Giauque Lordes

In his former life, Giauque Lordes was an investigator for the Inquisition of the Holy See, seeking out heretics and hunting them down. It was dangerous, thankless work well below his station and more often than not, his achievements were stripped from him by glory-seeking Inquisitors. But that suited Giauque just fine; he never enjoyed the spotlight and would take the protection of obscurity over plate mail any day. But a former life is just that; it wouldn’t last. The trial for the murder of Dragoon Valerie Maltet ended as swiftly as it began, an oddity all its own in the See’s court of law. Proceedings for the case convened at strange hours-- often unannounced. The defense was woefully inadequate… perhaps curiously so, some thought. In the end, Giauque Lordes was judged guilty of murder, but his sentencing was redacted from public record. Many would assume the See had much more in mind than execution for the man who allegedly murdered an elite dragonslayer, but Giauque would be spirited away from his cell and left to his own in Gridania to start a new life...
Contrary to many of his peers, Giauque is relatively down-to-earth and mellow compared to many Ishgardian Elezen. Thanks to his upbringing, Giauque can play the part of ‘stuffy, high-strung nobleman’ but far prefers the casual nature of the lowborn. His former life demanded he wear many hats, and he plays several personalities convincingly well when need be. But at his core, Giauque values simplicity, comfort, and candidness. He would like others to treat him with common decency and he does the same in kind, but is too world-worn to expect it of everyone.
Giauque is on the tall side for his race and boasts the frame of a fighter, wearing scars and lean muscle in equal measure. He wears his thick, black hair long, tied back with a tie, though he is known to wear it short as well. Giauque walks with a trained light step, and tends toward dexterous, delicate actions over forceful exertions. Giauque prefers wearing lightly armored, secure clothing that allow him free movement and features little else.

Because of the public nature of Giauque's case, many Ishgardians may have heard of or might even have an opinion on Giauque's case, his sentencing, or the shady nature of the entire debacle. This is especially true if your character is involved with either the Inquisition or the Dragoons.
