A young Miqo'te orphan with a kind heart, Leih's life seems to be connected to many dark events and individuals. Raised in Ul'dah by Athrune Rhun (real named Atheloux Drellier) a former Dragoon, she decided to follow in her foster brother's steps and become one herself, though with a twist: She desires to befriend and work along dragons rather than slay them. Due bullying in childhood and slavery after the death of her foster brother, Leih sports many scars, physical and emotionally both. This makes her very doubtful of her skills, her values and even her actions.
Leih also is known to become attached to people and see them as family rather fast, the most prominent being three men she sees as father figures: Heidrek Warsong, Stein Vespyn and Vysin Lokem. Most others are often 'brothers' or 'sisters', an accidental nod to the tribe her biological father was from. She has little knowledge of this fact and simply acts as its simple nature. Currently living in an academy named the Gilded Rose, Leih is often than not found training or driving the instructors insane with her slightly troublesome nature. If not there, she is with the Red Crows, with her two 'brothers' Ilan and Ruen, and her 'sister' Elynni Crow. She has about forty-eight pets, mostly dangerous animals, though her mostly permanent companions are a hoarhound pup named Zwei, given to her by Heidrek and a dragonet she has named 'Kiss' after the only word the small creature seems to know. Leih is short and petite, with a boyish frame. Even for a Miqo'te, she is shorter than average due malnutrition during her early teens. Leih has extremely pale skin, riddled with dark burn scars and marks from the chains she was held by as a slave on her neck, wrists and ankles. For some reason, despite living in the desert, she has never truly tanned much, nor does she get sunburned.
She has short white hair, a lock covering her right eye. The tips are blue, something she does constantly as one of the last moments she spent with her brother was when her hair got accidentally dyed with his armor dye. She normally dresses in whatever she can find, most commonly clothes that belong to people close to her. She's especially fond of a black shirt she took from Ruen Nocs and due her constant interactions with Aerin Frostheart, she has become accustomed to wearing black clothes. The one thing that never changes is a blue flower always decorating her hair. If she wears any kind of hat or helmet, she makes sure the flower is safe.Aspects That Stand Out:
Leih is for the most part a happy go-lucky girl. She always seems to be in a good mood and have energy. For the most part, she tries to get along with most, if not all, people and does not seem to have much of hate in her. This facade is more of a shield to hide her actual feelings, lack of confidence, and low self-esteem. The more happy she seems, the most likely she is scared or nervous about something. Out of being bullied for most of her life, even a small act of kindness tends to cause a great impression on her.
In reality, Leih is actually most of the time scared and has little confidence in her skills. The trauma of the Calamity, followed by her exploitation as a slave left many scars in her mind. Though most have healed, the deeper ones still cause her to panic. The main one of these is her reactions to death, even the death of an enemy. Despite her desire to become a dragoon, she has difficulty accepting the death of others, regardless of them being friends or foes. She tends to plea for their lives and freezes in panic if a person is killed in front of her. Leih also has a much darker side that only comes out when her fears take over. She becomes almost numb of the situation around her and attacks without any control. The few times this has happened she has killed multiple people, though she has little to no knowledge of the events. Leih also has a temper, which often leads her to speak without thinking. Most of the time in this situation, her words are hollow. A common one if her saying she 'hates' someone. In truth, the Miqo'te has no proper concept of hate. It's an emotion she simply never developed.
