NPC

Baidar & Borte Haragin β™₯ ( NPC ) - Parents
Baidar and Borte Haragin are proud elders of the Haragin tribes, known for their many adventures around once untraveled parts of Hydaelyn. The pair long tried to conceive a child of their own, but were never able to. In a wrecked ship off the shores of the Ruby Sea, they discovered baby Munokhoi and believed their prayers to Azim had finally been answered. Believing the child to be befallen by a curse that killed his blood family, they named him 'vicious dog' to keep bad spirits from following him to his new home on the outskirt shores of the Steppe. While Munokhoi was a hyur, his parents treated him as he were of their own blood. Though it is rare for Munokhoi to see them these days, he carries fond memories of them wherever his journeys take him.
Utamaru β™₯ ( NPC ) - Chocobo Companion
Utamaru is a green feathered chocobo issued to Munokhoi in thanks for his services to Ul'dah in Frontline skirmishes. Utamaru is a loyal friend and talented steed with natural curative abilities and a talent for reading aether currents to fly. It's rare to see Munokhoi without Utamaru when travelling long distances that can't be easily traversed by aetheryte.
Novv ♦ ( NPC ) - Ally
In his travels around La Noscea, Munokhoi encountered Novv's Nursery and became fast friends with the peace-seeking Sahagin tribe. Over the course of a few months, Munokhoi helped them in a series of random tasks meant to create better relations with the local Limsa population. For his trouble, they gifted him with water enchantments and glamours for his weapons.

PC

Koinos Dazkar ♦ ( PC ) - Magic Tutor
Born to Western members of the Dazkar tribe, Koinos lived most of his life in Gridania as a member of the Twin Adders Grand Company, studying in various magic arts. Koinos eventually left home after his parents pressured him with an arranged marriage. He instead became an exorcist in the Halonic order in Ishgard for a few years before eventually opening his own shrine in the Mist (Plot 8, Ward 12) devoted to the Goddess, Azeyma. Recently, he became a teacher of red magic. Among his first students is Munokhoi.

Basic Character History:
Munokhoi's Xaela parents tried to conceive a child long into old age, but they were never able to. On a short voyage from home, the pair discovered ship wreck that had been ravaged by pirates along the northern coastline of the Ruby Sea. They found baby Munokhoi in the wreckage without another living soul in sight. It didn't matter to them that the child was a hyur. To them, Munokhoi was an answer to decades old prayers, so they claimed him as their own. Believing the child to be befallen by a curse that killed his blood family, they named him 'vicious dog' to keep bad spirits from following him to his new home on the outskirt shores of the Steppe. Nomads by nature, the Haragin tribe were constantly on the move, always looking to discover new, unseen corners of Hydaelyn. Even as a hyur and an adoptee, the Haragin sense of adventure and the need to explore was hammered into Munokhoi's psyche from an early age. His parents traveled the far reaches of the globe, leaving Munokhoi with many stories to relive himself one day.

In his adult years, Munokhoi did as most Haragin did: he traveled as far from the Steppe as possible, adventuring throughout Eorzea. In his travels, Munokhoi trained in swordplay among the gladiators of Ul'dah and learned the basics of red magic from an Azeyman exorcist in Gridania. After years of searching through ancient dungeons and shady black markets, Munokhoi happened upon a unique form of magic that draws directly from monsters and resembles neither black nor white magicβ€”a peculiar blue magic with origins in the so-called New World.

More recently, Munkhoi has enlisted with Drakenguard, a free company of mercenaries and elite mark hunters, in the hopes that he can learn new forms of magic from the most dangerous and notorious beasts the West has to offer.

Religion:
Munokhoi strongly believes that the Wanderer, Oschon of the Twelve, has the power to have an impact on his life and the lives of those around him. He doesn't, however, believe the God to be an omnipotent force, but simply a being of higher consciousness and power. Munokhoi's Xaela parents claim that his blood family adorned their ill-fated ship with the Wanderer's symbol and, therefore, his blood family had a special connection to the deity. Munokhoi also carries the beliefs of the Xaela, believing that Azim guards over the Steppe against evil forces and that the Steppe is His domain. He rejects the Oronir belief that their founder was Azim Himself, believing Azim to take a special interest in the lives of all Xaela in the Steppe who call upon His protection.

After reading The Wanderer's Waltz by Saint Oschonelle, Munokhoi adopted many of the philosophies of the saint espoused in her book. Among those beliefs, Saint Oschonelle believed that the Wanderer is capable of taking many, many forms in His travels around the world and meddling in the affairs of mortals for their betterment. She also believed that Oschon was capable of appearing as other deities and may, in fact, be the true form of many deities the world over. Interest in these sorts of beliefs has led Munokhoi to believe that Azim of the Steppe and Azeyma of the Twelve might very well be one deity with different identities depending on the culture they appear to.

Current Goals:

  • Help people in need;
  • Master red magic;
  • Learn dances from across Eorzea;
  • Discover new forms of magic;
  • Make friends in every corner of Hydaelyn;
  • Uncover rare books devoted to Oschon

Personal RP Limits

β–  I will play mature content and themes (violence, sexuality, drug/alcohol use, self-harm) as long as they're logical in a plot-driven encounter, including coarse and excessive language or temporary injury and incapacitation. Walk-up encounters and /tell's are welcome.
β–  I won't play permanent character death, permanent injury, pregnancy, sexual violence, or rape plots.
Looking For...
β–  Meaningful connections for Munokhoi to make with Xaela, especialy Xaela who are open-minded and accepting enough to help Munokhoi move past his insecurities and accept himself fully.
β–  Connections for Munokhoi to make with fellow Haragin tribe mates. It would be good to have moments to kick back and reminisce on the past with. I wouldn't say no to running into a cousin or some other relative either.
β–  Connections for Munokhoi to make with fellow students of red magic or blue magic, especially those who would like to party together to learn various blue magic spells or seek one another's help in obtaining a spell the other has already learned.
β–  Characters with hobbies or interests in dancing, monster hunting, and/or rare book collecting.
β–  Participants in PVP content from an RP perspective (Duels, Frontline, Feast, Rival Wings, etc.) or people who want to PVP out of character and/or on a team.
Disclaimer
β–  If an aspect of RP makes you uncomfortable in a scene we're playing, please send me a /tell, letting me know. Communication is very important, more important than potentially keeping immersion. I always want my RP partners to be comfortable.
