Biography

Akemi Himura was born in the village of Sui-no-Sato, under the Ruby Sea. Growing up in one of the noble households there, she was trained in swordsmanship since her youth. Otherwise, she was somewhat sheltered; never allowed to go too far, but usually left to her own devices in her chambers.

Given that, she spent a lot of time reading, bribing people for books from the surface where she could. Her tastes ranged from trashy romances to tales of high adventure, but most importantly, she used them to try to teach herself some conjury and thaumaturgy. Of course, occasionally she'd make her own small escapes, finding treasures on the sea floor.

Continuing her studies, both military and magical, she grew up, dreaming of adventure all the while. Once she'd entered adulthood, and pressures to find a mate and to take part in the family's affairs ramped up, dreaming stopped being enough for Akemi, and she made her journey to the surface.

Now in Eorzea, she's trying to get settled before looking for new adventures. A somewhat lost bastion of cheer, looking to experience as much of the world as she can.
