Chakha Tumet is an au ra mercenary and dark knight who hails from the Tumet tribe in Othard. She channels her inner darkness to fuel her magic, and to enhance her strikes with otherwise mundane weapons. She travels with her constant companion, the chocobo Ajirai. While most would underestimate the bird, they would do so at their own folly. Ajirai is fiercely loyal to Chakha, and has been trained as a vicious fighter. The pair often work in concert to take down tough opponents.

Appearance & Personality

She is small even by her own race's standards. And for a martial combatant, her physique seems as though it would work against her. But Chakha uses this to her advantage, drawing people into underestimating her, before bolstering her abilities with the dark energy at her command.

Chakha prefers solitude, and when she is not working or tending to her weapons, she is often off meditating somewhere by herself. When in social settings, she does her best to remain polite. She speaks with a thick accent

Biography

She hails from the Tumet tribe. Her coming of age trial consisted of her being tied to a tree while the tribe packed up and left. She was always a survivor, and always had that tenacious inner drive. It was during her trial, though, that she first started getting in touch with her inner darkness.

Chakha found that she could channel her emotions into powerful magical effects. She wasn't the first dark knight that her tribe had ever seen, so she was quickly assigned a master and took to her training with a quiet eagerness. Her master taught her the dangers of succumbing too heavily to the darkness within. It had to be tempered, and so she learned meditation, to center herself and to keep her inner powers focused until they needed to be unleashed.

Soon, she was called before the elders. One of them had had a vision. She was to leave the tribe and locate an artifact of immense power. This artifact would help to punish the Garlean oppressors, and it would lead the Tumet tribe to greatness. The details she received of the artifact were sparse. But she was to find one with long slender ears and broken faith. This man would be the one to guide her to what she sought.

She took to wandering. Not long after she first left, she came across a group of bandits harassing and torturing a chocobo that they'd captured. Chakha drove the men away, and freed the captive chocobo. It took an immediate liking to her. She named it Ajirai, after one of her brothers who had died in a war with another tribe. The name proved fitting, as Ajirai soon demonstrated a warrior's spirit. Chakha started training him, teaching him to fight. And over the years, the pair became a force to be reckoned with.

Her travels took her to the lands of Ishgard. There, she came across an Ishgardian priest of Menphina who had been exiled from his order and needed to escape his homeland. He hired Chakha to protect him, and when she asked him, he claimed to be able to help her find the relic she was searching for. Chakha took the contract, and the pair made for the border to Mor Dhona.

Along the way, they were ambushed by Ishgardians. Chakha told Endrest to flee, and then cast a bolt of energy higher up the mountain to bring down a mound of ice. This triggered a chain reaction that led to an avalanche. Chakha and Endrest were separated -- she managed to take shelter in a network of tunnels that went deeper into the mountain. She pressed forward, and soon found her way to the other side.

She met up with Endrest again a short time after, when she was invited to join a group called the Radical Dreamers. As he still owed her for her assistance, he vowed to continue helping her to find her relic.

Developments

Endrest Graz't An exiled Ishgardian priest who supposedly has the ability to identify the Allagan relic that she's searching for. Endrest hired Chakha to help him out of Ishgard. She managed to do so, but they were separated near the border to Mor Dhona. She has since reestablished contact with him, as they are both members of the Radical Dreamers, and he is continuing to help her search for her artifact.
Glory Delmyr She met this hyperactive young miqo'te girl while helping with a simple escort mission. The girl helped their group to hold off a band of qiqirn that were attacking Highbridge, and then afterwards, proceeded to follow them to Dreamer Central. While her incessant chattering can grate on Chakha's nerves, she feels a certain level of protectiveness towards her. She understands that the girl is still young, and could use a more experienced hand to guide her.
