- Brief Version
- Gospel was born to family of nobles by the name of Gestalt, in the city Sharlayan. This mysterious family of very few has been regarded as a group of rich and powerful sorcerers, having advanced knowledge in Arcanum,, Alchemy, Necromancy and even the Garlean trade of Magitek. The families largest financial success being in the automaton business. Being the owners of such a business has allowed the Gestalt family to be almost completely self-efficient in terms of needing to hire butlers and even workers for the families business to some degree. Gospel lived happily with his Mother and Father, Mathias and Izabella Gestalt for five years, until the recent war came to Sharalyan. Most of the cities society either fled or fought to protect their home. The Gestalt family fearing for their own safety, fled to Gridania. The family settled down into a new life while opening a new business in Ul'dah and continued on as normal.
- After a few months from settling down in their new home, Mathias personally taught Gospel about the arts of Arcanum and Thaumaturgy at the early age of Seven. The young boy had a natural affinity to both of the arts but was forced to study the crafts rigorously for Five years until he would become what most would call an adept of the skills at the age of Twelve. Mathias had other plans for his son however, wanting to uncover the power of the Primals in their strongest form, he attempted to bargain with an Ascian in hopes of uncovering their secrets and to pass on his new acquired knowledge to his son. Mathias was successful in locating and learning how to call forth an Ascian. Taking his son and a small hand of followers in secret, they called forth the Ascian but things turned for the worst when he tried to strike a deal with the creature. The cloaked monster lashed out in rage at being summoned without its consent and killed all the followers in an overly gruesome mess. Mathias managed to escape from the room but only to abandon his only child in his cowardice. Gospel being left alone with the Ascian, cowarded in fear against a wall as the frightening figure approached him. The Ascian carresed child's face with its hand in a twisted act of motherly love only to turn around and stab the child through his left eye with a boney finger. The creature then vanished, sparing the boy but leaving him forever cursed because of his fathers insolence.
- Gospel continued to live the next Six years of his life in a private phrontistery. His father during these years isolated himself from his son, unable to forgive himself or even face his own child. Gospel's only source of comfort during these years was his mother, who would continue to teach and afford private tutors to help educate the boy in other magick fields. During most of her visits, Gospel's mother taught him about the art of dollmaking which was a favorite past time of hers. This hobby would eventually become the boys most cherished talent as Izabella continued to teach him different constructing techniques, all while helping to push along his studies in various magick arts until he was able to be released from the phrontisteries care.
- Instead of choosing to return home, Gospel made it clear to Izabella that he refused to be associated with his father who was still too much of a coward to confront him. Receiving her blessing and having her financial support, Gospel set out towards Ul'dah where he purchased a manor, and continued to fulfill his studies and hobbies in relative peace.
- Dalamund Events
- During the hour of reckoning, Gospel made his way to the Carteneau Flats along with two others. His assistant, Victorica Amaranthus and a close friend named Remilia Levana. Gospel’s original intent was to go to the Carteneau Flats to witness the ritual of the Twelve and bare sight to their summoning. Not soon after their arrival, the Eorzean Alliance and Empire's VIIth Legion had begun to clash and the casualties began to quickly stack. Gospel became separated from Victorica and Remilia amongst the chaos after a Magitek cannon was fired upon their location.
- Lost from his only close friends, he searched blindly for them only to be quickly swept up into the fight along with everyone else. With no choice but to fight for his life, Gospel retaliated accordingly with power magicks but during his assault, his right arm was sniped by an Imperials stray bullet. The wound greatly enfeebled Gospel by leaving his right arm unresponsive and causing severe pain. Despite his suffering though, he managed to push through with determined thoughts to find the ones he was separated from.
- Eventually a large spire detached from Dalamud and with a powerful seismic shock, caused a sudden halt to the fighting. Being thrown through the air, Gospel was rag dolled across the field along with many others from the sheer force the spires impact. Too weak to continue fighting any longer, he could only lay there and watch as Dalamud broke apart and gave birth to elder primal Bahamut. Enraged after aeons of duress, Bahamut unleashed its wrath upon the realm, spewing forth endless fire and destruction. Still on the ground and gripping his wounded arm, Gospel watched on with mixed feelings of both fear and awe as the creature continued its attack. Eventually a man by the name of Louisoix quickly intervened and conjured a barrier to protect Gospel along with whatever else remained of the Eorzean Alliance, and then began the arcane rite that channeled the power of the Twelve to reseal Bahamut. The sheer force of the primal, however, was too strong for even the Archon, and his efforts ultimately failed.
- Feeling that the end was finally near, Gospel closed his eyes and sighed softly, ready to accept his fate. However, as he sighed, a strange light engulfed him. looking around himself in confusion he was warped away into an aetherial rift, where he and many others were to remain untouched by the passing of the seasons until it was once again safe to emerge...
