'Khaidu, The Dark Iron' (pronounced /ˈKai-Dooˈ/) (5th Sun of the 1st Astral Moon) is a Xaela swordsman hailing from the steppes of Othard. Plagued by the loss of family and tribe, Khaidu's travels soon brought him to the lands of Eorzea. Having witnessed violence and cruelty the world over has caused Khaidu to possess a cynical world view. Despite this loss of faith he retained a strong sense of justice, eventually causing him to travel down the Dark Knight's path. A powerful dark arts user, Khaidu would go on to adopt the moniker 'Dark Iron,' taking on contracts to bring justice down upon those that laws could or would not touch within Gridania's borders. In the wake of such blood shed, the line between protector and butcher had been irrevocably blurred. He would eventually cross paths with the Ishgardian,Elaine Siniere. Helping her escape a horrible plight,the two soon developed feelings for one another and now travel together. His love for Elaine and that of his student, Alexis have greatly diminished the malefic nature in Khaidu's heart, giving him cause to try live a better life for the first time since leaving Othard.

Though he is loathe to express these feelings before others, he loves her greatly. ● Alexis Siniere : Like him,Alexis has known terrible loss in her life. After taking her in, Khaidu took her on as his student, believing her a worthy successor. He cares greatly for the girl, seeing in her the child he lost all those years ago. ● Qara Hotgo : A fellow survivor of the Hotgo Massacre. As a fellow student of the dark arts, the two share a different sort of kinship now. Many of the values and teachings his master hoped to instill in him, he now sees in her. Qara is one of the few people he feels he can trust. ● Zanzan Yanzan : Qaratai's betrothed. As a Lalafell,Khaidu was initially dismissive of the mage,seeing him as a poor choice of mate. Despite this,he has come to see the goodness he holds in his heart.He is hopeful that the both of them will find their way through these uncertain times together.
