeated, and kept by the inhabitants of the manor for several weeks, where he was bled and tortured until his mind snapped under the pressure. He cannot remember how he escaped, but escape he did. When he came to, he found himself back in the Thaumaturge Guild, half raving mad; he couldn't even remember his own name, and the only item on his person was a letter so stained with blood and fluids that all he could make out was a single name; Aether Landon. Taking this name as his own, he set out again, briefly entertaining a liaison with an Au Ra tribe before striking out again to find his place in the world. He is currently in a tenuous position in an organization known as The Black Garden...

Personality

Aether is a very complicated man when it comes to his personality; depending on who you are to him, he can be kind, understanding, encouraging, and even shy; on the other hand, he could be cruel, rude, vulgar, offensive, disrespectful, cold, and even violent. Part of this lies from the extreme emotional and mental stress his ordeal in Haukke Manor laid on him; part of it could do with the life before his accident. However, his kindness is most certainly inspired by his time after the accident.

Affiliations and Known Associates

• Matt Grihm - a 19 year old Lalafel who helped nurse Aether back to health after his accident. Aether has somewhat 'imprinted' on him, labeling him as his brother, although deep down he knows this is not true. He would do almost anything for him, and would readily give up his life to save him if need be.

• Naraya - an Au Ra huntress belonging to the tribe of Nuur Khuudas. Aether once tried to join a tribe of wayward Au Ra who claimed he could prove himself to them. Naraya was one of his staunchest supporters, and is the only one of them he readily opened up to about his mindbreak. He feels very strongly for her, and even though he left the tribe on bad terms in the end he still maintains contact with her.
• Kyo Kuza - an Au Ra warrior belonging to the tribe of Nuur Khuudas. Aether once tried to join his tribe, but ultimately left because of a disagreement with another member. This disagreement, ironically, stemmed from Aether's defense of Kyo in an argument, and when he was unwilling to back down to a female Au Ra who expected him to be submissive towards her.
• Kaine - an Au Ra belonging to the tribe Nuur Khuudas. Aether met him after the man molested his ears.
• Feu Izanami - the Guildmaster of his current main employer, the Black Garden...
