[edit] Details Personality Relationships Rumors Gallery OOC Notes GENERAL INFORMATION Hailing from the distand land of Dalmasca, Ohka Mhide found her way to Eorzea and settled down with a Miqo'te family in the city-state of Gridania as a teen. Once a daughter of the Wood, a Viera, Ohka abandoned her previous life, taking on her current name and hiding away her true appearance in favor of fitting in with her new family. She learned the ways of Conjury, as did her siblings and their forebears. Though she was adept at the craft of healing, she fell behind quite quickly due to a late start and carelesness of her teachers; much more interested in her more talented peers. Ohka worked hard to keep up with their pace, and strove to be the best she could be and earn the affections of her adoptive family. Wanting to give back the kindness they showed her upon accepting her into their fold. This went on for years, and so dedicated was she to being what her family wanted, that she lost sight of who she truly was. So close was she to earning her matriarchs' adoration, that she did not see how Dalamud began to descend from its place among the stars. The Calamity struck, coincidentally while she was foraging for herbs, and she avoided being part of the body-count from that traumatic night. None of her family save one managed to survive. The aftermath is but a blur to her, and her remaining sibling does not contact her often save for a few yearly visits. Conjury kept her going, but without a family, without any goals, who was she? For years she roamed between the Shroud and Thanalan, offering her healing skills to those who needed it, or her body once she came of age, and gil was hard to find. Finally after a years-long daze, Ohka Mhide found herself working in a clinic, which since moved its' services to the distant port of Kugane in Hingashi. Knee-deep in debt now to Yakuza due to travel prices, Ohka works long nights and days to pay them off. While she regrets the move to some degree, Ohka's horizons are slowly expanding with each new experience. Somewhere, deep down, she longs to find herself once more. So she may no longer hide herself in shame of her origins. She doesn't open up much about her past, but given the right company, and perhaps a little liquor, her tongue will most certainly loosen. APPEARANCE Ohka is short, ranging at about 5'2" as a Miqo'te, with a curvy build. Snow-white strands of hair that she constantly preens, delicately frame her rounded features. Her sea-green eyes seem to pop in contrast to the rest of her neutral tones, but the lack of sleep is apparent under her lids. Plush lips, a curved nose, and thick brow are set upon her face, with dark freckles scattered over her cheeks and nose. Her left ear has a small, otherwise unnoticeable nick, while her tail is long, neatly brushed, and a bit fluffy. Just like her hair. Aspects That Stand Out: ■ Almost always wearing gloves, concealing old burn scars that mar her skin. ■ Appears very tired no matter the time of day. PERSONALITY A little awkward, but mostly polite. Ohka always seems a bit tired and a bit blunt when spoken to, but otherwise has good intentions. L I K E S ■ LEARNING - Always open to learning new things. She's naturally curious and may even be considered a bit nosey. ■ HEALING - Conjury has simply become a part of her since she first learned the craft. She does her best to improve her skills despite not having a mentor, and enjoys utilizing her skills to help others. D I S L I K E S ■ VIOLENCE - Only when necessary, Ohka will resort to it, but otherwise prefers to settle things peacefully. ■ FIRE - Being near an open flame makes her very nervous, and sometimes space out entirely. H O B B I E S ■ GARDENING - It started as a method of coping with her trauma from the calamity, but now she treats her plants as if they were her children. She even talks to them when no one is around. ■ WRITING - While her vocabulary is very limited, and despite being mostly illiterate, she does write poems and short stories that will never ever be seen by anyone ever. S T R E N G T H S ■ PASSIONATE - When she cares, she cares deeply, if not often. ■ DRIVEN - If confronted with a task, Ohka will most likely put forth her all to accomplish it. Sometimes at the cost of herself if it means gaining recognition for her work. W E A K N E S S E S ■ IMPATIENT - When Ohka wants something, she likes for it to be done quickly and efficiently. Which isn't always realistic. ■ STUBBORN - Tends to be set her in ways, but will try to see reason for the most part. ■ PERFECTIONIST - Due to her upbringing with her Miqo'te family, Ohka believes that everything must be done perfectly. She must perform exceptionally in all fields to be considered worthy of attention. This also applies to her appearance. M O T I V A T I O N S ■ NONE - Lost for much of her youth and adulthood, Ohka knows not what she truly wants in life. After years of trying to be someone else, she is starting to yearn to find who she truly is and what she wants. ( ● ) - Apprentice Red Mage Character's Thoughts: " Doesn't value family. Irresponsible. Wish he would treat me better." Awkward at best. Since the loss of the rest of their loved ones, Ohka and Osha'sae do not talk much and their visits often end up tense due to differing ideas of what the other should be doing. Osha Mhide, Adoptive Mother. ( ✝ ) - Matriarch. Character's Thoughts: "I wish I could have measured up to her expectations." Osha adopted Ohka when she had nowhere to go, and was near starving to death. It was mostly out of kindness, and didn't show much affection to Ohka under her tutelage. Amphiran, Mother. ( � ) Character's Thoughts: " I find myself yearning to return to her sometimes." Ohka's birth-mother. Amphiran was a wood-warder who was teaching Ohka to become one herself before her daughter left the Wood's embrace. NON-FAMILY Arslang Kharlu, Friend and Client. ( ♦ ) - Mercenary. Character's Thoughts: "Carries a certain wisdom about him. I always look forward to his company, and I hope he enjoys our conversations as much as I do." Ohka treats Arslang's wounds that he gets during his work, and they have become friends through each session spent healing him. Ohka has some feelings for the Xaela, but doesn't wish to invade his space or make him uncomfortable with flirtations. It would also be somewhat unprofessional. I've done both heavily for much of my life and while I may not be spectacular at either, they're both something I love to do. I got into roleplay when I was pretty young so I've quite a bit of experience under my belt now. I've been playing FINAL FANTASY XIV for a little over two years, but haven't done much roleplay yet.
