G E N E R A L

Liadan Summerfield is a Hearer who serves in the Stillglade Fane. Born and raised in an isolated region of the East Shroud, her ability to Hear was discovered at a late age after an Imperial attack on her home village brought forth a violent Greenwrath in retaliation...one only she survived.

Though she was raised by a family even more xenophobic and isolationist than most Gridanians, she has made great strides in abandoning the prejudices she was taught from childhood to take on a more open-minded viewpoint. In this, her beliefs have diverged to a notably different mindset from the typical Gridanian Hearer.

Since the events of Crimes Against Nature, Liadan has traveled and explored the world around her, embarking on a pilgrimage that has taken her as far as Hingashi. Her ultimate goal is known only to herself, but when asked, she has said that her purpose is to bring 'the hope of all mankind' to a world that languishes in fear and conflict.

Appearance and Other Attributes

Liadan is a Midlander of below-average height, standing at a mere 5 fulms, 2 ilms at best in her boots. Her combination of pale skin, rich, dark red hair, and intensely green eyes is often called striking. She is known to have a calm, even-tempered demeanor, even under pressure.

Though she did not receive an education until she entered the Stillglade Fane for training, Liadan speaks with a proper Gridanian accent, and is quite literate. Few, if any, have heard her slip into the low drawl from her village days.

She wears a variety of clothing, but whatever she wears is generally made for practical purposes. She is not one to show a surplus of skin, nor does she favor overly-intricate decorations.

Behavior

Liadan is almost insufferably polite, tending to hide her true feelings behind careful platitudes designed to avoid offense. Her smiles tend to be small, and carefully given, her true feelings kept to herself more often than not. But if you get the opportunity to know her better, it soon becomes clear that she is a woman of passionate conviction and deep feelings. When she loves, she loves with her whole heart. Her anger, when sparked, is akin to an inferno. There are passing few things that she hates, but what she does hate, she hates fully.

Romantic Interest  Platonic Love  Positive  Neutral  Negative  Deceased  ? Uncertain
F A M I L Y
Tengri Geneq ( ) - The Unlikely Ally
It began as an almost random encounter in the North Shroud, facing the wrath of Elementals driven to madness, and continued through the ruins of Amdapor. Somehow, some way, someone who should have scared Liadan to her bones - a male Xaela, of all things - became her closest ally, the strong shield defending her against those ranged against her. And even though she later learned his true nature, she has not turned against him and continues to count him as an ally and close friend.
Sarangerel Geneq ( ) - Tengri's Peace
Though she knows less of the Xaela woman than she does of that woman's husband, Tengri, there has never been aught but kindness and respect between the Xaela and the Hyur Hearer. Because of Sarangerel's connection to Tengri, Liadan counts her as a close friend and ally - someone she would do almost anything to help.
Zanzan Yanzan ( ) - The Limsan With a Heart of Gold
It began in an underground cave deep in the Shroud, helping two victims of an unspeakable crime, and over the years has grown into a mutual respect and affection. Liadan counts Zanzan as one of the wisest people she has ever met, for all that he is no native to the Shroud. There is little she would not do to help him.
Qara Hotgo ( ) - The True Friend
Sometimes you seek people out, and sometimes they simply decide to adopt you, as it were. In Liadan's recollection, this is basically how she and Qara became friends - because Qara was quite determined to gain that friendship. Whether or not that is entirely accurate, that is how she remembers it. Qara has been her ally through at least two battles, and she counts the Xaela woman as one of her dearest companions.
O-Rehn Fahn ( ) - The Teacher
When sorrow and laughter come together, when the mistakes of the past give way to redemption, there you find your truest friends, your wisest companions. Without intending to, O-Rehn Fahn opened Liadan's eyes to truths she had refused to see before. Because of their meeting - which seemed to have been in happenstance at the time - her entire worldview was changed. She is a better person for it.
Ursuline & Guerrique ( ) - When She Could No Longer Turn Away
When Liadan first encountered Ursuline and Guerrique, the latter was a paranoid mass of nerves, and the former...the former had an Ahriman growing out of her face. It was the single most awful thing Liadan had ever seen, and it broke something inside of her, ripping apart her conditioned notions about what makes a person "human." It would not be inaccurate to say that Liadan looked into Ursuline's face and was never the same. Though the couple was later restored through Liadan's help, to this day, should they ever request her assistance, she will drop everything to help them.

F R I E N D S
Marius Aventine ( ) - The Unexpected Imperial
When they met, she thought he was a servant, and she offered her help as she might to anyone - for there was no fear to temper her actions. She would not discover his true identity until he placed himself between her and an assassin's bullet. That singular action made her question everything she thought she knew about Garlemald and those who serve its empire. In return, she entrusted him with her greatest secret, though she still does not know if he understood what she gave him.
Orrin Halgren ( ) - The Temple Knight
The womanizing dragoon from Ishgard. Liadan can't decide whether to punch him or laugh with him most of the time. She trusts him no further than she can throw him, having a strong feeling that he would leave her heart in tatters if she dared. He is, in her words, safe to look at, but not to touch.
Tiergan Vashir ( ) - The Wounded Protector
He has the most wounded eyes Liadan has ever seen, and a heart larger than the seas themselves. She would give almost anything to be able to help him, but he is ever determined to walk alone. Still, she will never stop trying.
Chakha Hotgo ( ) - The Lost Child
Qara's younger sister is something of a mystery to Liadan. Socially awkward and prone to violence, there is nevertheless something intrinsically childlike to the young Xaela woman, something that makes Liadan want to protect whatever innocence yet remains within her.

A S S O C I A T E S
Aya Foxheart ( ) - The Lovely Ala Mhigan
Poor Aya's first meeting with Liadan didn't go exactly as planned - really, who plans for a Greenwrath? Thankfully, the woman will still speak to her, and even politely!
Nihka Mioni ( ) - The Quiet Alchemist
The Miqo'te Alchemist who sings her words, Nihka is a bit of a conundrum for Liadan, and yet, her gentle nature inspires trust in the Hyur woman.
R'Shesha Otharn ( ) - The Huntress
TEXT GOES HERE
Anstarra Silverain ( ) - The Hothead
They have been both allies and foes at points, and Liadan feels that Anstarra is far too quick to resort to violence. Yet, she cannot shake the feeling that there is more to the Miqo'te warrior woman than meets the eye.
Franz Renatus ( ) - The Lost One
A chance meeting in the North Shroud in the midst of a Greenwrath, a single conversation. She's never seen him again, but thinks of him from time to time, wondering if he ever found the peace he so deeply desired.
Maric Thornharte ( ) - The Annoying Flirt
He irritates and annoys her, bullies and, at times, manhandles her. Liadan usually can't decide whether to laugh at him, or punch him. Of course, the latter would probably end with her breaking her own hand, but still...it might be worth it...
S'imba Tia ( ) - The Walking Disaster
The rule of thumb with S'imba is that you never - never, ever - go with any idea he has. His ideas are terrible and will lead to all hell breaking loose, as Liadan has learned the hard way.
Braxis Wynterwulf ( ) - The Stoic Warrior

A N T A G O N I S T S
Reppu Hijiri ( ) - The Liar
Uneasy respect gave way to deep enmity when the strange woman kept a magical artifact belonging to - and needed by - the Shroud.
Leanne Delphium ( ) - The Traitor
To this day, Liadan can't quite decide what she thinks of Leanne. Initially careful allies, a measure of trust had built between them...right up until Leanne asked Liadan to work with Imperial soldiers. Nevermind that they later defected, the request for Liadan to - in her mind - abandon her oaths and duties was not received well. That particular wound still burns hot with anger.

Heart's Grace a staff given to her by O-Rehn Fahn. It appears as though someone uprooted a small tree sapling of the palest white, with a full root ball at the bottom, and bare 'branches' crowning the shaft. Along the shaft itself are engraved Padjali symbols that sometimes glow.

◢ Player Character Rumors - Feel free to add rumors of your own!

"The Lady Conjurer has her moments. I have seen her reach deep and bring forth miracles... and yet what is most miraculous is that she can bring herself to lower the walls of suspicion and fear to impart her wisdom to... kindred spirits.Tengri Geneq

"There's something about that Hearer. She acts with her heart, and I wouldn't suggest anyone try to stand in her way.Aya Foxheart

"When I first came to Eorzea, its forest tried to kill me. I hear people talk about the Gridanians. Um... Tree-huggers, cultists, bigots... Lots of rumors about them from people in Limsa and Ul'dah. But Liadan stepped onto my ship, and helped me save a little island from Garleans far from her home. She's a good woman."Qara Hotgo

"She is a unique woman. Patient, kind... but also opinionated. I am happy to have accidentally collided into her and soaked her to the bone. Hopefully our future meetings would be less... dramatic."Marius Aventine
