Basic Information

Jhalandhar is nearly 2 fulm, 87 ponze. She has short white hair that is often dyed at the ends, and tan skin to contrast. She is blind, and has heterochromia that she is likely unaware of. The gold ring sitting in her chest is where she focuses her aether for two. To the trained eye, it would look like she was more attuned to ice, while the core of the ring is simply blazing and melting what makes her...her. Jalander is a heavy drinker, and has only recently ran out of the proper herbs for clarity or 'sight-on-the-fly'. Mostly, she is agitated with her situation and not willing to ask for help, or any sort of council on what she may do to remedy her case.

History

Jhalandhar was born to a Mhachi-descended magus toiling in the desert "for coin and country" and a barwitch from La Noscea. Fallman and Tellas. While Fallman was quite adept in his field of expertise, he sought help from a woman making objects levitate, or reshaping them for paltry amounts of gil. What he learned from Tellas led him into a grand design that could be used to construct a site for him and his familys training. In time, they fell for each other, and decided to have children. Jalander was the last child of 5 in the Allman bloodline.

All of her brothers perished in the construct, their bodies washed ashore in Garlemald after multiple collapses of the space her father used. Tellas, however, didn't want Jhalandhar to share the same fate, and offered her to the Ossuary the moment she showed any sort of magical capabilities. At this time she was locked within the walls of Ul'dah, never knowing the outside unless there were special instructions from the Thaumaturgy guild itself to let her out. Almost all of the time, they kept her blindfolded on these excursions and never went further than just outside the walls.

As she grew, her daily training became more intense. It went beyond simple fire and ice spells and landed in the realms of fantasy, at least for her. Three times a Year, for an entire moon she would be locked inside a deprivation chamber and ordered to 'see' beyond her measures. The training on its own would prove useful later, but it altered her psyche growing up. Jalander realized she had little control over what she could do within the walls of Ul'dah, and more so the place would make her sick if she tried anything that went against the agreements made with Tellas and the Ossuary mages.

When Dalamud began its descent, there were no freedoms. She was 21 when fiends encroached on Ul'dah, yet she was ordered to pray at the Ossuary instead. Days went by where she had no sleep, and the only thing driving her spirit was perhaps she would live and celebrate with the new brothers she had made. A horned male came by to inquire about her family for just a moment, long enough for him to be frustrated that she was not the one he sought. She wouldn't see another person like that for years.

After Dalamud's falling and the chaos that came about with it, Jhalandhar remained in Ul'dah until meeting a Xaela that just wanted to live his life. To her, it seemed normal at first, but as they became close, she realized that he would never be remembered or even live long enough to ensure it. They struck off together in Coerthas, disobeying the Flames and making kind to enemies that could see them right. In the midst of this the Xaela had enlisted a Voidsent to carry out his more intricate wishes.

Once they were captured and led into the Spirithold to be imprisoned before being used as sacrifices, Jhalandhar and the giant Xaela shared one intimate moment before they were separated. He was to be taken back and thrown amongst the clan that sent him to the slaughter, and she would be used to summon a more powerful Voidsent. None of this went well enough for their captors, as per the Xaela's interests. They fled to Coerthas again, and then to Dravania, where Jhalandhar fell ill just moons after. Bearing the fights with child took a toll on her body, and she lost her son and any means to have another. It crippled her. The man she fought with took her up in his arms and made a promise to her. They would have that son, and he would be as powerful as she needed him to be. She liked the idea, but could not keep waiting on that possibility. Meanwhile, she was handed a shoddy tome, poorly put together, of medical records. In it she found her brothers names two- almost three-fold, with Fallman being the only survivor. When asked where the tome originated, her only response was a man no one had heard of.

This man no one had heard of would find a way to infiltrate her very being, writhe and scramble in her body. Sure, it wouldn't last too long, but it was long enough for her to have been driven into madness about it. Even now, she still has issues with touching people for more than a few reasons. When she was asked to liberate Ala Mhigo, she jumped on the chance to get the hell out of Ul'dah. While it may have been harrowing, it still gave her hope that things could be set correct. Doma became a topic of discussion afterward, and she had no problem dealing with that on behalf of a mission. It was only on her return, when she would have been eliminated, that something got through. She would wake in Ul'dah, in the Hourglass, with almost no recollection of anything that happened. So what? Had hundreds of dead men seen the capabilities of a full-on mage, or did she just forget getting herself home? She still doesn't know and hardly questions it anymore.

Since then, she's tried to avoid Ul'dah if she can, and seeks shelter in the East. Before leaving Eorzea for good, she was still interested in a Company that let her in, so she still has time and ties in the Beds to be nice to people.
