Tayn Zolin (♥) "I try to picture me without you but I can't."
Tayn is by far the most interesting person to ever walk into Lyse's life, and he managed to root out and bring to the surface all the fun parts of her she let slide for so long out of fear of losing control. Never has someone been so confusing and so enticing and manage to wriggle their way into her heart as Tayn has done, people speak of having 'rocks', but Tayn's more than that to Lyse, he's the whole goddamned mountain and she'll fight tooth and nail for him. Khyros Oroban (♥) "I love the way that your heart breaks, with every injustice and deadly fate."
As one of the first people that Lyse ever opened up to after the fall, Lyse's attachment to Khyros is solidified in a need to protect him and make sure he takes care of himself; part of her heart will always belong to him and she is forever indebted and willing to go the extra mile for him at all costs. Lily Dawnsworn (♥) "I'm perfectly able to hold my own hand."
Though they are not one would consider the type of girlfriends to run around and speak of boys at length, they are well aware of how the other will react to almost any situation and are stalwart friends, whether they choose to show it or not; Lyse will easily rise to Lily's own formidable skill in battle and stand beside her through it all.
Trisselle Ganathain (♥) "Caress me with pain"
Trepidation met Trisselle (and in that, mirrored back at her from Triselle) when they first met, and yet over the course of their time together Lyse has taken to the Duskwight much more easily than she would have anticipated at the start. Lyse is protective, but still playful, with Triss and the leggy woman has learned to respond somewhat in kind when Lyse does not go overboard; she's family.
Aurelia Aerowind (♥) "The whole wide world's a stage of complete chaos"
If ever there was a person to be the song to Lyse's back-beat, it would be Aurelia. Spunky and tenacious, they share qualities while Aurelia maintains a sort of effervescence that Lyse can never hope to accomplish; often hiding a deep sadness, Aurelia's perky, take no prisoner attitude makes Lyse extremely happy and protective of the girl who has more or less become like her little sister.
Lecede Aerowind (♥) "I will fall and rise above"
Time changed Lecede in a way that Lyse hadn't anticipated, and through the year since they met he's evolved into something stoic and guarded, and yet still she seeks to help him. A consummate protector, Lecede has risen from a young man with little direction to following in the footsteps of 'the best' in taking a charge and keeping them safe. As much as Aurelia is her little sister, Lecede is her brother and she'll stop at nothing to see them both safe.
Aerius Destroven (●) "There wasn't a wrong or a right he could choose."
Aerius and Lyse have never quite seen eye to eye, and this leaves their relationship, as a whole, fractured and a bit distant. She cares for him a great deal and makes great strides to keep in contact, but things have gotten harder in that regard of late; they're still on good terms.
Garrett Sancsaron (●) "It's so loud inside my head with words that I should've said."
Lyse has bled too much for Garrett and risked too much for his safety to ever think of him as anything other than necessary to her own life; they have been friends for a long while, and Lyse, though often severely frustrated with his use of magic in such frivolous ways, would risk her life for the wandering mage; recent events have seen a split in their attention and affections and Lyse is highly on the fence about where they even stand.
Alothia Starkwood (♥) "My life it seems is a world of dreams."
Easily one of the most considerate people Lyse has ever met, Alothia goes out of her way to make people feel comfortable and at home, sort of adopting herself into the role of the doting mother even when she herself could use the doting. A kind heart and a quick wit help count her among one of Lyse's new favourite people.
Khale Embrise (●) "When the lights go out."
Khale is a stalwart man, even if he -- much like Tayn -- understands that everything is not always as serious as it seems to be. Knowing when to buckle down and get serious and equally understanding the love of letting loose, Khale has found a way into Lyse's list of friends with ease.

Music is important to me, so while I have a playlist for Lyse called "scarred", I also have a deep need to explore at least a few of these songs and their reasoning for being a part of who she is.
"Made of Scars" by Stone Sour defines Lyse to a T. She is a mass of scars, each with its own story and its own unique marking, and yet none of them have ever seen her fall; she wears her scars as a badge of honour.
"The Phoenix" by Fall Out Boy is somewhat indicative of her entire personality; fiery and full of fight, she epitomises the idea of a Phoenix (at least in my mind).
"Battle Born" by Five Finger Death Punch is fitting for Lyse's tenacity; she is stalwart and though she falls apart, she's born of battle and will continue to fight regardless of the cards stacked against her.
◢ IC Notes
- ■Lyse is a survivor of the Battle of Carteneau, having gone in at the ripe young age of nineteen and having suffered massive losses, some of which were her own fault. She is not well known for the battle, however, but you can feel free to know her from there within reason.
- ■Lyse's berserk mode has led to actual blackouts and murders on her part; it hasn't happened in a long time.
- ■Lyse was engaged to a man who died at Carteneau, but long before Dalamud.
- ■Lyse's mother is a big part of the Ala Mhigan Resistance; she does not often tie herself to this and Crofte is a taken name once she moved on to start her own life so it's very hard to tie the two together.
◢ OOC Notes
- ■Some of themes are extremely cliche and Sue'ish, and as much as I care about being true to a genuine story, I feel this is what works for this character in this universe.
- ■Lyse was my first character on XIV and has been through a few revisions, and to be honest her stat priority is messed all kinds of ways and I plan to kind of roll her into something more comparable with time, but it takes a lot of swiss-cheese overlooking to do that.
- ■Lyse is always looking for contact, and it's recently been revealed that she has a number of half-brothers and half-sisters (some very young, and some older from her father's... uh, exploits during battle) if you'd like to play one, contact me and we can work it out.
- ■When I first created Lyse I didn't realise Balmung was closed to new characters and zoned out as I logged in to the wrong server; she was leveled as a Gladiator until level 15 and when my friend asked where I was and we realised I was on the wrong server. ... :)
