The head merchant, Palamu Lamu, dealt in meat and pelts, and the siblings' background gave them an eye for quality that made them useful enough to stay on past the first trip. While his siblings developed less violent skills -- Mikahel the art of haggling and mercantilism, and Ellie an eye for leatherwork and other trade-crafts -- Cam merely gained stronger arms, a steady hand with a spear, and scars from ill-advised bare-knuckle fights with the other guards in the caravan.
